    Quite a beautiful job!! As someone who can duplicate the work I have to say that you really took your time and thought the whole thing out!! I have framed, trimmed, and drywalled but I just cannot say how impressed that I am at your level of work!! Many props to you, sir!!

    Excellent video showing just how much care, attention and experience goes into these beautiful ceilings. I wonder if you could put the marks on the wood before you ship them, making the kit even easier to assemble. You could even include full-size paper patterns for the drywall. Would help homeowners like me, who might not be able to find professional drywall people who can do a good enough job. The patterns remind me of how the Medieval churches were marked out on the ground floor of the structure. Fabulous.

      Can't wait to install some of your gorgeous arches and ceilings! I have waited my entire life to do this and live in a "Medieval Cloister" of my own!

      I have no experience at doing these--- this was a one time thing for me. I don't make kits, but I'm sure there are kits out there. Contact them, maybe they are a lot easier than what I went thru. I'm sure mine was a lot cheaper, but Mine took a good while to complete! Thank you for your comments my friend---Don

    Just a correction on which side to wet. When wetting drywall you must only wet the inside curve only on the outside curve as the wetting the outside will weaken the out side paper and when you bend the dry wall it will split the outside paper and ens up cracking the sheet. Wetting the inside curve allows the plaster on the inside beneath the paper crush down while the out side paper stays strong and resists tearing and cracking. after the dry wall has been fixed into the new position the water will evaporate out and the crushed plaster on the inside curve will semi reset to the new position.

    Ditto the 2 comments below.
    Q: why do you double up on the 1/4 inch drywall ? Is one layer susceptible to cracking ?

    Must say great sheet rocking but make sure to off set the screws when making a dome they shouldn't be alliances causes to much stress to the wood but excellent video

    if you rub fiberglass insulation on the sheet rock it helps it bend. sounds like a joke but I've seen it done.

    This is really custom "tailoring" and sculpture by a most experienced craftsman and artist. Wish I could find someone around here to do this work. Do you have people to recommend in North Carolina?

    • @CatherineSTodd
      @CatherineSTodd 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Is there a different more flexible material that could be used instead of drywall? Perhaps even large sheets of something similar to fiberglass or even the auto-body spatula material, cut to shape.

      The problem with the work he did was that he didn't tape it so give it a few weeks when the house moves his ceiling will start cracking I do this for a living and I've seen many of these mistakes happen you always have to tape the joints and the cracks,
