  • A Nigerian designer, Ezinne Olivia has accused Ghanaian fashionista, Nana Akua Addo of donning her outfit and refusing to credit her. Addo had won the outfit to the recently concluded AMVCA award. Recall that Nana Akua Addo made headlines during the weekend during the AMVCA events after she shared the magnificent outfit she wore.
An upcoming designer called her out on social media for refusing to tag her. According to reports, the designer was allegedly asked to choose between being tagged and getting paid N400,000 (GHC3,856). She however, chose N400k (GHC3,856) but begged to be supported as this was her debut at the AMVCA and she had spent a lot to travel with her team from Enugu State to Lagos State.

There are updates to the story. The designer was Yoli Koomson(a Ghanaian) got the concept together and Heidi Lee ( a Chinese) made the 3D designs. Ezinne made the brown undergarment and due to Yoli's flight issues and the delicate nature of the dress, they contacted Ezinne to put the pieces together under Yoli's instruction.
Ezinne chose the money over the tag.( Remember that tags are also a source of income for celebrities).
Ezinne also charged everything including the lunch with no discount.
Nonetheless, the celebrity( Nana Akua Addo) still tagged Ezinne but she told them to remove her name because she didnt want to "share the shine"
Well now Nana's lawyers have called for a retraction of the defamatory posts or else she will sue Ezinne.

    Dear Stylists,
Get it now, you either pay a MODEL PRICE and take all the model agreed pictures and videos or you are simply COERCING YOUR CLIENT whether Clothes, Hair, Nails NAME IT… when you are being paid for your service let the Client BREATHE! In Hospitals it’s unethical to request the patient that you are caring for directly to be involved in a STUDY that you the professional is conducting as even if they don’t want to agree they will agree for the fear of their safety and other factors.

Absolutely! if you don't want to tag, then don't add a tag at all. if you add a tag, then do it appropriately. by saying inner by anonymous, then final look by ABC...

Eating their cake & having it is what people want these days. Now in Black America, many braiders will braid hair for full price, & when done, take pictures & post it online to promote their business, which is wrong. Traditionally, if a business wants to create marketing/advertising /promotion products like video or pictures, they hire models, do everything on them for free & pay them, but these days everyone is hustling their way through everything...

If you request that you don't want your picture taken, no one will force you.

@@pare5108 it’s still coercive, the client is in your space and definitely fears for their physical and psychological safety.

Personally, I do not believe her…. Reason because, her approach to her Ghanaian stylist will be more favorable than the Nigeria one. Also, she outsmart the lady by her offer. Tag or no tag now, she promoted the Nigeria stylist. There’s nothing wrong in tagging her even if she agreed to collect money, it would have been a mutual understanding…
