What's funny is that if you listen carefully he actually makes more sense than who he is speaking to and more often than not ricky 😅. You would be amazed at the amount of truths in the stories and topics he discussed on xfm and the ricky gervais show that everyone laughed at but he was actually not wrong
@@arrongoldberg4684but he also only reads the first line of a headline and makes shit up as he goes along lol. Gotta love Karl, he is so dry and sees the world very differently from most. One of the funniest lines for me was when Karl was at the "Great Wall of China" and said, "it's ok, not that great, should have called it the Ok Wall of China" classic. 🤣
For me the funniest was the "debrief" after getting caught up in a fake kidnapped/ransom situation & he just kept yelling "CONGRESS TART!! CONGRESS TART!!" like a crazed lunatic. It was just so random & ridiculous
'If you know too much, you can worry about stuff' .... when I was younger I always thought the saying ignorance is bliss was a negative, but the older I get the more I understand being ignorant is somewhat positive for mental health
You can see why Ricky thought he had hit the jackpot when he met him. He calls him his gift to the world and he certainly did not disappoint. Yeh Karl's brain works differently to other peoples' the meaning behind a lot of what he says is never what you initially think.
Not only that. Brian actually seems to get it. As in he understands our English/British sensibilities and humour. Many US reaction channels that rely on British culture to propagate their channels' success don't actually understand the source material, and the reactions are dry and obviously forced. Most reaction channels are full of vapid, empty fake reactions, so it's good to see what appears to be genuine reactions from Americans who do authentic, genuine stuff.
Karl is brilliant in so many ways. He absolutely means everything he says, but there isnt a single drop of malice intended with it. It's like we used to be allowed to think and talk before twitter and reddit became humanitys moral compass.
You're allowed to talk. Maybe you and the rest have just gotten more sensitive to people's responses. I mean I know what you mean but. It used to be everybody who wasn't a Christian, or a rightie, or was a communist, or a hedonist, could get fired for saying what they thought. Maybe in the end it'll bring everybody together over free speech when they didn't care when it was the other side😅. Or maybe more likely we'll blow ourselves up pretty soon😆
You should check out Ricky Gervais's series Life's to Short ( About a dwarf actor) The Convention scene has to be one of best british comedy moments ever.
You need to watch the whole XFM catalogue! It's Ricky, Steve and Karl ..........pure comedy :-D .....and where the Steve/disability thing comes from LOL ...."he's not having a go" haha
Thanks for doing a US/UK comparison that isn't the 'same old, same old'. I haven't seen this before and I'm a Brit. Can't really say that about the other US content providers. So many seem to piggy back the same trend and pretend it's new to them. Keep it up, old chap.
Karl's point was that bipedal animals are slower than quadrupedal animals so a tripedal man would not only be faster than a normal bipedal man but would have more control of the ball with 3 legs.
People say Karls a morron but he's not he brought a property at Sandbanks on a hill just in case the sea rises from global warming , America version of this places is the Hamptons.
One thing which I never get is why they keep calling Karl's literature item *"a book."* It's not a book. It's a pull-out from the men's magazine *FHM* which is titled *The Carnival of the Grotesque.*
In the theme of the monkies and infinity, surely if you had infinity and by definition a infinite amount of beheaded bodies surely one would eventually walk, even a few steps?
The thing about Karl is, whether we agree with his viewpoints or not doesn't really matter. He's a lovable person even when he's talking nonsense, cause he really doesn't mean any harm to anyone. It's that positive aspect that we'd all like to see more of in the world.
I wonder if Karl Pilkington reads The Fortean Times as I do. It's full of odd stuff from around the world. There are weird things happening you don't normally see or hear about. Many of these extra body parts are actually twins that went wrong in the womb and became one child with extra limbs or suchlike. I saw one in India where the child was worshipped as being like one of the Hindu gods. The one that is depicted as having many arms, though actually it's supposed to indicate movement I believe. Really, you'd be amazed at what goes on in some places. I have to say I'm with Karl on infinity. LOL Oh and I was born in Manchester too. :)
I'm with Karl on the 'Infinite monkeys eventually typing the works of Shakespeare' idea. This is because I have studied the 'Library of Babel' principle. This principle basically debunks the chimp/typewriter/Shakespeare theory.
@mdatkinson92 it would take me 20 minutes to type it out in detail, so the best I can do is refer you a channel called: Science and Futurism with Isaac Arthur. He has a very good video on the topic and can explain it far better than I could in text form. If you type: "Library of Babel" into his channel's search function, the video will pop up.
Actually, Karl is wonderfully simple and correct. Unless it is actually demonstrated under scientific conditions it is only a theory. Like Schrodinger's Cat. A theory yet to be proved and probably (one hopes) never will.
@Pugna Ah, sorry for the error my mistake. I am used to writing Carl (spelt like this ) my sons name. Late and brain is in auto mode. Hope the edit and the explanation clarifies.

Too many hours of podcasts, radio, and tv for Karl to be faking. It shouldn't be hard to believe that there are people out there that see the world differently than you.
He is like that. His thoughts and opinions just come out of his mouth. He doesn't think before he speaks. But he's not malicious. He just very naive and can come across as innocent.
Hi King Boomer,, I think you’re brilliant, chuffed that you love our British humour . I don’t know if you’ve reacted to this or not , but if you like Ricky Gervaise and Karl Pilkington , watch a few episodes of “Derek ‘ Ricky plays Derek and Karl is Dougie the caretaker. You will die laughing 😂
