      Nobody goes to Wimbledon in a suit unless you're a celeb incited to a box, but all the normal people rock up in smart casual attire, & they're general a wealthier audience.if they've got tickets to a big match even if they're up at the top, not that Asher tickets are cheap, but better. Also remember it's summer, & early afternoon whereas the play a.bit later in ny. There is a bit of a different theme style going on, like horse racing, it is a bit of an.event to show of, whereas the us open is attended only.by fans, so yes a different class of people go etc. & it looks different on.tv, but you're simplifying something as much.as, well an ignorant american would

      Tbf, most stadiums dilute their beer, firstly to get to go to the toilet mire, passing the stand,then.because you don't get drunk as quick will then be mire willing to buy another one since you feel fine, & since is spread out over time, getting drunk slower means you're less likely too get to rowdy

    I don't know why people from other countries seem to have a problem with us calling her British. She was raised here from 2 years old, calls herself British, and represents us in competitions. She says she's British and we say she's British so people from other countries saying she's not can piss off.

    'Sweet Caroline' has been played/sung at most sports stadiums in the USA for some time. Most famously at every home game of the Boston Red Sox since 1997 and always played during the 7th inning stretch. It only recently became a "British thing"... kind of like winning at football 😉

      Like was said it became a unofficial England anthem at the euros but there’s always varying songs sang at football matches anyway with words changed. So the team I support used to have a player called Andy Carroll and his shirt number was 9, so naturally you’d hear “sweet Carroll 9, da, da, daa” getting belted out every weekend and I’m sure other clubs have had other variations of it as well.

      It was quite amusing when Emma was asked what she thought of pratt Piers comments. She said 'I'm sorry, I don't know who that is' and was quite serious about it. I think most of us wish we could say the same thing, the world would be a much better place without that buffoon in it.

    Can't speak for her Chinese heritage, but my son is marrying a Romanian girl shortly and I see many qualities that both these girls possess. She is beautifully mannered and has a strong work ethic. She also speaks English perfectly and is cute as a button - at the same time being polite, confident and humble. They embrace their femininity and aren't burdened with trendy gender nonsense - go Romanian girls!

      It’s because multilingualism in general is seen as an advanced skill in Britain (because we’re so lazy), whereas it’s very common in non-English speaking countries. And yeah she does speak Romanian to her dad’s family!

My Polish friend pointed out that most major film and television shows are in English, as is most best selling music, same with books. Think about the top books from the last century and they are written first in English. We don’t need to learn to speak a second language with the same urgency.

      She was British before that, hence why she represented GB in the Fed Cup. She's been British for years. What we think she is does not matter, what she thinks she is does. At an interview she was asked what team she followed, she said she follows England. I think that tells you what she thinks.

She grew up in Britain, went to primary school in Britain, went to secondary school in Britain, and supports England in football, the way she talks, her mannerisms, her accent are all British. The British don’t “claim” her, she plays for Britain in international tournaments so she chose that herself because Britain is the country that she grew up in. That’s how it works. Britain wouldn’t stop “claiming” her if she lost, that is ludicrous.

      She grew up in Britain so she's British, simple as that. She can be British while also being half Romanian and half Chinese by heritage, and speaking her mother tongues. The biggest influence on someone's cultural identity is where they are raised, and she has every right to say that she's British, she's literally lived here since the age of two.
