It's a good idea to Pin a comment linking things for every video. If you ever go to your own videos, I would highly recommend adding playlists to a pinned comment on as many videos as you feel comfortable doing (like a link to the first video of a current series being watched, from the playlist link, not the single video link) and in the future. Thank you for sharing @J7Jase, though! You are both amazing!
@@resistakillcollegefootball That's not a bad idea I do that for things like aeon overdrives and such but it would be a good idea to at least show the beginning of the journey in case people want to watch it from the beginning
@@BlitzballMania and here you should add best team 2 aka the list of player you take, not to play with but so other team cant recruit them :D keep/wedge/nizarut are great for that haha you kick of the game a 99shooter and the only 2 other goal rly standing ut after nim
It's horrible imbalanced because Square team has bias favoritism and pathetically imbalances certain characters. The Ronso's for example were programmed with way to low of spd stats. Also, Tidus and Wakka are guardians that fight powerful monsters and machina and are way stronger than the average human so having their atk stats be so low is another inane logic hole from the developers.
In my current file, I ditched all the original Aurochs and put together “Tidus’s Angels.” A mostly female team with Tidus as the only guy. It was difficult finding strong enough girls to fill the slots, but it was so fun coming up with and executing this project as a way to make blitz even more interesting.
Kiyuri is a good free agent on SS Winno. Pretty great for mid field and then defense late level. Kulukan too if the kilika beasts don't resign her, decent mid field and defense until she gets much better late game, not great endurance.
Actually, an all female team of the following would be very competitive: Shaami Vilucha Linna Kiyuri Kulukan Miyu There aren't actually too many players ahead of them in each position.
Great series. Nice to see people are still dedicated to such a great mini game. I am playing ffx after 5 years, and at the moment I'm close to face yunalesca. After that, I will start playing blitzball again. Can't wait!
Did a playthrough earlier this year with my best mate. As soon as we got to the mihen highroad we played enough blitzball to be eligible to get the world champion for Wakka. In fact we only carried on with the main story when we ran out of gil to pay our team with.
every time i start a new game on FFX the first thing i do is to hire Miyu as goalkeepr, Ropp as defender, Brother as mid fielder and Wedge as striker, those for me are the strongers free agents out there.
I'd also recommend Zev Ronso (the free agent Ronso on Dock 5 in Luca). At the beginning, he's got awesome endurance and is a great shooter, who will morph into a defensive player as he levels up. Nedus (the masked Al Bhed in one of the Luca docks) is also great; despite being slow at 30 SP, he ends up becoming tied as the fastest player and is a great shooter at all levels. Vilucha in Besaid is the second best forward in the game and you can use her throughout all levels. Like, she gets better at shooting than Tidus and his Jecht Shot techniques, so that's saying something.
@@midnytemassacre Not so much. I could have sworn Nimrook was first, and then the Beasts goalie was second best, at least for catch. Maybe you mean 2nd best overall and not just for catch?
Steven Burkhardt Yeah it's something i've wanted to do for awhile :). I thought about making a team that's all speed which would have Brother I just don't think Brother compares to the other players at this level. He is an amazing starting to mid level player though.
***** It's definitely something fun to check out I will probably use the fastest players that moderately fit that position regardless of stats just to see how mark mode can do
Brother is the best midfielder for a while. However, if you're going for an endgame blitzball team (idk, if you seriously enjoy it or are just being an insane person) then Brother has no place in it sadly.
insane. i had no idea people were so into this mini game. i freaking hated it as a kid, now that i see that theres an actual community around it it makes me want to spend some real time with it. awesome video!
@@BlitzballManiaI play FFX once a year, it’s my favorite game of all time. Recently began actually investing in Blitzball and your videos help tremendously. I had trouble understanding which stats to focus on who until I saw your vids, really appreciate it.
Spent more time just *recruiting* blitzballers than playing the actual game as a kid lol. It was so fun and came naturally to me when all my friends said it was too hard to learn. Good times 😂
I am glad you're able to save edit with these kind of games now. You play an INSANE amount of Blitzball, regardless. Edits save you the "Journey to 99" grind, as well as allow for your subscribers to ask for setups to test.
Yeah it's not an understatement to say the save editing was revolutionary for me it blasted open the doors to the type of content I could make and cool things to do
I used to play a shit ton of Blitzball back in the day. Nearly got all my players to level 99.. took me years. Honourable mentions include Shaami, Shuu, Ropp and Rin. Durren is a top goalie in the earlier levels. Linna is pretty good too
Yeah for this I was trying to build an all around good team focusing on solid stats. A lot of those players are really good with the exception of Durren dropping off hard at the later levels
BlackWingedSeraph I Like Her, But She’s Too Plain. Go Hard or Go Home. Nedus Is My A1. Besides W/ An Ending Sd of 99 & Sh of 74. Who’s Gonna Catch That Guy???🤷🏽♂️
saelaird 2 goals per game (1 per half since you regen after half) for like first 2 games. After that, Tidus can start using that shot like twice per half. It’s also the most ridiculously OP skill in game.
+Michael Whitley Ok so this may be a long post haha. First i'm thinking about starting a Final Fantasy X lets play on my other channel Mister Schticky. For this channel though possible content is a journey to level 99 with every team in the game with original players, flavor text of released players throughout the game, an entire lets play of an all girls team, the worst blitzball team you can draft, a randomized team which would be almost impossible to win with as we could draft like tidus to be goalie on it or balgerda as our forward, the best starting team in Luca, and the best starting team when you have access to all the players. These are just a few ideas but all these ideas will take a BUNCH of time to see fruition so right now i'm taking it all one step at a time. Haha this is actually why i'm worried about people subscribing because with the amount of content I plan on releasing I don't want people feeling like i'm spamming them.
Oh okay well that sounds cool. I'd definitely be down to see the let's play. Journey to level 99 with every team will be time and Gil consuming lol. I'm definitely wanting to see the 99 aurochs team considering personally I never got them that far cause well let's face it they're kind of bad. You have really good intentions bro and I'm excited to see what's in store!
How to utilize Wedge’s recruitment: 1. Hire him as a shooter from level 1 to 15~20. 2. After level 20 and before level 50~60, use him as a defender. Even though his PA is extremely low, his high EN, AT and BL at this point make him a great defensive player. You can always equip Nap Pass 3, which is one of his starting techniques, to boost his PA. His AT is almost as high as Judda’s from Al Bhed Psyches!!! All you need to do is win a tournament, earn a Tech Find and let him learn Tackle Slip 2. With this technique, he will become a beast. You can also let him learn several Tackles to boost his AT as well. 3. From level 50~60, win some more Tech Finds to let him learn Super Goalie, Grip Gloves and three Antis level 2 and he will become an unstoppable goalkeeper. I guarantee you at late levels, he is as competitive as Nimrock.
The only issue is that when it comes to a GK, the only stat that actually matters is CA, and Wedge just never has more CA than Nimrook, at any point. He's a great back-up, if you can never get Nim free, but he's never going to be the best first option. I do love Wedge though, being able to recruit him immediately and hold onto him from 1-99, as you've pointed out, is outstanding usefulness
My strat was to use Brother to lure all the opponents away from the goal then pass to Tidus and shoot. I forget what formation i would use but it’s a guaranteed victory every time. Gotta have decent techs also.
Brother is unstoppable. I put him on left wing and yeah it aggros the entire opposing team to that side, he can pass across to Tidus on the right and easy score every time. The rest of the team is speed defense MidFielder and two defensemen Nav G/Naida/Kyou (Ropp in reserve for Naida switch out and Larbeight in reserve for Tidus switch out)
Agreed. Blitzball Mania did the Guado to 99 series and they were practically the best team, from the start. Nimrook is the only problem to get a perfect play through, as well as all the Al-Bhed. They're the true BEST team early. Not the Goers. Haha.
Let's just be glad Nimrook took up Blitzball instead of being a guardian. Could you imagine a Nimrook SIN going around blocking people from entering cities?
One of the most luckiest recruiting moments I had was when the Al Bhed team kept on releasing their best defender players while I reached the point of the ship. I recruited the Al Bhed players in the ship and played nonstop to get several items. Several shooters can't break through the Al Bhed defenders so I was winning like nothing.
The Al Bhed defenders definitely do level up to be formidable as well as having some impact at the lowest levels I'm actually at a weird point in the game myself I want Nimrook to get experience but Judda and Lakkam keep on blocking everything haha
It's not even a problem to beat them as soon as they release Nimrook, at least in my experience. They do have a pretty great overall early team, though, so I will agree they get easier as they release any of their players.
I'm sorry, were you high when you excluded Vuroja/Kulukan on defence and put Mifurey? Apart from that: -Brother doesn't have good stats at 99, but with the speed he has, he can LITERALLY get all opponents team chase him leaving your attackers open in front. -Linna is a freaking beast, super strong shot, super strong pass, super strong skills. As long as she is unchallenged, chances of scoring are 100%. -Ropp is just a defender to me, I use Linna in the midfield. The reason being her SH 99 with her Nap Shot 3. She can easily score on the kickoff, and even if she doesn't, the GK will go to sleep, and then even your defender can take a shot with 1SH and score across the whole field.
No u cannot score across the whole field with 1sht. If your shoot gets decrease down to 0 and the goalie is asleep the ball will hit the goalie instead.
It's a video on Blitzball Mania's thoughts on the perfect Blitzball team. No one was "high" in the making of this video. Saying sorry BEFORE saying something rude makes the apology mute. You are correct in your analysis of the characters. Brother and Keepa are the only two people who get max speed, while Datto, Nedus, Mifurey, and most of the Guado come close. However, brother is a wasted position because while he may be able to outswim everyone, it takes a lot of time to gather the opponents and THEN pass it to one of your forwards. Instead of that, the position can be taken over by one of the high shot players, as you mentioned with Linna. Putting the goalie to sleep on a failed shot allows anyone to make a goal, as long as the shot is AT LEAST 1 by the time it REACHES the goal. Shooting with someone with only 1 shot from anyone EXCEPT IN the opponent's goal, it will wake the goalie, as 001Tdog mentioned. Please be a bit more considerate when talking to people, especially when opinion is opinion, not fact.
@@infiniteaaron lol 1) "Sorry" doesn't always mean apologizing to someone. Sometimes it is said when interrupting someone's speech because it indicates something else is more important. Sometimes it is used as a response to something you didn't hear well while talking to someone and you want them to repeat what they said. Sometimes it is used before asking a question on a subject that is discussed when you didn't understand what was said. In this case I did apologize for anything and I didn't even insult anyone, I asked a simple question - "were you high?". A lot of people like smoking and that is fine, but it does limit the brainpower - and that is a fact. Vuroja is a BEAST in def as is Kulukan compared to Mifurey. Never did I say "YOU'RE AN ID10T, HOW COULD YOU EXCLUDE VUROJA HURRDURR!!!", so read again and understand it better. 2) When I said 1SH I meant the SH value when the ball is entering the net. Obviously 0 means it will wake up the goalie. 3) Brother is not obsolete. While it does take time, it is 100% effective against literally anyone, and if it is 100% effective, it means it is 100% not obsolete. So what if it takes time? 1 goal is enough to win a game, doesn't need to be 7:0, and also, every time there is a menu to shoot/pass/block/use skill the time is stopped, and if you're just swimming around with Brother after a goal, the game will end faster, a win is secured.
Got this again in YT suggestions and decided to rewatch, I REALLY feel this needs an updated, maybe more in-depth remake. Like I remember talking with you about this a while ago but for example I feel like Brother might be overlooked/underrated at high level as a defender, he's one of few viable defenders against speed teams with Datto/Nedus as the forwards, also his speed allows to force encounters with more base-speed defenders. Ropp IS nice though since he's one of the only defenders with enough power to threaten the really bulky shooters like the Kilika Beasts duo, these two don't care about anything under 70 power. But yeah I feel you could make a really interesting video similar to this but also explaining like different players that have good "synergy" with eachothers and like the "top 5" viable players for each position and yeah who goes well with who and why. Like that team is good but there are many other players "worth mentioning" like yeah Datto/Ropp, Kulukan Vuroja Isken and many others
I could see your point on this maybe we do a video like "The Perfect Blitzball Team Revisited". To be honest the more I play the more I think you should just have Tidus in the midfield and 4 defenders in the field
Zev ronso is my go to mid fielder he gets me the ball 80 percent of the time at the starting catch and also he is high pass block and shooting his endurance is good also generally a good player all around i sometimes get a goal with him he is a good supporting player 😊
@@BlitzballMania yes i just started playing again my file accidentally got deleted on cloud and console so had to start over i had all the monsters and celestial weapons upgraded i don’t mind thoe this file is better i already maxed all characters first sphere grid and im just before Gaudo Salam just have to complete Riku first.
Its been a long time for me but I remember being able score like 30 points in a game. With Nedus and a fast defensive team, it is possible to score up to 30 points or more. Swimming at speed of 99 is faster than the ball travel speed. Therefore, swim right next to goal and shoot. When passing, swim right next to player you want to shoot, than pass. Nedus, Brother, Navara Guado are vital to have. Nedus is the shooter. Also get rid of tidus and add the three best goalies to the team. Nimrook for the goalie and the other two to warm the bench so that no other team can use them. Right from the get go, when you get the blitzball, just swim straight to the goal and shoot. The defenders don't swim fast enough to turn and catch a player swimming at 99 speed. Again, 99 speed swimming is faster than a shooting balls travel time. Speed also bypasses many stats in the game like attack... cus they can't catch you. and pass stat is made pointless cus its faster to swim. Set everyone on mark mode on the same forward. Alternate between mark mode and forgot the other modes. Mark mode: everyone marking a single forward gets your players to cluster closer together. This helps to get as many players to attack the ball carrier at the same time. Your offense is never a problem cus the moment you get the ball back, you will score in a matter of 5 seconds by torpedoing to the goal and shooting-Literally 5 sec or less... Its the defense that needs the focus which is why i use the mark mode to cluster my players than change it back to another mode that gets them closer to the guy with the ball. I almost always had at least 3-5 players stealing back the ball for me, usually 4 players. The speed stat is OP and breaks the game. Id say that your team is the most fun and best legit team (only change i would make for myself is to kick out tidus from the team and add another defensive player like Auda Guado or another good defender and i would still recruit the next two best goalies and have them on my bench so the other teams can't use them) its debatable what team is ultimately the best when comparing anyones team to the speed team. At level 99, Nedus is arguably the best forward in all of spira. two things they never should have added to the game, Jecht shot 2, and players with speeds over 77. They also needed to fix the few glitchs and cheats in the game like mark mode on their goalie, hiding behind your goalie, and the invisible shot glitch that guarantees a shot. And it would be nice that if you use a shot with a long shot animation... i doesn't waste the clock, just like when you break through ppl it doesn't waste the clock.
@@VishusVenom I dint remember the exact number. But if you level nedus up to 99 in one or two games by passing. You can get him up to lvl 99 while everyone else is still low lvls. This is when I was able to score high goals. Swim straight up to the goal. Right next to it and shoot. Don’t do a shot that takes off time. Then use my strategy to pile on to one guy so you get the ball as fast as you can. Then swim right next to the goal and shoot. I think my strategy was to mark mode one player so that all my players can bunch up together Try it out and get back to me with how many goals you were able to shoot in one game. I remember at least getting into the 20+ zone but I thought I was able to reach 30. This was a long time ago.
@@VishusVenom when you pass lvl. Make sure your characters are in an area where the npcs will not Agro. And make sure to get both of your characters right next to each other as you pass so that they are literally touching. Keep passing and be quick to get as many passes before the time runs out. Do this until nedus is lvl 99. He’ll be god lvls compared to all the other npcs. Always swim right next to the goal though. The ball is slower than nedus swim speed. And never do a fancy shot. When you swim next to the goal, you can do this without agroing the defenders. Actually try it first so you can get the conclusive. Otherwise you are just rejecting this based on your belief. Speed is The most broken stat in this game.
For me its Tidus & Shaami/Larbeight on FW, Tatts Zev or Nav for MF, Ropp and Kiyuri as DEF, Nimrook Goalie. Shaami is a huge force to get you started while ending almost on Larbeights level. Midfield is dependant on preferance where Nav is your quickest solid option, Tatts is an amazing jack of all trades with Zev being a sheer beefy midfield beast. Def you can use Kulukan to free up Kiyuri as MF alternatively. Nimrook is a no brainer with only Wedge being an alternative.
Yeah Nimrook is just the best goalie no matter what I feel like Tidus is also one of the no brainer best forwards because of his unique abilities. I don't love Tatts and Shaami at level 99 but they are monsters early on.
@@BlitzballMania Shaami is absolute S tier early on while not ending lower then A tier lategame for me especially when you get Larbeight allongside it you have different options to go for a high att frontline basically intercepting from blitz off. Tatts same deal i guess as Tatts and Svanda are true beasts early/midgame while still being toptier competitors lategame, you can argue lategame Zev is better but Tatts is still allaround solid with standout stats in all departments. I notice i usually end up with 3 strikers as they tend to level up the quickest and easiest especially with the high Att values im running. Another no brainer for me is Ropp who is hands down the best mid/def in mid/late yeah sure arguably he isnt an absolute beast early on but he is a very solid allaround strong player.
@@BlitzballMania My current file ive picked up Kulukan so its Kulukan and Ropp on Def with Kiyuri on Mid and my 3 options as strikers being my standard go to setup in Tidus Shaami and Larbeight once he becomes available. I have to admit ive wanted to run a 8 man squad including Wedge to level him into the 2nd strongest Goalie but never really end up doing it as by that time Nimrook will always be released somewhere allong the way.
I just compared Linna and Ropp and I see your point for sure her attack and endurance are definitely not as high as Ropp's, however her attack is decent so there's a chance you could form a more offensive blitzball team with her as your middle. Shehe would be a character who would need Golden Arm and whenever she gets the ball she would need to shoot very quickly because of very low endurance. She is probably interchangeable with Ropp however I would stick with Ropp just because he has that slightly higher endurance which makes him more likely to take tackles and survive them but if you're looking to shoot at every opportunity she would be a great addition as the midfielder..
@@adamjones5931 In a competition of who is better offensively between Mifurey and Linna it's definitely Linna coming out on top but I like Mifurey for the role just because of Linna's endurance. It's definitely a debatable point Linna will lose the ball if she is ever tackled but a 70% chance to not be tackled is insanely high
Mifurey is my 7th player. I keep her for those occasions when I'm bored of scoring 10+ per game with Linna, and I swap her in to provide some service for Larbeight and Shaami, who barely get a sniff of the ball if Linna's in the side.
You mentioned Larbeight having the highest shoot outside of keepa. Linna actually has 92 shoot, and the only real weakness she has is that 27 EN. AT is solid at 60, PA is 99, BL is 61, and SP is a manageable 59. I'm curious if you have ever used her. I can see why you would go with Larbeight over her, because even with tackle slip 2, that 27 EN is scary lol
her endurance is way too weak. with tackle slip 2 she is gaurenteed to lose the ball when that 20% chance happens. The other stats that she has strong are not as important for a forward. Larbeight with his endurance alone can probably break through 2-3 ppl but with tackle slip 2 he can break through an entire team. You can't do that with Linna unless your very very lucky. if her endurance was at least 50+ than i could see giving her a chance.
END is hardly necessary in blitzball when it comes to shooters to be fair. Sure, it helps if you need to get close to the goal, but often times the goalie's CAT isn't that threatening. Linna excels in these situations. Because her Att and Blk are so great, she can often steal the ball and immediately shoot afterwards for a goal due to her crazy SHT. If she does come across defenders, you can easily just Pass the ball away with her CAPPED pass stat. Personally, I wouldn't use Tidus at all because his Att is such crap. It's faster to just steal the ball and shoot immediately. And if we're talking about Blitzball in general, where most players won't even be near the level cap, Linna is by far one of the best players for getting players through it.
@@CrumbsLamond Linna's endurance is awful, which means when the game uses her against you she's easy to take the ball from in an encounter. A player could make better use of her but why bother when there are much better scorer choices like Tidus, Larbeight, Isken, Vilucha, Mifurey, Shaami. Linna's speed of 59 is below average so she doesn't make for a particularly great defender either. Speed is king in blitzball.
Maestro Dicethrow What do you mean? Datto was my best scorer when I kept the original team in one of my past files. The member that didn’t seem to have much going for him was Letty. Keepa was a great goalie, Botta and Jassu defended really well, and Tidus and Datto cleaned up on offense.
@@michaellyle859 see i messed up didnt pass him the rock enough so everyone in the league was like lvl 30 when he was lvl 10. Still the fastest guy on the team and he put goalees to sleep.
Question: How do you level players that are way behind? I just signed Svanda and she's level 1. My entire team and all the opponents are level 10. It's so hard to insert the player in a game when she's that low.
What Tyler said is like the best way the only other way is having an opposing team sign them if they do then the opposing team will level them up to the average level of your team within 3-5 games
I've built my 'perfect' team based purely upon stats and playstyle. I've specifically opted not to use Tidus because his Jecht Shot 2 is basically cheating, and if you remove that from the equation he's actually not that good stats-wise. I've ended up with: Larbeight Shaami Linna Ropp Nav Guado Nimrook Let's face it, it's a mathematical fact that Larbeight's the best forward, Nimrook's the best Goalkeeper and Ropp's the best defender, so they need no further discussion. The rest of the positions, however, are open to personal preference based on how you want to play. I like to be hyper aggressive. Shaami - Mathematically speaking, her shooting and endurance aren't quite as good as Vilucha's, who is arguably the second-best forward mathematically, however, they're really not far off and her main appeal above Vilucha is her slightly higher speed and her much higher attack, allowing her to better contribute to winning the ball after Blitz-off. Endurance becomes a bit of a non-issue once all of your attacking players have access to Tackle Slip 2 and when your shooting is as high as 88 it'll hit 95 with a level 3 shot, so she's got everything she needs. Vilucha can't offer the same utility. Linna - Has massive attack, passing and shooting stats. If she gets the ball at Blitz-off she can immediately shoot with a level 3 shot for 99 and score. If she doesn't get the ball at Blitz-off, she'll combine with Shaami and Larbeight on offense, both of whom have some of the highest attack stats of any other forward players, and easily win the ball back, which she can then immediately shoot with. In fact, in most of my games, she'll score every single one of my goals, with my record being 17-0 (all Linna). Give her Nap Pass 3 and watch her knock the entire opposing team out if she gets caught by multiple players. In a single challenge, Tackle Slip 2 wins the day. Shoot. Score. Sadly, she can be a little difficult to sign up, as you'll need to beat Dark Shiva to get to her once you've acquired the airship. Nav - He's fast. Very fast. He also has a decent attack stat, and the highest block stat in the game. Combined with Ropp, no forward in the game is going to score past this duo. Ropp will almost always win the challenge, and if he doesn't, or they don't allow him to challenge, there's no way the shot or pass gets past Nav's block without being reduced to nearly nothing. Nimrook's the most bored goalkeeper in Spira. Honourable mentions go out to Mifurey and Kiyuri, both of whom are incredible all-round midfielders, but they just don't have the shooting power that Linna brings to the table. I'd recommend giving the above team a go if you can secure the players. It'll only work well at very high levels though, at lower levels the team is pretty awful.
I could definitely see that reasoning for Tidus if i'm honest the main reason Tidus is on mu team is because of Jecht Shot 2 if he didn't have that he wouldn't be on the team. For Shaami I could see higher attack being a factor I think it's kind of underrated having forwards that are good at defense in the front line after a goal it's the first people the opposing midfielder will encounter. Linna definitely is good offensively honestly this is the perfect team in all the traditional positions but i've considered shying away from a traditional setup and having two defenders as my forwards and Tidus in the midfield I think thia is kind of an opposing philosophy though to having Linna on the team. Nav Guado is fast and his block is insane that's definitely one of the defining reasons I have him on my team.
Remember Linna has everything she needs to be a good defender also, 60 attack and 61 block put her up there with some of the best defenders in the game. Add in her 99 passing and 92 shooting and she can literally play in any position other than goalie. It's fun playing her at the back, stealing the ball and then slamming it into the top corner all the way from your own goal haha.
I've recently gotten bored of having actual defenders and I've dropped Ropp and Nav in favour of Kuyuri and Mifurey, both of whom have invisible shot but also pretty good attack and block stats so they're no slouches at the back of the field. All five of my outfield players are now a serious goal threat. It's a lot of fun.
nice team! my personal preferred level 99 team is: Nedus Larbeight Ropp Nav Guado Irga Ronso Nimrook I know there's solid arguments for Kulukan and Vuroja, but personally i kind of like not having double-ups from other teams on my roster, and the Ropp/Nav/Irga defensive core is pretty ironclad anyway
Nedus & Nav Guado are insane just due to speed for sure as well as other stats. Irga is slow but apart form that has very good defensive stats. Ropp, Larbeight, and Nimrook I think are just best in their role due to stats outside of speed
Cool to let Ropp be center player. Nimrook is the stronget goalceeper, but it is kinda fun to play against him, cause he initially does have no protection against wither and sleep. Since You let him learn those techs, it wont be good to let him go. My favorite Kilika player is Kulukan. I use her the same way You use Ropp and sometimes I let Nav be forward player, so he makes a very strong defensive combo with Kulukan. That is especialy when facing strong teams. Tidus has been using wither techs and Pile Wither for interesting effects, especialy when reducing goalkeeper's performance. Mifury is also one of my favorite players and she is also on defense, cause her speed is simply not good enough for center, until she gets at high level. I hired her at level 1. Man, took some work to get her up in level. Wakka is a fun player to have around. Can be a pain to get up in level too, cause he will only play for Besaid Aurochs.
Yeah I definitely think Ropp as the mid fielder is really good after looking at this team I would almost like to suggest uaing two defenders in the forward positions and having one offensive forward because you dont often need to use both forwards and often times a good defense beats the offense
After the experience is granted and everything is done clicking just makes you continue to the next screen it doesnt actually affect your team in any way
There isn't really any competition between these two, though. Final Fantasy wins every time, even if they were in the same genre. If you're referring to Blitzball vs Pro Evolution Soccer, then it's still Blitzball taking a commanding lead, in my opinion. It would be pretty awesome to see Blitzball be picked up as a game that is improved every year, like FIFA or PES. EA tends to suck at improving things for the good, though, just putting things out to make a quick buck, barely adjusting things... Maybe Square Enix would do a better job with Blitzball.
Yeah Brother is one of if not the best players starting out because of his speed combined with his starting stats. The only reason he isn't on this team is because late game his stats are all pretty much subpar (not including speed) and there are just better options
Blitzball Mania I'm not looking for the best lvl 99 players, just good starting stats. It would take dedication to play a game of blitzball after you get the sigil because after that there's almost no point but perfection which I'm not looking for. That's only me, you do what you want. In fact, I found it incredible that anybody would do this but I kind of enjoyed the journey but I didn't bother to comment. All I can say right now I guess is good job. Just 1 question though. Isn't mifurey annoying because her speed is shit at the start? I love it when other teams recruit her because that means that she will NEVER succeed as a defender and she can't get close enough to my goals either. That being said, she does make a great midfielder.
Yeah for sure Mifurey or pretty much any slow players are the most annoying to play with because they always encounter a lot more times than other people. I did plan on making a video with the best starting team sometime but I would personally go with Tidus(if you have Jecht Shot), Wedge, Brother, Ropp, Kyou, Jumal
kieran cow-face Brother starts off as a top tier player but fades in effectiveness. If you are creating an all-star team like the real life basketball Olympic Dream Team of 1992, then he should not be on it.
@@Matthew-Anthony He absolutely should. You know what made the dream team the best? The crushing two way play of Jordan and Pippen. In blitzball their names are Brother and Nav Guado. Brother plays Left Wing, Nav G plays Center and Tidus or Larbeight takes the scoring position on Right Wing. Naida, Kyou and Ropp are your choices for the 2 defense positions and you have the Blitzball Dream Team. Unmatched speed lets you outrun defenders, gives you ball control, unstoppable scoring and a smothering defense that absolutely swarms opposing ball carriers before they get a chance to do anything. The 2 extra player picks let us trade a little speed to make everyone on our team hit hard with tackles for 50 or better and also block passes which is key to winning some defensive encounters.
I like Irga Ronso or Vuroja as a midfielder. Irga is supposed to be a defender but is too slow, however shes got 92EN, 67AT (2nd best after Ropp), 85PA and 55BL. Stick her in MF with Brawler and Ropp+Nav behind her. Nothing gets through that
If you equip Irga with Elite Defense and Brawler while placing her as a defender, it makes up for her lack of speed and she'll catch forwards easily. Those two abilities equipped on her will prove why she is preferred as one of the best defenders at the late levels.
I Like To Start Out W/ Tats & Brother. Originally I Signed Brother Kuz He’s A Pain In My Neck. But He’s a Beast W/ An Ending Speed of 99. Also He Level’s Up Basically Every Time He Sneezes. Tats Is Easy To Level Up As Well W/ His High Pass.
Irga Ronzos speed is 42. She has almost zero chance of forced/bump encounters which makes her terrible for any forward position. Nav Guado (SPD 84 / END 65 / ATT 54 / PA 65 / BLK 82) in midfield is the best choice if you're playing 4/5 man defense and even if you're playing more offensive with 2 scorers forward, Nav should likely be your center. Nav's speed generates extra encounters against anyone except Brother, who you should have on your team anyways, and Needus who is easily neutralized by putting Brother directly opposite and putting Nav and Tidus or Nav and Larbeight in the other forward positions.
@WickedServantEbay The game AI is terrible, so every time they kick off they slam into the midfielder. With Irga being so slow it actually allows the opponent to get forward a bit more and your defenders more time to push up, so when there is a bump encounter with Brawler equipped its usually against 2 or all 3 of your defenders. If they manage to counter/you lose the ball then she can be too slow and miss the encounter yeah
Good video bro! In my personal opinion you have the best defense (Ropp have the best atk and Navara have the best blok) they 2 are amazing. Nimrook is the best goalkeeper and Tidus with the Jetch shoot are unstopeable, in this part are ok with you. In my personal opinion, Vuroja is better than Ropp in the CM position, they have the best pass and Vuroja (and all of Kilika Beast) can learn all techniques of the game they are more useful than others options. And Larbeigh is probably the better striker of the game but Isken can work better with Tidus. The Jetch shoot are unstopeable yo don't need another goaler is better complementate the Tidus shoot with a bigger Res. Isken with Tackle Slip 2 can evade the 5 players and he his shoot (80) is enough (the best goalkeeper has 60 = Nizarut. You have a Nimrook and CPU always put Wedge in the striker position). What do think about the changes? Thanks for your videos!
I have considered cutting Ropp from the midfielder position and putting someone else the issue I have with Vuroja is he only maxes out at 54 attack while Ropp has 73 in most cases what is going to happen is you are going to score and the opponent will get the ball back and run straight into your midfielder again that being said Vuroja does have better block which may be helpful but I'd have to look at the options again and see if there's a better option that i'm not considering. The only negative with Isken using his tackle slip 2 is he may get disoriented and then lose techniques including tackle slip 2 I have considered changing this drastically and having only Tidus be my scorer and then put a fast defender in the other location so that i'm always overwhelming my opponent in the encounters
Awesome exchanges! I agree that most of the Beasts are way better choices than most other players for each position. For the ability to get the most goals, Tidus's Jecht Shot is never as useful as a level 3 shot, as long as the shooter isn't be blocked, of course. Isken has better Endurance, so he's a better choice. Tackle Slip is a difficult ability to use, in my opinion, since you can become disoriented and lose abilities in the wrong situation. I feel that anyone with high shoot is more beneficial in midfield than anyone who is solely for passing, though, at least if a person is going for the most "Highest Scorer" rewards. This can be good in those RARE occasions where Tech Find comes up. Unfortunately, this reward becomes almost useless when using mostly Kilika Beasts. I'm looking forward to trying out your choices at some point! Thank you.
@@BlitzballMania Agreed with Tackle Slip 2 (and Tackle Slip) being not such a great ability to have. Personally, I hate losing techniques, so I rarely use either one. Great point on the opponent's AI always heading straight to the middle (sometimes slightly to the left or the right). Getting the ball back is clearly the main focus for getting the next goal as quickly as possible. With the forwards, though, as long as they get in on the retrieval, as well as level 3 tackles (Wither or Sleep are my favorite choices, though I understand you not liking sleep), even just one extra attacker will win the ball back. It's funny to think, though, that many times, the AI is smart enough to not give all three (or both in the even that one forward misses out on the fight) the chance to attack, especially when the block isn't nearly enough to complete the retrieval. There are a lot more factors to this game than I initially thought about as I responded to some of the people who made some really good points about alternative teams. In truth, there are a lot of "BEST" Blitzball teams, all depending on the playstyle of the person playing. I am glad you're still sticking to your guns with uploading Blitzball content, regardless! Thank you!
@@BlitzballMania You're on to it here. The fast defender you want up front on the left is Brother. I read a lot of comments in here saying Brother's stats are low. Low for what, scoring? A great blitzball team is not a bunch of scorers. A great blitzball team is one scorer that can't be stopped and a fast defense that keeps stuffing the other team's offense and taking the ball back. Brother has 99 SPD, 54 ATT and 45 BLK which means he is a defensive nightmare for the opposing team. He's everywhere, and when he teams up with another defender or two, the tackles are strong enough to take the ball carrier down and his block is high enough to interfere with passes and shots, often intercepting in 2v1 and 3v1 encounters. Also, Nav G is not being used to his full potential when you have him stuck on defense. He is the #1 two-way Midfielder in the game because of his speed and amazing defensive as well as playmaking stats. If you put him in the middle with Elite Defense and Brawler he will be everywhere (not exaggerating) bumping into everyone except Needus (we have Brother so just oppose Needus directly with him) and forcing extra encounters all day long. Brother and Nav G will terrorize the entire left side and midfield and in front of our goal when playing defense and their tackle and block stats are more than enough. Place Naida behind Brother when you are facing anyone but Isken, and Naida, Brother and Nav will stuff anything on the left side and middle. Kyou is the right side defense unless you switch out Naida, in which case Kyou goes to the left side and Ropp comes in to play right defense. OR Mifurey instead of Ropp, which would still toughen up the team enough and basically take all of the strong speed the league has, leaving just a few over 60 SPD.
Im having doubts with Mifurey. I would rather have Linna as midfielder. And have Ropp either left or right defender alongside Nav Guado. And for forward, it’s gonna have to be Larbeight. And a toss up between Nedus and Tidus.
+Blitzball Mania Hey, it's nice to see someone who loves the Blitzball game as much as I do. If I could, could I ask you to comment on your thoughts about my Blitzball team? I'd like to hear your thoughts on who I use; hell, would love to see you try them out sometime if you want! Note: I'd also like to state that although I have some of the best players, I like to give myself a challenge and let the CPU have "the best" so that way playing the game stays interesting. Here's my team: Tidus (LF, RF) Nedus (RF, MF) Vilucha (LF, RF) Zev Ronso (MF, RD) Navara Guado (MF, LD, RD) Irga Ronso (MF, LD) Kyou (RD, KP) Wedge (LD, RD, KP)
Sure thing! Of course, you always wanna get their key techniques so they get a more expansive technique list, but I will warn you that it may be hard at the beginning stages of the game. Considering your main two defenders won't be available until 14 games (Navara) and 39 games (Irga), my team is an all out offensive type team, so the Psyches and Glories will be a very hard team to fight against initially. Anyways... apologies for the long comment. Here we go: Tidus: Jecht Shot or Jecht Shot 2, obviously. Maybe a tackle tech to compensate for his weak Attacking stat initially, like Wither or Venom, so he can slow the ballcarrier down and make other defenders have an easier time getting through. As he levels up, his passing is fairly decent, so giving a passing tech isn't a bad idea. Also, Tackle Slip, because although his max Endurance stat is 80, it's not a bad idea to give him it so he's not constant tackled when you're forced to use him as your shooter. The only thing he'll really be good at in later levels is with the Jecht Shot stuff, but he'll surpass Wedge as your number one option in the early and mid levels once you get enough HP and tech slots. Even then, he's still a good forward overall. Nedus: Definitely will be the hardest to level up due to not only his very low Passing stat, but his abysmal speed for the majority of his time on your team. However, he starts off with great shooting techs like Nap Shot 2, so getting him to constantly shoot that and put the goalie to sleep is a guaranteed goal once you can get the ball back. More so if you give it back to him so he can score and gain EXP. However, once his Speed stat shoots up to him being tied as the fastest player at Lvl 99 at 99, despite his bad Passing and Attacking stats, it could be helpful to give him techs if experimenting as a midfielder; considering Nedus can catch up to almost anyone, he could use tackle techs to help your defense or be able to pass to the forwards once he's all alone. However, his shooting is better than Tidus at Lvl 99, so he's still a great choice for a forward. Vilucha: She becomes your #1 option for shooting at the later levels, but is still great at the beginning. Her first key tech is Tackle Slip, and once you get it, all you gotta really do with Vilucha is give her a bunch of shooting techs. Things like Volley Shot are great if she's close to the opponent's goalie if your other forward shoots and makes the goalie get a hand on it. Things like the Invisible Shot and Wither Shot are great choices too. In the beginning before you can get the two main defenders, she's a great choice as a back up defender. Considering in the early levels she does have good Blocking, Endurance, and Attacking, It's not a bad idea to use her as defense until you can get Navara or Irga. Zev Ronso: Being the fastest Ronso player in the game, definitely is a good choice when starting out considering he's called "the-jack-of-all-trades" free agent. He starts out with great passing techniques like Wither Pass 2, and since his Endurance and Passing stay rather great through his game, he can take a bunch of tackles or pass over a lot of defenders. In the beginning, he also has great Shooting, so he can score from a pretty far distance as a forward. But as time goes in, his shooting is not that great; instead, his Attacking stat becomes one of the highest at Lvl 99 at 65. Giving him some tackle techs, as well as his starting techs of Golden Arm and Tackle Slip and his fairly decent Blocking stat, and Zev is a great choice as a defender or a defensive midfielder. Navara Guado: You won't be able to get him until after 14 games, and it's only then if the Glories will allow him to be a free agent. But if he does and you nab him, trust me; your defensive end will breathe a lot easier. Navara, not only has the highest Blocking stat in the game of 82, but will automatically be your best passer once you get him and he starts off with great passing techniques and Golden Arm, so he can lob a pass from one side of the field, inflict status ailments to the forwards, and still make a successful pass. However, his weakness in the beginning is Endurance; it gets better as he levels up, but it's not a bad idea to get Tackle Slip or Tackle Slip 2 to handle tough attackers. Other than that, passing techs, Golden Arm, and tackle techs are all you need. Irga Ronso: You won't be able to get her until after 39 games, and it's only then if the Fangs will allow her to be a free agent. But is she worth the wait, I tell you. Irga ends up having great Endurance to where she'll have 92 at Lvl 99. Which means that despite her being the slowest on your team, she'll be able to just dribble through tackles nearly all the time. Top that with great Blocking, Passing, and Attacking stats, Irga is one of the best choices for a defender or back up midfielder. People like Navara or Kyou will compensate for her lack of speed. If you can get her to have Brawler and Elite Defense, she'll be able to get into encounters from farther away and cover up the weakness even better. Kyou: This guy is your main goalie for the majority of your team's leveling up. Get him to learn Grip Gloves and Super Goalie and it becomes hard for even good forwards to score against him. Once Wedge becomes the goalie, Kyou becomes a rather great choice for a defender. In the early levels, his Attacking stat is great, but that and his Endurance falter at crucial later levels. The only place he really shines is his Speed and Passing at later levels, because he can abuse nearly all forwards and several midfielders in those areas. With that in mind, Tackle Slip for when he's forced to get into encounters, his starting techs of Elite Defensive and Nap Tackle 3, and getting good passing techs are perfect ideas for him to stay a threat. Wedge: Will need a lot of love leveling up and playing. At the beginning, he's only good for shooting. Not only that, he'll be your best shooter until Tidus, Nedus, or Vilucha get tech slots and enough HP to do their shooting techs, so use his shooting techs. His passing however is horrendously bad, so make sure he's really close to another teammate when you pass. He does have Nap Pass 3, but using that will basically make him useless for the rest of the half. He does, however, have Regen to start, so getting the two together is a good move. Mid levels, Wedge becomes a defender. Giving him attacking techs to compliment his great Attacking stat and passing ones to help his atrocious Passing stat will do wonders with his Endurance stat too. Once you hit Lvl 80, he surpasses Kyou as your best goalie. Since he can't normally learn those techs, you should aim to win a Tech Finder and have him learn Grip Gloves, Super Goalie, and some of the Anti-techs too. Once you do, you'll have an iron-clad goalie on your team; the second best in the game.
@@MrAwesomeMatty Not too many people out here are willing to give such in depth reasons toward their choices in team. Nice job! Maybe make a video or two on your own channel for this setup. It'd be awesome to see how well it works.
My team is almost the same as yours. I had Larbeight, Vilucha or Tidus, Linna, Nav Guado, Ropp, and Nimrook. Get Nizarut so that the other teams can't recruit him, because he is the second best professional goal keeper (but the third best overall since Wedge has a catch of 62, compared to Nizarut's 60). Not only does this team have a powerful offense, but also a very good defense.
I forgot to mention that Linna should have both tackle slip and tackle slip 2 to compensate for her extremely low endurance. It is also important for her to have golden arm along with either wither shot 3, nap shot 3, or venom shot 3, which will bring her shot from 92 to 99. This will allow her to launch shots from a significant distance.
my lv 99 team to play online (if possible) would be this: nedus: top speed, good stamina and enough to defeat nomrook without having to use special shots anti-nap 2, anti winther 2, golden arm, sphere shot, tackle slip 2 linna: slow, but it's a beast anti-winther 2, winther tackle 3, nap pass 3, brawler, tackle slip 2 mifurrey: faster than normal, excellent in midfield, decent defensive stats anti nap 2, nap pass 3, winther pass 3, elite defense, invisible shot navara guado: fast defense with excellent passing qualities pile venom, venom tackle 3, venom pass 3, winther tackle 3, elite defense auda guado: another fast defender only a little worse than navara guado, but hey he's faster than most of the players elite defense, anti nap 3, venom pass 3, venom tackle 3, nap pass 3 nimrook: no discussion here for 90% of us who play this all the skills that a goalkeeper should have basically xD I would like to see other people's teams, so use me as a button to imagine our teams online;)
Definitely a strong team when you start talking about things like speed with Nedus/Nav/Auda it can definitely get busted. In all honesty one of the best teams may just be the fastest one but I wanted to make a balanced team that had more than one way to win a game I think my team has overall good stats but there are a ton of variations with the exception of Nimrook of course he's just the best :)
So these players are kind of all over below is where you would find them Tidus: Always on team cannot remove Larbeight: Kilika just outside the ship Ropp: Mi'ihen Highroad Travel Agency Nav Guado: Guadosalam running laps Mifurey: Thunder Plains Travel Agency Nimrook: Airship
Problem with Tidus is Invidible Shot/Jecht Shot 2 are completely broken. There's a weakspot in the bottom left corner that ALWAYS lets you score, even from all the way by your own goalie. Not positive if it misses if SH goes down to 0 but it won't unless you have blockers. It's just better not to use those if you want a fair game.
***** That is true any shot that hits 0 will always miss the thing about Jecht shot 2 at least is it knocks out three defenders so it almost never reaches zero
Yea jecht shot 2 pretty much mean tidus can take on the entire team by himself. break past one defender, knock out 3 more, than shoot past the other one. Invis shot guarantees a score no matter how low the shot as long as it isn't 0. but if you want to dominate 30-0, the Jecht shots and invisible shots waste too much time. I prefer the nap shot 3 with Nedus.
@@alchemygal3285 there's literally no situation where you need to be scoring 30 each match. Besides, there's nothing cooler than spending the whole match trolling the other team with Jecht Shot all the time.
My all Star team is as follows Tidus (jecht shot 1 and 2) Nedus (99 speed) Naida (second highest speed among free agents, very high pass and block, with good attack and endurance) Ropp (high attack and very high pass, decent endurence and block) Navara Guado (high speed, high pass and the highest block to make a perfect balance between him and Ropp) Wedge (I pick him because I still want to be challenged at level 99 against nimrook. Keeps the games Interesting) Edit: Navara Guado became available :) Edit 2: I replaced brother for naida. Brother's stats for me are not enough for me, even with max speed
I like that goalie pick! I do think speed can just dictate the pace of the game and can be insanely strong because if the other teams can't even catch you they can't do anything
@@BlitzballMania that was a much faster reply than I anticipated, and thank you, your team is very different, but that's because we look for different things. You team is also incredibly good
Nav and Ropp are my favorite defenders! Vuroja, Larbeight and Isken are part of my squad along with Nimrook and Kiyuri. I wished that square makes a game entirely on blitzball.
@@X2.Silent I believe this is still a really strong team overall this team does a lot of things well you could replace some positions like in the backline with other players but this is still a good way to go in my opinion
If you want to become a real stickler I believe Tidus technically costs 1000 gil per game but the game doesn't charge you because you are him. It would be interesting to play through with a really cheap team though
Tidus without equipping Jetch Shot is useless. Better to take Kappa and if u want speed why not take Brother or Nedus. Btw, how do u get Nimrook to learn all the anti 2
Yeah I would say Jecht Shot 2 is an incredibly powerful shot I just like Nap Shots as well because they're quicker to shoot so you can score more per game. Also I don't take Brother or Nedus because their stats are subpar compared to other players (except for speed) in my opinion. I do think it could work well if you had a different strategy such as having an incredibly fast team mixed with a mark mode formation to target specific threats. To get Nimrook anti 2 abilities you have to win a prize called tech find. What tech find does is it allows you to choose a blank part of the technique list and grants the ability to learn that technique. The drawbacks are you don't see which empty technique slot you are clicking on so it's easier to be mistaken on which technique you've given your player the ability to learn. Thank you for watching though and if you have any more ideas I definitely love hearing them.
Brother is really fast but his other stats drop off rapidly unfortunately. You can use Brother's speed to abuse the AI's poor positioning when using manual movement but when using automatic movement the speed becomes worse. There's definitely an argument that just having the fastest players in the game is the way to go but I think having more balanced overall stats is best for the goal of this blitzball team
Examine the ball on the deck of the ship between Kilika and Luca. That will bring back memories to Tidus and he can give it a try with the ball. Not the easiest thing in the world, but it can be done.
Good luck on getting it, if you haven't already! Svend is correct in that the earliest point is on the ship between Kilika and Luca. You have to practically beat the game before you're able to return, though.
I'm currently going through and documenting all players up to level 255 I think a few opinions may be different. The one thing I feel I should have done is sign bench players in order to rob the CPU of using them. Something like we don't prefer Brother but in order to hurt the CPU he's on our bench and if you would like to use him on your team I would do this formation kind of stuff
@@BlitzballMania I just can't figure t out. It's always been this source of frustration and pain for me. It doesn't help hat I missed getting the Jecht kick
@@whatagreatday4906 Yeah it gets easier the more you play since the opposing teams don't level up as much as you. The two things I would check is make sure you are on manual movement so that you can move the players and it's a bit cheap but if you sign a bunch of one level people I believe the opposing teams won't level up as much since they go off the average level of your team
Nice! If I could give you a badge I would haha. One cool fact if you were interested the total journey clocks in at 58 hours 27 minutes and 40 seconds of blitzball so it's definitely an achievement
I'm keeping the original aurochs team but I always change botta for Kyou coz botta's endurance sucks hard. could one of you experts tell me the end stats of the aurochs an who's better botta or Kyou?
I think Kyou is the better one, in the long run, but they both have a force in blocking. For low to mid level Blitzball, I'll rec Shuu, who can be found at the bar in Luca. She's also a much better mid player than Letty btw. and can score goals due to her Sphere Shot.
After You get acces to the Airship, You can hire Wakka and the Al Bhed team. Wakka is pretty cool and he got a special shot like Tidus, wish ads 10 and the shooting stats from original Besaid Aurochs ( on the active team) to his, easyly bringing it to or close to 99. This shot can be won in tournaments. From the Al Bhed team I'l rec Lakkam and Eigaar, Eigaar will benefit from Tech Finds via tournaments to ad Golden Arm and Tackle Slip 2. There has been times, where I would not dream about playing without lakkam and Eigaar.
Lol, I’m at my 4th playthrough in 15 years, yesterday I played the first blitzball match in this playthrough and I understood for the first time what was going on after watching 4 different TH-cam videos about it. BUT this time I won that first match and I’m going for the platinum trophy so yeah, I’m out to win every major league there is out there, or whatever it is 💪
Bruh... People sleep on Datto. Crazy speed and nap shot 3. You can run circles around entire teams with just this character alone and he is an original auroch
Speed is by far the best stat in the game and Datto has a lot of it for this team I tried to balance them out as much as possible but there's an argument for just having the fastest team and trying to run through opponents that way.
Unfortunately that doesn't happen everyone kind of progresses as normal. Other players on other teams will advance according to your whole team though so if you have a game in overtime forever and then gain 10 levels the other teams will also gain those levels normally in a game or two
are you playing on ps2 or the remaster? I used to do a similar strategy, I would gather most of the opponents up and sleep pass them all. I never got up as high a level as you, but it worked fairly well.
+Nicholi Martin Yeah i'm recording on the HD remaster just to get the best quality picture and with the sleep strategy it's like the best one there is in my opinion I just wish they made the other status effects especially venom a lot more effective so there would be more incentive to use it. Anyways thanks for watching I hope you enjoyed the video :)
Yes, I recently got the remastered collection. I wanted to see about some other good characters to use. I always used brother since he was really fast.
Nicholi Martin Brother is by far one of if not the best character to use early on the only reason I don't use him is because as you level up he becomes average and then not as good as other characters.
Idc what anyone says, blitzball is the best game within a game or "mini game" in gaming history I spent more hours playing blitzball than the actual game that I beat multiple times lol
It’s because of tackle slip, there’s a chance that the player becomes disoriented, and if you attacked while disoriented you lose a technique that you have equipped. You don’t permanently lose it, just for that quarter.
Thanks for explaining. It was just a rare moment. “ Tech copy”seem more prioritized. What good game. I wonder if they got a separate blitz ball game. They should....
I absolutely hate blitzball, I'm a trophy hunter and I just want to get the best team as fast as possible for wakkas overdrive stuff. do you have any advice?
Absolutely I've been thinking of making a video for this for awhile the best starting team if you're in Luca will be LF: Tidus, RF: Wedge, MF: Zev Ronso, LB: Ropp, RB: Zalitz, GL: Jumal. When every player is available it will be LF: Tidus, RF: Wedge, MF: Brother, RB: Ropp, LB: Kyou, GL: Jumal. These are good early teams but can be just terrible later on so the best advice I can give to you to actually play with them is if you have jecht shot always use it as it can knock out two defenders and always utilize brother because his speed is insane his speed alone can carry you for dozens of levels. If you have any questions about this advice though please let me know because I definitely enjoy talking about blitzball.
+Blitzball Mania I have no idea where to get any of those characters but I can definitely look it up. also if you made a video with all this information and locations and posted it on the trophy hunting site, I know you'd get a lot of views.
I planned on making something like that but it sounds like it may be better to make something like that sooner rather than later. Thanks for the input on that though it definitely helps :)
+Blitzball Mania I literally JUST finished ALL of the blitzball stuff I needed to do to get wakkas celestial weapon maxed out and get all of blitzball trophies! I did it using the exact team you gave me and it was a hassle free breeze! THANK YOU if you make a guide showing the people's location and team setup the whole trophy hunting community will love you.
Haha that's awesome I didn't have a chance to test the team but if it worked for you that's phenomenal I planned on making a video detailing that team very soon thank you so much for letting me know what your experience was like though. Also just checking though which website are you referring too for trophy hunting?
I got a team that has Tidus, larbeight, brother, ropp, zalitz and nimrook. I think I need to swap zalitz coz he is slow and has poor EN. I'll see who else I can get later but you have an interesting squad.
Yeah I think speed on the team can really make a difference the main reason I don't use Brother is I feel like at the end of the game his stats fall off a bit
Is there a way to get them if they sign for another team for say, 10+ games? Or you just have to play 10 games and hope they dont resign? Sorry if thats pretty vague. But it always happens that nimrook gets picked up by someone else and never let go.
I get what you mean and playing games is the only way to get the players. The way around playing the games though is if you play exhibition games and then immediately press triangle and forfeit it counts as a game so what you should do is do that until Nimrook has one game left on his contract and then save. After that try to get him to resign by forfeiting another exhibition game. If he doesn't resign reload your save and keep on trying until he resigns
It depends on what level I am a fan of the thought that speed is the best stat though so I can see the appeal of Brother but his stats just don't match up at level 99. That being said Brother is the best at the earlier levels and not many people go all the way to level 99
Well... for the beginning levels, yeah. But as the game progresses and players level up, not so true. Brother will remain a beast with his speed, but his offensive abilities don't grow as strong as they need to, and he ends up being a defender at best. But at the time, there'll be better defenders that you can choose from who will be more reliable. Kyou (despite how I love him and use him as my secondary goalie and right defender) isn't really strong in the later levels either; hell, his endurance drops from its highest point and his attacking isn't as good as it should be.
Feefye Fofum Hell Ya.. I Got Kyou As My 2nd Goalie. Plus U Can Always Pull Him Out & Put Him In The Game. Besides, Let’s Face It. He’s The Baddest Looking Dude In The Game. 1st Goalie is Wedge.
Brother and Kyou are 2 of the best at 99 SPD and 71 SPD. We also take Nav G (84 SPD) Naida (77 SPD) Mifurey (69 SPD) and Tidus (67 SPD) and Larbeight or Ropp and we've got an unbeatable speed team. It can't be stopped when on the offense, and it shuts down the opposing team ball carriers and takes the ball away when on defense... FAST.
I only play until I get everything Wakka needs. All I need is his Sigil. It’s my 4th play through. This is my team Titus- Jecht shot Blappa-Great offense Brother- Speed Ropp - Great defense Naida- Speed Miyu- Great goalie
This is a solid team Brother especially speed in blitzball is incredibly busted because there are no negatives to being extremely fast and the AI will send everyone after you opening up the goal
@@BlitzballMania Thanks. I have never taken it as far as you. It might be fun this time around. I’ve had my eye on Nimrook but The Psyches won’t release him 😆
Nedus is really good due to his speed but I feel like this team is a bit more well rounded with stronger stats. Speed is really good in blitzball though and you can definitely get away with having the opposing players chase a fast player around in order to open up your players to shots
My first gripe would be that I like my goal defenders to have really high attack. Block may mean a little more at late levels because the top shooters usually have great endurance. Second gripe, not really, but this doesn't look like your back field gets any experience without just playing keep away. Keep away is kind of must anyway though. I've done speed team before but I'm thinking attack team. I might have neglected block if not watched this. It makes me wish the AI was a bit sharper really ;)
High speed on a player is good but I don't like the rest of Brothers stats. With Keepa he can be replaced by Larbeight since Larbeight essentially has 99 shoot when paired with a technique

Tied with Triple Triads!
I just got done playing it 10 minutes ago. I have won over 1,200 games in a row. It is almost too easy now.
FUCK triple triad lol at least I can figure out blitzball
Yeah I like to make an all female team too. I like to go with Svanda, Vilucha, Naida, Judda, Lakkam, and Miyu.
Kiyuri is a good free agent on SS Winno. Pretty great for mid field and then defense late level. Kulukan too if the kilika beasts don't resign her, decent mid field and defense until she gets much better late game, not great endurance.
That's a cool idea! I always just go for certain players, Ropp and Zev Ronso.
Actually, an all female team of the following would be very competitive:
Shaami
Vilucha
Linna
Kiyuri
Kulukan
Miyu
There aren't actually too many players ahead of them in each position.

I checked out some of your videos are you just looking to do a playthrough of Final Fantasy X or 100% the game i'm just curious :)
At max level..
Wedge becomes the 2nd best goalie in the game.
zation0069 Wedge is good in the beginning to middle then his stats drop

How many games did it take to get to that high level lol

@@BlitzballMania yeah. Durren disappears in the game towards the end. Wonder what happened to him

@Wayward One I can get the entire team on me, in my goal, and make the shot in every time
Nope... Jecht shot takes N enormous amount of HP to use. You get one free goal per game at the early stages basically.
saelaird 2 goals per game (1 per half since you regen after half) for like first 2 games. After that, Tidus can start using that shot like twice per half. It’s also the most ridiculously OP skill in game.
Love the video bro! Brings back the fond memories I had of never sleeping playing this game so much. Definitely hope you keep making videos.
+Michael Whitley With all the content I want to make the one thing I can promise is there will always be new videos to make :) thanks for watching!
What all do you plan to show? All blitzball or everything FFX has to offer?
How to utilize Wedge’s recruitment:
I guarantee you at late levels, he is as competitive as Nimrock.
personally i prefer wedge over nimrook
@@tahurpsych660 Wedge is the best blitzball player in FFX hands down
The only issue is that when it comes to a GK, the only stat that actually matters is CA, and Wedge just never has more CA than Nimrook, at any point.
The rest of the team is speed defense MidFielder and two defensemen Nav G/Naida/Kyou (Ropp in reserve for Naida switch out and Larbeight in reserve for Tidus switch out)
Blitzball is all about speed and attack. If the other team can’t catch you, the only stat that matters is SH.
Agreed. Blitzball Mania did the Guado to 99 series and they were practically the best team, from the start. Nimrook is the only problem to get a perfect play through, as well as all the Al-Bhed. They're the true BEST team early. Not the Goers. Haha.

They do have a pretty great overall early team, though, so I will agree they get easier as they release any of their players.
god i hope this game gets remade. imagine a remake of blitzball. it would be undeniably FFs best mini game at that point
I'm sorry, were you high when you excluded Vuroja/Kulukan on defence and put Mifurey?
Apart from that:
-Brother doesn't have good stats at 99, but with the speed he has, he can LITERALLY get all opponents team chase him leaving your attackers open in front.
@@001Tdog Exactly.
@@infiniteaaron lol
1) "Sorry" doesn't always mean apologizing to someone.
It’s the old adage…. Offense wins you games… Defense wins you Championship’s!
Haha I mean so far that is certainly not wrong
One hundred percent fam, nothing is more fun than a speed team that swarms opposing ball carriers and takes the rock back again and again
Zev ronso is my go to mid fielder he gets me the ball 80 percent of the time at the starting catch and also he is high pass block and shooting his endurance is good also generally a good player all around i sometimes get a goal with him he is a good supporting player 😊
I like Zev Ronso as an early player for sure they have decent stats as well as being very accessible early.
Id say that your team is the most fun and best legit team (only change i would make for myself is to kick out tidus from the team and add another defensive player like Auda Guado or another good defender and i would still recruit the next two best goalies and have them on my bench so the other teams can't use them)
its debatable what team is ultimately the best when comparing anyones team to the speed team.
You’ve never scored 30 goals in a game.
@@VishusVenom troll lol
@@VishusVenom I dint remember the exact number. But if you level nedus up to 99 in one or two games by passing. You can get him up to lvl 99 while everyone else is still low lvls. This is when I was able to score high goals. Swim straight up to the goal. Right next to it and shoot. Don’t do a shot that takes off time. Then use my strategy to pile on to one guy so you get the ball as fast as you can. Then swim right next to the goal and shoot. I think my strategy was to mark mode one player so that all my players can bunch up together

Do this until nedus is lvl 99. He’ll be god lvls compared to all the other npcs. Always swim right next to the goal though. The ball is slower than nedus swim speed. And never do a fancy shot. @@alchemygal3285 A claim asserted without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence. And a lying 🤡 can be treated as such.
I also focus on a strong defense in order to get the ball back ASAP.
Tackle Slip 2 on Linna makes her low endurance a complete non-issue. She'll score 10 goals a game for me easily from midfield.
I just realized that Larb has 96 shoot, oops lol. Outside of that, I'm still curious about your thoughts on Linna
her endurance is way too weak. with tackle slip 2 she is gaurenteed to lose the ball when that 20% chance happens.

Question: How do you level players that are way behind? I just signed Svanda and she's level 1. My entire team and all the opponents are level 10. It's so hard to insert the player in a game when she's that low.
Get them alone and close to another teammate and spam pass back and forth. It's boring, but it works.
I've ended up with:
Larbeight
Shaami
Linna
Ropp
Nav Guado
Nimrook
Let's face it, it's a mathematical fact that Larbeight's the best forward, Nimrook's the best Goalkeeper and Ropp's the best defender, so they need no further discussion.
It's a lot of fun.
nice team! my personal preferred level 99 team is:
Nedus
Larbeight
Ropp
Nav Guado
Irga Ronso
Nimrook
I know there's solid arguments for Kulukan and Vuroja, but personally i kind of like not having double-ups from other teams on my roster, and the Ropp/Nav/Irga defensive core is pretty ironclad anyway
After a game, we have to click a player. What does that mean?
After the experience is granted and everything is done clicking just makes you continue to the next screen it doesnt actually affect your team in any way
Ok, thanks. I have been puzzled by this, but unable to find any information about it.
its Final Fantasy or Pro evolution Soccer?
both
There isn't really any competition between these two, though.
Ive always thought brother was like the best blitzball player. His speed is the most in the game meaning that you can dominate team if ur not lvl 99
I'm playing ffx again never put much into blitzball outside of wakkas stuff but how long did it take you to get them to lv 99
Around 59 hours for this journey. Exactly 58 hours, 27 minutes, and 40 seconds haha
The best tidus and waka, waka chut aurochs united and tudus chut jecht!
Nothing gets through that
Yeah I was thinking about using two defenders in the midfield so she seems to make the most sense with Ropp and then Tidus because he has Jecht Shot 2
Here's my team:
Tidus (LF, RF)
Nedus (RF, MF)
Vilucha (LF, RF)
Zev Ronso (MF, RD)
Navara Guado (MF, LD, RD)
Irga Ronso (MF, LD)
Kyou (RD, KP)
Wedge (LD, RD, KP)
Yeah i'm definitely down for making a video sometime it could be fun are there any specific techniques I should equip for the team?
Here we go:
Tidus: Jecht Shot or Jecht Shot 2, obviously.
This will allow her to launch shots from a significant distance.
my lv 99 team to play online (if possible) would be this:
nedus: top speed, good stamina and enough to defeat nomrook without having to use special shots
anti-nap 2, anti winther 2, golden arm, sphere shot, tackle slip 2
linna: slow, but it's a beast
anti-winther 2, winther tackle 3, nap pass 3, brawler, tackle slip 2
mifurrey: faster than normal, excellent in midfield, decent defensive stats
anti nap 2, nap pass 3, winther pass 3, elite defense, invisible shot
navara guado: fast defense with excellent passing qualities
pile venom, venom tackle 3, venom pass 3, winther tackle 3, elite defense
auda guado: another fast defender only a little worse than navara guado, but hey he's faster than most of the players
elite defense, anti nap 3, venom pass 3, venom tackle 3, nap pass 3
nimrook: no discussion here for 90% of us who play this
all the skills that a goalkeeper should have basically xD
I would like to see other people's teams, so use me as a button to imagine our teams online;)
Where can I recruit these players? I just got back into FFX for the first time in years and haven’t played blitz in the longest
So these players are kind of all over below is where you would find them
Tidus: Always on team cannot remove
Larbeight: Kilika just outside the ship
Ropp: Mi'ihen Highroad Travel Agency
Nav Guado: Guadosalam running laps
Mifurey: Thunder Plains Travel Agency
Nimrook: Airship
@@BlitzballMania Wow much appreciated! In your honest opinion is brother a viable option also?
@@x-Abraham-x2 I don't think Brother all around is as good but definitely works. At a certain point being the fastest can give you a lot of wins
That's true I do wish Invisible Shot and Jecht Shot 2 were more balanced. If you want to win though I suppose those are the shots to use
Definitely very blase spamming JS2 and Invisible Shot isn't very common. Just get Tidus to 99 then have him sit on the bench forever LOL
My all Star team is as follows
Tidus (jecht shot 1 and 2)
Nedus (99 speed)
Naida (second highest speed among free agents, very high pass and block, with good attack and endurance)
Ropp (high attack and very high pass, decent endurence and block)
Navara Guado (high speed, high pass and the highest block to make a perfect balance between him and Ropp)
Wedge (I pick him because I still want to be challenged at level 99 against nimrook. Keeps the games Interesting)
Edit: Navara Guado became available :)
Edit 2: I replaced brother for naida. Brother's stats for me are not enough for me, even with max speed
I like that goalie pick! I do think speed can just dictate the pace of the game and can be insanely strong because if the other teams can't even catch you they can't do anything

If you want to become a real stickler I believe Tidus technically costs 1000 gil per game but the game doesn't charge you because you are him. It would be interesting to play through with a really cheap team though
@@BlitzballMania that’s why I didn’t count him
@@BlitzballMania in that case blappa would replace tidus
@@faithfulandhopeful82 I think that would work the Al Bhed Psyches forwards kind of peak but they're good for a period
@@BlitzballMania, well he is the next cheapest. Total would be 81 Gil per game
Kappa
thanks for the tips man :D
No problem for me it's just fun making these videos
What about brother hes pretty fast and draw enemies in and leave team mates open to the goal.
I’m surprised how they didn’t just make a blitz ball game emphasis?
What about jecht shot?
Examine the ball on the deck of the ship between Kilika and Luca. That will bring back memories to Tidus and he can give it a try with the ball. Not the easiest thing in the world, but it can be done.
@@Svendskommentar You do want to make sure you save before trying this or it isn't able to be learned for a VERY LONG time otherwise.
Good luck on getting it, if you haven't already! Svend is correct in that the earliest point is on the ship between Kilika and Luca. You have to practically beat the game before you're able to return, though.
8 years later, have any opinions changed?
I'm currently going through and documenting all players up to level 255 I think a few opinions may be different. The one thing I feel I should have done is sign bench players in order to rob the CPU of using them. Something like we don't prefer Brother but in order to hurt the CPU he's on our bench and if you would like to use him on your team I would do this formation kind of stuff
Blitzball is a frickin nightmare
I'm a bit biased but I like it haha
@@BlitzballMania I just can't figure t out. It's always been this source of frustration and pain for me. It doesn't help hat I missed getting the Jecht kick
@@whatagreatday4906 Yeah it gets easier the more you play since the opposing teams don't level up as much as you. The two things I would check is make sure you are on manual movement so that you can move the players and it's a bit cheap but if you sign a bunch of one level people I believe the opposing teams won't level up as much since they go off the average level of your team
I finished the journey!
Nice! If I could give you a badge I would haha. One cool fact if you were interested the total journey clocks in at 58 hours 27 minutes and 40 seconds of blitzball so it's definitely an achievement
My team is mostly just aurochs. Undefeated.. switched Botta with wedge and that's it
Can't go wrong with Wedge!
You don’t use Brother?
Nah he has high speed but at level 99 I don't think his stats hold up.
I seriously did not understand this game when i first played it
Hahaha
Lol, I’m at my 4th playthrough in 15 years, yesterday I played the first blitzball match in this playthrough and I understood for the first time what was going on after watching 4 different TH-cam videos about it. BUT this time I won that first match and I’m going for the platinum trophy so yeah, I’m out to win every major league there is out there, or whatever it is 💪
i like blitz ball now after playing so many game to get wakka jupiter sigi
no needus? and his 99 spd and stupid high sh? :(
I still have all my Besaide Aroucs on my team and I can't wait to get rid of the extra person i have so yeah
The Besaid Aurochs are pretty solid players so there's no harm in keeping them because they're fun to play as as well
@BlitzballMania - l thought when Tidus is lvl 99 that other players automatically get to the same level, right? Or l could be wrong.
I never level up past about 30 or so back on the ps2. I am not up to getting characters in the remaster yet. I will remember that.
+Blitzball Mania brother was unstoppable for me. I used to win games 12-0
Idc what anyone says, blitzball is the best game within a game or "mini game" in gaming history
I spent more hours playing blitzball than the actual game that I beat multiple times lol
Blitzball is definitely something I spent a lot of time playing as a kid and still enjoy to this day.
Why does you lose a technique for getting tackled?
That never happened to some us., right?
Also just checking though which website are you referring too for trophy hunting?
best team nimrook, he just wins
What are people highest goals scored in one match. I managed an 18 - 0.
I believe I got around 21 - 0 but it was part of a video series where I specifically was trying to score as much as possible
In austria we have a 15-0 score without your MVPs. I wonder🥶
Where do you find mifurey and nimrook
Mifurey should be in the Thunder Plains Travel Agency and Nimrook should be on the Airship
@@BlitzballMania hey how i can increase my blitzball player
Or if nimrook is released, just dont play blitz till u get to the airship(I'm talking for those who play a ton of blitz early in the game)
Yes Linna and Kyuri or Zev could also be included I guess. Lovely team anyways
Linna's problem is endurance.. Kyuri is a great choice
As long as you've got Brother and Kyou, you'll be a beast Blitzer. All this other stuff doesn't really matter.
FAST.
so unnecessary if ur just getting wakkas weapon upgraded but still cool to see
Yeah blitzball is useful early on to get items you shouldn't be able to but to play this much you really just need to want to play blitzball
Hello future citizens :)!
I am not a future citizen. Welcome to you, regardless!
Larbeight, Vilucha, Linna, Kiyuri, Ropp and Nimrook.
I think that's a really strong team I feel like I've always been skeptical on Linna though just because her endurance never rises particularly high
Albed are the best team to recrute
I did like it👍
i use kiyuri and linna
BROTHER is the Lebron James of Blitzball
Brother is Hulk Hogans favourite player, brother
Until he gets washed up late levels
@@kyleabrams5036 washed up, lulz. he's absolute gold and should be a starter on any great blitzball team
Tidus, Wedge, Brother, Kyou, Linna and Jumal for me, so far only had an 18-0 win really want to get 20 tho
I only play until I get everything Wakka needs.
All I need is his Sigil. It’s my 4th play through. This is my team
Titus- Jecht shot
Blappa-Great offense
Brother- Speed
Ropp - Great defense
Naida- Speed
Miyu- Great goalie
This is a solid team Brother especially speed in blitzball is incredibly busted because there are no negatives to being extremely fast and the AI will send everyone after you opening up the goal
@@BlitzballMania Thanks. I have never taken it as far as you. It might be fun this time around. I’ve had my eye on Nimrook but The Psyches won’t release him 😆
Nimrook is the GOAT. The only player with more catch than Nimrook is Noname01 and that's a player you can't get outside of save or memory editing
Wheres my man Nedus as Forward or Midfield?
Nedus is really good due to his speed but I feel like this team is a bit more well rounded with stronger stats. Speed is really good in blitzball though and you can definitely get away with having the opposing players chase a fast player around in order to open up your players to shots
dude, nice! how many wins
I think I lost a couple games but around 270
My first gripe would be that I like my goal defenders to have really high attack. Block may mean a little more at late levels because the top shooters usually have great endurance.
Second gripe, not really, but this doesn't look like your back field gets any experience without just playing keep away. Keep away is kind of must anyway though.
I've done speed team before but I'm thinking attack team. I might have neglected block if not watched this. It makes me wish the AI was a bit sharper really ;)
Anyone watching in 2021
Haha I hope so there was a lot of time put into the series
I Like Nedus For A Forward.. He Is A Beast!
Wat about brother he's the fastest character in blitz ball
no Nedus is. Brother falls WAY off late game
Hmm weird. You must’ve bought the version of the game that didn’t come with Jecht shot 1 or 2, or invisible shot preinstalled... Weird....
Haha this is just the PS3 remaster. It does come with the Magnificent Jecht Shot Mark III though
Hmm no 99 speed brother in the middle and no keepa with 99 shot how can this be the best
High speed on a player is good but I don't like the rest of Brothers stats. With Keepa he can be replaced by Larbeight since Larbeight essentially has 99 shoot when paired with a technique
