Jungkook was actually 13 when he joined. Koreans used to count ages differently (they just changed to the international age system recently. So the other members raised him since 13 yrs old.

When Jungkook says 15 years old, it’s really 13 years old. In Korea, they count age differently, so when you’re born, you’re 1 yrs old, and then considered 2 yrs old in the new year (January 1), instead of just waiting for their actual birthday to turn 2. So whenever the guys mention their age while speaking in Korean, you have to remember to just minus 1-2 years. They are aware of global age, so when they’re in english interviews, they’ll most likely say their global age instead. So technically Jungkook joined Big Hit/BTS when he was 13 years old and when they officially debuted in 6/13/13, he was 15 years old. BUT… it’s been passed/official, this last June I think, South Korea is no longer going by the Korean age, but by global age like the rest of us.

8:30 - It's true that BTS has used the social media to their full advantage. Their first US award was for Top Social Artist at the BBMAs, which they went on to win three more times, until the BBMAs eliminated the category (probably because they kept on winning).
9:40 - Yes, 1M+ for a paid online concert. When they streamed their Busan concert for free, we broke their streaming app. Then again, we are known to break online platforms who aren't ready to receive the influx of new visitors LOL
14:00 - When RM auditioned for Big Hit, Bang Shi-hyuk was so impressed that he decided to form a group around him. That's why he's the first member of BTS. Then it was the label who recruited trainees and decided on the final line-up. However, the BTS members have creative freedom since the very beginning, and together with the label they determined the direction of their music, especially the rappers, who are called the musical pillars of BTS.
25:00 - BTS was originally designed as a hip-hop group and the label recruited rappers. But then it was decided to change the concept to an idol group and they recruited trainees for that purpose.
41:00 - They did live together for many years. They bought their own houses/apartments in 2018-9, but they seem to split their time between those and their dorm, until the lease on the dorm ended in 2022 and they officially lived separately after that.

Yes u can say the fans raised BTS cause unlike other groups they didnt have the mainstream media pull, so they were the first to truly harness social media and bypass traditional media in Korea who is heavily controlled by the big companies, that's why they were pushed back alot but their fans really made effort tho push BTS to the top inspite of being an indie company.

BTS is the most successful example of using social media (TH-cam Twitter etc) and went from a super tiny company to being a significant part of the Korean GDP. They have made so much content you really can’t fathom it. They’ve worked harder than anyone I’ve seen while remaining humble, staying in school getting their bachelors and working to finishing masters while doing it all. And they make meaningful impactful music that’s musically diverse. What’s not to like? They’ve so positively impacted me I can’t put it into words. 💜💜💜

    2. was created because of RM. Hitman Bang was so impressed with him when he auditioned, that he decided he had to create a project to allow RM to debut. At first, they were supposed to be a hip hop group but they had to change because idol music was more popular at the time. But, yes, RM is the reason. However, he is the type to lead from behind and support rather than leading from the front all the time.

Just added some information. BTS first project is supposed a duo hiphop, not as a group yet (the member is RM and Iron. Iron get called to audition same day with RM and Bang PD like them both, so he want make a duo hiphop to debut them). But later Bang PD changed his mind, then he changed it from duo hiphop to a hiphop group that originally design with 9-10 rappers. Beside bighit held a competition (hit it first audition) to select new member, Bang PD also invited two famous underground rapper to joining as BTS member (they will directly become a member without audition), it's Basick and Benzino. But they turned it down the offers. Hence, BTS hiphop group is supposed with this members : RM, Iron (the original member from first project) + i11ven, Suga, Kidoh, A-tom, Supreme boi (from hit it 1st audition) + Basick and Benzino (from invitation but they decline the offers)+ Jhope (bighit pick among their trainee at that time). And all change again, after BTS project become an idol group lol...

@@rosecheawu1945 the news source for BTS predebut already gone around 2016 or 2017 coz the blog owner deleted it all after she announced will be retired from blogging coz she is busy with her work life (the blog owner was a multilingual korean Army. She is a fan from pre-debut BTS. She used translated all BTS news such as from korean media news, forum, BTS fancafe etc) about BTS former original line up info she translated from music forum where people who have been fan with DaeNamHyup is talking about Iron, I11ven, RM and Supreme boi will debut under bighit (there is no name for their new group been released yet to public at that time, but their fans knew that they will debute under bighit as hiphop group n about the member who will be in on bighit new project group). And pre-debut Army also know about the original line up from Daenamhyup fans beside predebut korean Army also followed up the group info. And for famous underground rapper (basick n benzino) who declined bighit offers to joined their new project hiphop group is come from the rappers themself told the story (that also she makes the translation. But i think koreaboo, soompi or other media news already translate about that info too). And the reason why A-tom and Kidoh resign from BTS n bighit, it was told by them when they get interview as ToppDogg members in 2015
And about the reason why BTS project get change from hiphop group to idol group beside bang PD analysis idol market is more promising,Jhope also one of reason why Bang PD want to change it become idol group coz he dont want to waste Jhope dance talent (this story is from RM. But i forgot where he mentioned about this. If in Vlive or in some interview, i cant remember lol i only remember the story that he been share about the reason why the group project was change become idol group 😁)
And there is also have so many information about BTS ex- vocalist candidate (and they already take a part to record for BTS debut song or some song in BTS album) but in the end they are resign with some reasons n debut to another idol group or become an actor. The info is come from the ex-vocalist candidate themself on interview (mostly the interview about bts ex-vocalist candidate is in 2016 and 2017 coz mostly the ex-vocalist debuted in other idol group in 2016 and 2017. So they sharing their experiences in interview that they almost debut under BTS and already do record some of BTS song but in the end, they decide to resign)

    1. sometimes in the beginning they didn't even have enough money to eat. they really came from the very bottom. In SK BTS were the first group to heavily use social media such as TH-cam, Twitter, and SK soc med platforms to promote themselves because the mainstream media basically ignored their existience. After BTS's success, it has become a norm in SK for groups to do lots of soc media. Also, because they were on TH-cam, they gained many overseas fans to the point that they weren't regarded as popular or famous in SK until they were already big overseas...particularly in the US.

They all have released free songs, it wasn't mentioned for RM, Suga and J-Hope. Ddaeng is a free song by the 3 rappers, and it's one of the best songs in their discography, a top 10 for me lol. If you guys like rap, you'll like Ddaeng. Their lyricism has a ton of clever wordplay and cultural references, so the explanation video by DKDKTV is needed to understand the lyricism.
BTS was built around RM, everyone joining BTS was contingent on whether or not they could mesh well with RM. Former trainees have said that RM encouraged all the trainees to help each other out instead of being competitive and cutthroat for a spot to debut, thus avoiding the stressful infighting that happens amongst a lot of trainees in other companies. RM contributes the most in songwriting and coming up with concepts for albums, he is one of the biggest reasons why BTS gets a lot of artistic respect for their great lyricism, deep topics and not being a studio controlled/manufactured group. IMO he is also a great producer, though he doesn't do much of it and prefers to focus on songwriting (he produced We Are Bulletproof Pt. 1 by himself at 16 years old when he first joined the company).

To answer your question about the "streamer house" concept and them living together, its a kpop thing. In kpop, people train together for years and live together in dorms long before they get to debut. In that vein, its important to note that they've been together as 7 since debut. So, the very first bts songs has all 7 members. They started off with more of a hip hop vibe btw. Also, not sure if you know but in Korea the name order goes last then first. So RM's name is Kim Namjoon but it'd be Namjoon Kim in the U.S.

    3. Because SK is a communal society, several generations can live together in one household. In the idol trainee system, the trainees all live together in "dorms" --small apartments. Because Big Hit had so little money, they were once almost sent home cause they didn't have money for the rent. Also, the bigger agencies provide nicer, bigger accomodations and usually each member of a group usually get their own place as soon as possible. However, BTS lived together (in bigger and better accomodations) until they announced in June of 2021 that they were giving up their joint accomodation-most of them already had their own places by then anyway. But BTS believed that they should prob lived apart alot sooner. So how can you not be close to someone you lived witih for 10-13years and worked with every day? They all say that the members are their family and that they are more family to them than their own families.

It's important to know that they all started as trainees under BigHit without knowing each other. They were among many other trainees who were evaluated and monitored as time went on to decide who would be cut out or allowed to continue. The 7 remaining kept on training until they were allowed to debut. RM was training since 2010 and the last to enter was Jimin who had only around 8 months to train before debut in June 2013. It's was kind of like a boarding school were they perfected all their skills to become idols. So even before their debut, they had to work their a$$es off just to not be eliminated from the pool of trainees then continue working hard to prove that they were good enough to debut. Some groups train for years and never get to debut. This is a brutal environment like professional sports leagues or Ballet Academies where many are called but few are chosen.

51:52 One of the first ever BTS songs is called Satoori Rap or Paldogangsan. It was made in 2011 by the 3 rappers before some of the vocalists even joined bighit. Its a song about the different dialects/satoori in korea and the rap is done entirely in accents/dialects by jhope and suga who are both from different parts of korea (daegu and jeolla accents). Later it was remade by all 7 members.
Early bts songs were definitely rap heavy for sure. Also a lot of great rnb. I'm sure you will enjoy those songs.
    31:42 you are so right.
Suga is the resident introverted creative and jhope is the extroverted creative. RM is both.
A lot of people misunderstand both suga and jhope. But I think their music is what speaks for them. Genre wise and philosophically all three rappers are so different.
Sugas music is raw narrative lyrics, social commentary and passion. He is the critic.
Jhope has a blend of honesty and literary references and optimism in his lyrics. He is the optimist.
And RM uses poetic language and talks about emotions and identity the most. He is the realist.
When you combine the three you get a bts song.
A bts song will have all of these features together.
The 4 vocalists of bts are also so different. Its one their greatest strengths as a group. No 2 are alike. Jimins high voice always catches people off guard... and nobody expects a bts member to be playing sax. Its really fun.
JIMIN has an album called Face. The main single Like Crazy topped the Billboard hot 100 and hit number 1 just by sales.
    Absolutely legendary.

This is a GREAT intro to BTS, and Taylor deserves a lot of thanks. But there are a couple of misleading facts and a couple of very interesting ones that were only mentioned in passing.
Suga is not the main producer of BTS. He is the *member* with the most production credits. PDogg is the main producer of BTS. The guys call him the 8th member because they consider him so important to their success. PDogg is the sole producer of every Korean language BTS title track, and about 90% of their other songs. He did not produce the Japanese singles or the English ones.
The reason Suga stands out as a prolific producer is that in addition to their BigHit official song catalog, they have an extensive "unofficial" catalog of songs released by the members themselves on Soundcloud. Of those songs, Suga has had the biggest hand (among the members) in production. And since this intro was made, he has branched out in the field of production more than the other members. And as you all know, the beats he does produce are masterful.
JK was not 15 when he signed to BigHit. He was actually 13! Koreans used to count age differently. You were 1 at birth, and added a year every January, not on your birthday. That made him 15 according to Korean age when he signed in May 2011 but still 13 by the US counting method.
J-hope did not even know how to rap when he joined, and Jin had zero singing experience when he was asked to switch from BigHit's acting division to join BTS. They learned after being recruited.
I am REALLY looking forward to your reactions of the remaining solo member songs, and then the group together!

This is true. I just want to add that Suga has also produced for other artists for several years now. His collabs, where he's often also the producer, often win awards, such as Wine (2017), Song Request (2019), Eight (2020), That That (2022). That Samsung chose him to produce their ringtone, twice, also says something.

Ohh and also hitman bang, he's the former CEO and is the chairman of hybe/bighit. He's the boss but he was always a producer and songwriter before starting his own company so he also has credits

BTS didn't live in a streamer type house. They had a shared dorm style living home and officially ending all dorm living in 2022. Because big hit was broke they could only afford 1 bedroom house for them in the beginning n the boys have spoken in depth of the torture that house was.
Almost all grps live in the same house, it makes it easier for the company.

I’m going to comment now even tho I haven’t finished coz if I don’t I’ll forget 😂 so the Bangtan Universe is the fictional storyline about the guys that runs through multiple music videos, games, books, short stories, ect. It’s pretty confusing but thankfully there’s also guides that explain it! MV that relate to the storyline are usually marked.
The scenes u see when they are filmed in the house is called In the Soop. There are two seasons of that where they take a vacation in the forest (Soop). Basically a reality show which shows them doing “normal” things. It’s one of my favorites content of there’s!

    4. BTS didn't create Big Hit. It was created by a well know producer named Bang Si-yhuk. However, the company was tiny and barely staying afloat. Almost going bankrupt at one point. They started with like 4 employees and I think there were about 10 when BTS was being started. BTS's success literally built up Big Hit from nothing and it got so big that they changed the name to Hybe corportaion. They own multiple record labels and other businesses now and even have a Hybe America. They are huge now and Hitman Bang is filthy rich of course. But, he missed producing so he gave up his seat as CEO to focus of producing. Under Hybe is Big Hit Music, what used to be Big Hit Enertainment before it became Hybe. BTS was given lots of stocks of Hybe when they went public. And even though Big Hit Music is technically under Hybe, they are almost seperate because BTS have alot of say so about what goes one etc. Now the Hybe headquarters is in an ultra modern 19 story building and God only knows how many employees they have now.

The two members you haven't reacted to yet are the ones who have a #1 Billboard song. The first one was Jimin back in March with his song "Like Crazy". Great song.
Then Jungkook did it with "Seven" in July. He just released his album "Golden" on Nov 3 and he is currently breaking records left and right. He recently gave a surprise show at Times Square, performing 5 songs, which I think is a good video to react to. (I said "surprise" because they only told us there was gonna be a special event on Nov 10, but didn't tell us what or where or when. ARMY figured it out and gathered at Times Square a couple of hours before the show. Big Hit officially announced it only 30 minutes before the actual performance, but the place was packed.)

Well, first and foremost Bang Si-Hyuk founder of Big Hit ( music and artist for healing) now rebranded to HYBE created BTS. He is the brains and one of the creative forces. He is an award winning producer. The first three members are rappers because BTS was a hip hop group before he decided they should be a K-pop group. He decided they would have more longevity as a k-pop group than a hip hop group. He also believes in artists having creative freedom. He wanted the group to be a beacon of light and hope. A group young people could look up to. SK at the time had the highest suicide rate of any developing nation.
So, the messages initially in the songs addressed pressures kids endure. They attend school during the day and then attend cram school at night. Parents decided their future. They are not suppose to dream or pursue their dreams. Songs: No More Dreams (1st song), N.O. DOPE all address parental pressures and telling parents to allow children to pursue their dreams. Right Now, the ultimate is to be accepted into one of the top Universities, so parents have bragging rights. They are taught that if they don’t ace their exams and get into a top University they are failures. Imagine the pressure. BTS Bsides are AMAZING.
I apologize for the long comment, but I promise you will learn some interesting information.
None of them are from Seoul. JK and Jimin are from Busan. Suga, V from Daegu. RM from Ilsan, J-Hope from Gwangju, and Jin from Anyang Si. All moved to Seoul to live together in their teens.
Bang taught them the 7, the group is more important than the individual. He taught them conflict resolution. He taught them to resolve their problems even if they have to throw fists. They must resolve the conflict within 24 hours and all 7 must be involved in the resolution even if the dispute is between two members. They lived together 9 of their ten years together. They just last year moved out of their luxury apartment when they decided to go off season and pursue solo endeavors.
They love one another and even their parents are close. RM and Jin’s dads are best friends.
The initial top three ET companies were SM, YG, and JYP. Bang helped start JYP. He is best friends with the founder and he produced hit songs. He is known as HitMan Bang.
Now, there are 4 top companies. HYBE, SM, YG,JYP. Big Hit a little company on the verge of bankruptcy
Is now the top company in SK. BTS built BigHit so now it’s HYBE, IPO went public, make deals with Universal, Geffen bought Scooter Braun’s Ithaca holdings which has Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, and many other artists like Florida Georgia Line. Have divisions in the US, I think Japan, and of course SK. Bang is a business genius. He is an innovator. BTS contributes BILLIONS in taxes each year. USD. They each own stock in HYBE. They recently resigned with them early due to their military service. If you have PRIME, their free concert they held in Busan in October of last year is now available.

BTS official debut was with all 7 members with their first song called No More Dream. They did have a few songs before BTS debuted but No More Dream was their first official release In kpop there is a trainee system where companies will hold auditions or recruit people to join their company as trainees. I think Bighit had like 20-30 people as trainees. Initially BTS was supposed to be a rap group/no dancing but the group was changed to include vocalists and dancing so many of the rapper trainees left Bighit after this decision. A trainee can train anywhere from a few months to as long as 10 years in extreme cases (I would say the average is 2-5 years). During this time the trainees are evaluated and those who can't make the cut are sent home. So imagine training for years and not even getting to debut. Keep in mind they will also live together during this time too. So for instance Jungkook was only 13 when he joined Bighit so the older members had to take care of him because he was no longer living with his family. There is actually this short documentary with a former Bighit trainee who was very close to being the 8th member of BTS but was cut last minute. I was initially worried when I watched it because I was afraid he would talk bad about the members and their success but he said he's happy for them and more than anything he just misses being friends with them.

Your 2nd sentence is kinda incorrect.
We are bulletproof pt 1, satoori rap and jump were all predebut and pre-vocal lineup songs.
We are bulletproof pt1 was always under the name bts even though the line up was different. Iron and supreme boi and rm made that song.
Similarly satoori rap made by the rapline in 2011 and featured on tv news, under the name BTS, before taehyung and jimin joined bighit. V actually saw the song on the internet after he auditioned.
BTS also performed at events as a 3 member group at events predebut. You can find videos of it on TH-cam itself. Rm and suga rapped while jhope danced.
So I don't I will say they only produced songs after the final lineup was realised.
There are examples of bts songs made before the final lineup.

There were 3 major companies in S.Korea before BTS made BigHit big. These companies practically owned S.Korean media (TV, magazines, radio, ect.). Their artists always became a success, having fans even before debut, without having any music yet. These companies called Big 3. They can buy journalists, articles for their mediaplay, blacklist artists and companies they don't like, which was actively used against BTS and BigHit all this time.
So when BTS started, Big Hit could not provide them with big promotions or media coverage. They started their own variety shows just because BTS weren't invited into existing ones or if they were, hosts openly bullied them. It was 2013-2015, so it was golden time to start TH-cam channel (and Twitter). Before BTS K-pop companies didn't really considered social media as a way to promote their artists. But when BTS won Top Social Artist Award in America in 2017, all these K-pop Twitter accounts started popping out like mushrooms after the rain. And that was the reason why Koreans was so confused when BTS started taking awards in Korean shows, because they wasn't that popular in Korea at that time (ironically, they still are not, Jin was at the street market with famous Korean chief for their cooking show, and people recognised and approached chief and not Jin), but they gained fans abroad first.
As for current time, BigHit grew so big, so they decided to revamp organisation, creating HYBE LABELS, which is the company that manages several labels (but HYBE don't interfere with creative process of these labels, so some of them more like BigHit and some of them are more traditional K-pop labels). BigHit Music is one of the labels under HYBE, so even if HYBE sometimes does some questionable sh*t, BTS' autonomy is protected. They can make their own decisions. In fact, all BTS members are HYBE' shareholders (Bang PD gifted them stocks) and there're cases when RM stopped some company's projects he didn't agree with. BTS has a strong voice in the company.
As for Big Hit Music, there're three artists currently under the label: Lee Hyun (vocalist who was with the company way before BTS), BTS and TXT (BTS' younger brothers, debuted in 2019, some of TXT' members were BigHit' trainees in BTS' earlier years, so they saw what BTS went through and have a lot of respect for them). They are all good friends and respect each other.
HYBE LABELS currently is richer than all Big 3 combined, but they still don't have connections or power over media, so BTS still actively sabotaged, blacklisted, ignored and lied upon in S.Korea. When BTS did their free concert in Busan last year to promote BUSAN EXPO 2030 locals were so confused why it's BTS who was chosen to represent the country, when "there are more popular groups in S.Korea". So, you get the picture.
If you want more in-depth information about what BTS went through in Korea and abroad, I strongly recommend checking out Boracity Magazine essays. Any of them is straight facts.

Another notable award they award they have received is the General James A. Van Fleet Award. If you look up recipients of that award it’s former presidents, dignitaries, ambassadors, founders of major companies (it for outstanding contributions to US and Korean relations). Never been awarded to actors, athletes, or musicians except BTS.
Repeatedly been on the cover of Time Magazine (first K-pop group to ever do that).
Will have 3 of their song played on the shuttle Artemis II that will be going to the moon, so their music will literally be played out of this world.

Videos that go into depth more about kpop would be episode 1 of The Rise Of Bangtan. The docu follows BTS history but the first episode is a general introduction into the world of kpop.
As for the 3 big kpop companies they are SM, JYP, AND YG. Hybe (former big hit), is now in that ranking. There are also hundreds of kpop labels in South Korea, and tons of new grps debut each year. In kpop they use 7 year contracts. Most grps never resign. Most never make it past the first year. Others just fizzle out without ever officially breaking up, or lose members due to scandals or going solo.
Even in the kpop world BTS stand alone for there triumphs and also there brotherhood. Since grps are "made" by the companies, very often you can be with people you really dislike.

Suga is actually the workaholic of the group. he even took his recording equipment on vacations and during tours. he says he has to keep himself busy. he constantly writes anything that he sees or hears and finds interesting or lyric ideas so he walks around with a pencil and those yellow lined pads. also in Daechwita it was a mix tape song. he made no money from it. and paid 1 million or so for that MV out of his own pocket. BTS lived together I believe for almost 10 years. I know RM & Suga have been together for over 13 years I believe. and those 2 have been making music for 15 years

Thank you for checking Taylor's guide, always warms our hearts.. we miss them though bec Jin, JHope and Suga are now fulfilling their mandatory military service. So the remaining members are doing solo music until the time they get to serve their time.
There are other fan produced documentaries also about the company and about BTS from different perspectives. It's shorter and narrated in English, try checking the Rice Squad, "The most beautiful moment in life: the story of BTS" or Rosan's (XCeleste) Who is BTS? an earlier and shorter one which narrates about what BTS's mission is.. This will give you a broader picture of the KPop industry and where Big Hit started and a glimpse to BTS's hardships.

Rise of Bangtan series by Aneesa would take you on that journey from where k-pop started, the trainee system, to BTS coming on the scene, and up to I think about 2019. I highly recommend it. I think there is about 22 episodes/chapters she did over the pandemic planning to wrap it up at 25, but has decided to leave it unfinished for the time being. Oh...she also has Bonus content and Extra footage that didn't make each chapter.

They were really at the advent of TH-cam promotion. Early in their career, interviewers were always bringing up how "TH-cam made them famous" in the West. They were the first kpop group to have a Twitter account and things like that as well. A lot of the things they did, from vlogs to variety shows, are very common practice for groups now, and now basically everyone does them. But that was not the case when BTS did it.
The funny thing is, they mostly did it because they were from such a small, poor company that Korean promotional shows, etc, all snubbed them. So they had to find other ways of putting themselves out there. But ultimately it really worked in their favor.

You'll see how different Big Hit & Hybe compare to the rest of the companies and actually, how BTS has impacted the industry now that they've grown Hybe to what it is. I really think you'd love the series. It's fanmade, but WELL made.

There's multiple KPop companies. Big Hit was a very small company independently owned. The Big 3 refer to the 3 biggest KPop companies. Prior to BTS, only artists of the Big 3 won the big awards in Korea. BTS is the only artists that won outside of the big 3 starting in 2016 Artist of the Year, they've won every year since. 2023 maybe the first year to break their streak as BTS members started their mandatory military service last year; Jin, JHope and now Suga are currently serving. They will all serve and return by 2025. Hence their solo work now dropping before they all go and serve.
Companies basically look for people to audition to train, debut, and hopefully break into the larger scope of the KPop world. Some fail, some succeed. Enjoy the delve: Earlier songs focused on Hip Hop and then they evolved into how we know them now.

j-hope ( and this is the correct way of writing it, in all lowercase ☺️) is indeed creative BUT NOT ONLY on the external. He is also very creative with his music. He was called Lyrical Jedi and Baby face lyrical assassin by the western hip-hop community. Songs like Mic drop, Dionysus, Dis-ease , Whalien 52 are just some of the best songs he contributed to BTS ( he got 138 credits as of this writing)
He tells the most cohesive and compelling story in his two albums that came out already. Hopeworld tells his story inside the box- sounds bright but the lyrics are dark ; and the critically acclaimed Jack in the Box ( where More& Arson are the tittle tracks)
“ He dance his way to the rap” yes you can say that, cuz Namjoon & SUGA’s rap where influenced by the Korean rap industry, j-hope was influenced by his street dance & hip-hop background.
His melodic rap is so beautiful and he can given you multiple flows that’s satisfying to your ears.
You mentioned Piece of Peace , it is a beautiful song of his and I suggest you check it out too!
He is indeed a happy ball of sunshine but he is NOT HAPPY GO LUCKY. ☺️ HE ALWAYS HAVE A PLAN. He plans so ahead that he got a post military plan already ( he is serving his country right now) , very organized and a true visionary.
When he performs, his stage presence is phenomenal! If you haven’t watched yet, his Lollapalooza headliner stage is a must watch, a full video is in their Bangtan TV channel. He also got a Disney Documentary about his album Jack in the box that culminated in Lollapalooza. This 2024 , he will release Hope On The Street to tackle his roots!
You should hear more of his raps with Namjoon & SUGA like Tear, Cyphers, UGH, Ddaeng (title which he thought about)
All seven got their unique talents thank makes up BTS unique and a group worth rooting for !

RM is the leader because the CEO of bighit saw his talent and decided he has to make him depute and formed a band around him 🔥🔥

  • @alm9535
    @alm9535 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

Bang PD or Bang Si Hyuk, BigHit's founder, CEO and producer admired RM's talents so much when he first heard RM and with his vision of a hiphop group, created Bangtan Sonyeondan around RM or Kim Namjoon. There is a clip where BangPD (aka Hitman Bang) expressed how incredibly wise, extraordinarily talented the young Namjoon was and how RM has vision and foresight even at such a young age.
BigHit themselves could not have predicted the bond between members nor how BTS would explode globally and have the reach they have today. It is unfathomable. BTS utilized social media which was unheard of for idol groups. None of the groups from the big 3 companies JYP, SM and YG ever went on social media to do personal vlogs. BTS did it to reach out to their fans because they had no other means because they were not invited to guest on main variety shows which was the standard way idol groups connected with fans or were visible to the public. They were shut off. What did BTS do? They were the first youtubers- doing personal vlogs on apps like Naver, Vlive (now Weverse) and created their own variety show called Run BTS.
The hardships, discrimination, death threats, attempts at sabotage by the big 3 companies and media before debut and upon debut throughout their early years definitely brought BTS members closer and they were determined, worked so very hard to prove that they are artists and should not be dismissed. But what they went through could have broken even the best and most artists. Remember around 3 of them back then were in their early 20s and the rest were in their teens. Imagine going through those terrible experiences at that age! This period of time has highlighted how immensely strong mentally these very young men were and how much of a burden Namjoon as BTS leader carried on his shoulders especially to protect his brothers from the harsh social media posts from SK netizens in those early years.
Mind you BTS still gets those bashings to this day from SK and Western media and public.
Additional background info from BTS book Beyond The Story:
In the beginning, because the goal was to create a hiphop group, most of the trainees (between 2010 -2011 before BTS debut in 2013) were guys with hiphop background. In fact, Jhope mentioned in the book that when he arrived at the dorm back in 2011, it was clear all the trainees were rappers who rapped all day long. He had to learn fast because he was the only one who was not a rapper.
Per normal practice with groups of trainees, they went through evaluations and one could get cut from the group.
At that time BigHit (a small company) put a significant amount of money to debut their first girl group. However, this was an unsuccessful attempt. BigHit lost a lot of money and was on the verge of bankruptcy. They had to let go of so many trainees and also made a decision to change direction with their groups ie going the idol group route instead of a hiphop group.
Understandably, this major move upset RM and Suga because they now had to learn dance choreography. Quite a number of trainees left (any given time there would be approx 20-30 trainees moving in and out of the dorm) because of this change from a hiphop group to an idol group.
Although an idol group was the direction, BTS early albums were still heavily based on hiphop music with high intensity choreography.
Back to living together in the dorm, although Jin was scouted as the 4th member, he did not stay at their very first dorm until much later. When he arrived at the dorm, he realized that they needed some semblance of order regarding meals etc and stepped up as the big brother and cooked for his brothers. He would at times drive JK to school and pick him up. JK was 13 years old (in international age) so you can understand why BTS were and still are protective of JungKook. They raised him.
Pre-debut was a stressful time. It was nonstop training and work especially gruelling for RM and Suga- the main writers for BTS, who in 2011 - 2012 were composing, writing and preparing songs for their debut. They would get home at 5 or 6am exhausted. The rest of the team were very worried about them and saw how extremely hard they worked. Of course the others were busy practising choreographies, vocal lessons, studying their songs, learning rap etcetc
V was happy to be a trainee and did not think that he would debut soon. On average, idol group trainees debut after 4 or 5 years (even longer in other companies). Jimin was not even sure he was going to debut and was nearly cut from the trainee group a few times. Hobi aka Jhope at one time wanted to quit, left and was only persuaded to return and stay by RM who fought for him in his talks with BangPD. Hobi returned because he trusted his BTS brothers.
On 13th of June 2013, this group of 7 young men - the 3 rappers and 4 vocalists had their debut as Bangtan Sonyeondan or Bulletproof Boyscouts on live television.
BTS continued to live together moving to bigger apartments but still sharing rooms (2-3 per room) until 2021/2022 when they each moved to their own individual apartments. So they really have literally lived together for a long time. They are family.
It is a David vs Goliath story with so much heart that continues until now. They are inspirational young men.

The members continued to live together until sometime in 2021… a lot the footage of them together comes from either lives or shows like in the soop… they reveal a lot but… not everything lol
Big hit who found the members and formed the group, originally planned for a rap heavy hip hop group…
The K-pop entertainment companies are end to end in the music business.. they scout and train and manage artists, do a&r, produce distribute and mostly control their artists entire lives.. big hit was different. they let BTS be themselves and create their own music.. not say that they didn’t filter BTS on screen behaviors.. that was culturally necessary in Korea where small mishaps in bevaviour or language are enough to get an artist cancelled… often permanently…
