Kathryn Leigh Scott? I met her in NY when I lived there. She was charming and very personable in the most genuine way. She and Lara Parker seemed very good friends and Lara was very funny and I spoke to her about Humbert Allen Astredo whom she seemed to admire very much.
Yes, KLS is a wonderful actress and an accomplished author. It was a great loss to the show when she left NYC and the show in September of 1970 to live in Paris with her fiancée, Ben Martin. However, I thought it was for the best that Dan Curtis cast new actors James Storm and Virginia Vestoff in the roles of Gerard Stiles/Judah Zachary and Samantha Collins, respectively. The two new actors added some welcome change and spark to the show. Bringing back Roger Davis (yet, once again) to play Gerard Stiles would have been tiresome. I thought it was very ill-advised to bring RD back as the obnoxious Ned Stuart, whom everyone at Collinwood remarked that “he looked just like Vicky Winters’ husband, the unfailingly understated Jeff Clark.” And, as much I respect KLS, it was just as well that Virginia Vestoff was cast as Samantha Collins, a largely unsympathetic character. If DS had continued on after the dreadful PT 1840/41 story line concluded and returned to contemporary Collinwood, it would have been great to see the beloved Maggie Evans back from her second stay at Windcliff. KLS, in one of her books, wrote that while she was in Paris, she hoped to eventually return home in the role of Maggie Evans. Ms. Scott related that she cried, when she read in a newspaper in Paris that DS was cancelled and would be going off the air in April of 1971. I think we all were greatly saddened and upset, when we learned that we would no longer be able to follow the daily adventures of Barnabas, Willie, Dr. Hoffman, Maggie, Angelique and the rest of the beloved characters on Dark Shadows.
This is when I threw back into my studies at school. When it ended, nobody cared. Nobody cared about Hallie or Carrie. Nobody cared and Dan Curtis knew it.
Yes, I think that Dan Curtis was focusing on his next project and couldn’t be bothered at all with the goings-on in PT 1840 Collinwood. (And, it really showed as DS took its last, moribund breaths during this final and dreadful story line.)
Curiouser, and curiouser! (said Alice) This story is very curious, and creepy! David dreams about Hallie in an old fashioned dress, and later Hallie finds an old fashioned dress just like it on her bed! Strange stuff is going on, and I would love to know what will happen next! However, it is bed time, and I'll watch more videos from this story line, another day! Stay tuned! ~Janet in Canada
So they come back and here is Hallie.....she seems to have pretty much replaced Amy. Did Denise leave the show at this point?? They probably needed an older girl to keep up with David Henesy's precocious skill.
Denise left DS. The characters of Chris, Amy and Sabrina left Collinwood. Quentin mentions this shortly after Barnabas and Julia return to 1970, from 1995.
@@maestroclassico5801We all loved Denise Nickerson but not that long after she D. S. she was on Willie Wonka and the chocolate factory as Violet Beauregard.
10:24 my favorite Dark Shadows leading lady returns 😍

This storyline was about 10 times too long. Watching Hallie and David go through their conniptions was excruciating.

You can see how much David grown in the few years of the show
Love how David describes the clothes lol
The music from some of these episodes sounds more like a sci fi soundtrack than the gothic wonderful music from older episodes.
9:30 is definitely not episode 1073, lol
You can be sure of that 😂

@@gothicshadowstgg Right. I figured it out as more episodes were posted.
I actually way preferred Denise ...

With all that crap going on, it looks like something will happen sooner or later.
And now starts that terrible music that gets played over and over and over ...
