- Elon Musk has JUST revealed Tesla's Next Generation Cybertruck Motors which have shocked the entire automotive industry. Tesla's motors are some of the most advanced and efficient in the market, with a focus on energy efficiency, and performance. However their new Cybertruck powertrain targets cost savings with some unconventional design decisions that will dramatically reduce cost and allow Cybertruck to scale at an insane level. Cybertruck's new platform includes a unique permanent magnet motor and induction motor with hairpin design, 1 inverter, and 1 gearset with a locking differential. It aims to finally compete in the pickup truck space with Ford, General Motors, Volkswagen, and Toyota with an INSANE drive unit that will mean GAME OVER for the legacy pickup truck players. #tesla #ElonMusk #electricmotors

i saw Elon once at an event, he came in, and said, ya, we can improve this 10 fold, we just need to change these variables here in the equation and arrange these atoms correctly, and all be darned, he did it :)
he is not an engineer, his engineer did it!! beside that, now he fires his employee per Mail, disgusting behavior! the Cybertruck quality is lowest level, and EVs are not a great challenge to produce, that's why even smartphone producer start to build EVs. He purchased Tesla in 2006, the same with SpaceX, "co-founder" of Paypal, but he was not a founder, he brought only the money!!! hype about people that are born in a family with enough money, everything is simple!
Worth waiting for. Thank you
Apparently, the induction motors in the rear of the cyber beast are geared with a much higher ratio maybe 15 to one instead of nine to one.
Yes, discussed in the video
The good thing about the hybrid truck power systems is the heat/cold tolerance and cost savings.
Diesel is making a huge comeback new economic system
thank you for a very interesting video
Before we get to the magnetic loss this is winding loss. It compose of copper ohmic and copper eddy losses. Eddy loss is mistaken as skin loss in terms of ohmic factor.
Conventional: Skin depth is model as the proportion of cross sectional copper area depletion as frequency increases.
Actual: A conductor doesn’t require electron as a carrier of electric charge, unless we need charge to move (migrate) between electrodes across a vacuum tube. (Cathode ray tube). So electric charge is extrinsic attribute of copper wire. (Faraday already demonstrated there is no charge inside of a metal cage, so as a inside of copper)
When charge start to move it induce a current into the core of wire and this is eddy current. When eddy current encounter copper resistance we have ohmic loss. Also eddy current intensity is directly proportional to the operating frequency. Also the more surface area a conductor has the less is the eddy current. Also multi turn winding or stranded wire has more surface area per length compared to solid wire. Hence less eddy loss.
Skin depth loss came from eddy loss.
Hairpin motors .... tesla did not invent these to be coppied by gm. Its more the other way around. While true tesla may be innovating in production tecniques
I think, but do not know, that you are correct. BTW, I do not think GM invented the hairpin winding concept either. It has been around for many years.
Musk focuses on cutting edge stuff. He's not interested in mediocre stuff like mass marketing a good enough car or truck, it's the best or nothing for Elon.

And if it springs a coolant leak, some dealers are refusing to warranty the leak, even after on 90 days? You buy something that expensivve and they refuse to warranty its malfunctions?
So he has to sue them to get warranty work on something that shouldn't have happened?

Tesla is the best car company ever! No gas stations, No oil changes, No smog check, No corrupt dealership, No catalytic converter and as fast as a $650,000 Lamborghini ..
I’ll be impressed when it’s got a lumber rack and a wheelbarrow in the back . Now where is the other $ 8,000.00 Tesla pickup?
Thanks! Very concise summary of tons of information from a lot of different sources. This must have taken an incredible amount of work.
Very valuable!
General Motors was the 1st oem auto company to use the hairpin electric motor in 2008.
GM was followed by Audi and Porsche in the early 2020s. Tesla was late to the party.
are all hairpin motors the same?
@@Andrewk950 I doubt it.
Go Elon, Go Tesla.
Elon doesn't do anything but argue with kids on Twitter. More like, Go Tesla Engineers, which Elon is not.
@@maximusasauluk7359- They are not mutually exclusive. Elon is both an ass and a good engineer. Sure, his degree is in physics, but I, a mechanical engineer slightly his senior, have heard him speak enough to know his depth of knowledge.
I hate videos with the SHOCK word 👎
Agreed. It's time to overuse some other world, getting tired of shock / shocking.
Maybe you ought to produce your own content…😁
I don't want to shock anyone, people are so easily shocked these days.
@@G41251 i'll try 👍
Amazing machine, there are a lot of ignorant people making negative comments. Drive one before you speak garbage.
What's shocking is the fact that's it's not more efficient than motors in use for several years.
Once again, Elon, focusing on exactly the wrong thing! People are not buying Tesla cars because the motors are too weak or inefficient. People are not buying Tesla cars because they can’t find chargers in a reasonable time to get their cars charged. What did Elon do? He fired the entire supercharging team at Tesla because he doesn’t focus on the overall big picture of what is important about electric vehicles, namely that they need to have some range and they need to fit comfortably into peoples lifestyles.
Elon is doing the very same thing at SpaceX! He is focused on developing the raptor three the raptor for the raptor five. I guess he thinks that if he has the biggest most powerful engine in the world, everything else will fall into place. But the problem is that after four years, the starship heat shield tiles still fall off during lunch and they break in flight. The only thing unique about starship is rapid reusability Objective. Unless SpaceX can come up with a tile design that works perfectly every time so that starships do not need extensive heat shield repairs after every flight, then starship will be a complete failure because there will be no rapid reusability. El apparently doesn’t understand this because he’s a doofus. He should be laser focus not on a new raptor injured design. He should be laser focused on a heat shield design that actually works and supports rapid reusability. Unfortunately for Elon it might just be the case that there is no cost-effective heat shield use a current materials that can do this. If that is the case, starship will be a complete and utter failure. Starship will be like a Tesla, stuck by the side of the road because it couldn’t find a charger.
Evs are not cars
Sales are DOWN....what else you got??
So what? Is it the end of the world? Goofy mofo.
How soon can you get a CyberTruck if you wanted one?
Hahaha
Sales are down across the cars sales...
Never let a crisis go wasted.
Pump it up, pump it up, pump it up...
I saw a mechanic taking a cyber truck apart. You really need to be an electrical engineer to work on these trucks. Repairs are going to be a fortune. I wonder what the resell value will be after a couple years of use as an off-road cargo hauler.
Off road cargo hauler? How many people have ordered one for that use case?
Until a new work force comes into being. It's not like there were mechanics that could work on a ICE car when they were new either.
I'm actually considering unsubscribing from the channel due to the nonsense clickbait titles - this video is a classic example. Keep it real thanks.
Watch and learn and shut the f.. up
Plenty real enough for me
Someone got up on the wrong side of the bed today.
This was easily the most valuable Tesla strategic technology video I've seen in the past month. Longer.
I can't believe this is information is free.
The title has to be relevant to the text, which it is enough to satisfy that particular presentation style.
It may seem to be limiting the number of viewers, but I know nothing.
@@davidwilkie9551I agree with you, but I blame Google. These are the games content creators are forced to play.
I'll go further and say that much of the division and dysfunction in our society in recent years comes from Google (Facebook, etc) algorithms that reward controversy and pay creators for the amplification of false information.
In this case the information was true, but the thumbnail was not. That's fine with me.
BTW - have you paid any attention to the Google Ads? It seems like 9 out of 10 Ads are some sort of scam.
cybertruck desing is shit
To bad the charging stations are so bad and hard to find!!!
@davidthomas9267
Teslas charging aren't BAD. The few other brands out there are. Where are all of GM and Ford's charging stations? Oh, that's right. They both thought the government should pay for that
the car knows where every charging station is

You also need PM for regen...
You can regen with induction too
@@TMIOTesla no you can't. They are squirrel cage induction motors.... They can't be used to generate.
@@bikepacker9850 Squirrel cage induction motors can be used as generators when providing a reactive load, which the battery and Tesla drive electronics should be able to do.
Well, my Tesla has only induction motors and I'm sure it has regenerative braking.
@@Steppenkater must be a wound rotor induction motor...
Car testers can only achieve around 220 miles range from a fully loaded battery. That's abysmal performance considering its size.
Cybertruck doesn't represent a leap forwards in technology; rather it represents three steps backwards.
AF motors are the future.... see Mercedes. This technology is old school and uses too much copper.
The cyber truck is an ugly piece of junk.Tesle will be filing for bankruptcy by this time next year.
These type of channels are made for the Elon Musk fan boys who never got their father's approval in life.😊

Elon Musk has done things not many in history have achieved and yet some people think he is doing nothing special 😂

I believe this is restated information, clickbait, not a “new” motor.
Have a look at Sandy's teardown videos. This video is accurate. New technology, new configuration, even lower cost.
