These cars are alot more capable then people make them out to be. In canada evos are insanely expensive to buy to people mod lancers. Stock transmission (manual) can handle 400hp without issues. Most people just swap in the 4b11T for like 5-6k and and make it faster then stock evos for 1/5 of the price of an evo
Yeah, was going to say just go header back. Everyone says catback, but swap it for a hf cat when you do the exhaust. Also, camshafts from Evo x can go in base lancer.
Evo x (4b11) exhaust manifold, bolts to the 4b12 engine, which means if you can find a Evo owner with a upgraded turbo, you can take their stock setup and do a basic bolt on.
I put the rally art intake snorkel on my lancer it made the car feel a bit smoother and a little bit more rev happy definitely a must for a daily manual
The Mitsubishi lancer is going to be my first car. I’m getting this car in about 8 months it is pretty beat but it sounds great, runs great, and looks great on the inside. I’m getting it for free since it is my older cousins old car. It’s just not mine completely yet because I’m not old enough to drive. But when I get my permit it’s mine. I’m so excited to get this car. The body is pretty messed up. But I think the first thing I need to do is paint it. It has an ugly greenish blueish color. I’m thinking black. And then get the body fixed up… any tips on what to do first or what do to at all.? Thank you!
Is the car bad at 160k? I'm heading towards 100k and so far I haven't had any trouble since I've been keeping up with maintenance. I bought it last year with u 43k miles and it treated me well
I’m a lancer own and I can assure you that the car is great beyond 100k miles I’m running over 215k. Keep up the maintenance on the car, treat it well and it will do you well.
I got my 2011 lancer gts with 38k miles on it and was working at dominos at the time and still currently drive for work in my personal car and it has 248k the starter just went out recently but after 200k miles i cant complain. Its towards the end of Its life but ill gladly take nearly 300k miles out of a car i drove the piss out of. Im thinking of getting another lancer because of how reliable mines been. Its a shame they pulled the plug on these beautiful cars which will end up raising the price of them smh

I’ve got a 09 GTS, I know there are people who say “Just buy a Evo” but I just want to know if its possible, also have you had trouble with the sound system breaking? Mine doesn’t work anymore The speakers cut out after 10 seconds of starting the car.
I feel anything is possible with the right amount of money, also no I haven’t experienced the sound system breaking. I went aftermarket sound system even though mine does have the Rockford Fosgate setup.

I got mine of fb market place for $50. They’re kinda pricey now. Also check junk yards near you. There are some near me where you can take the spoiler off a junkyard vehicle and pay like 20 bucks for it.

The mods are cosmetic. Top three mods are: Air intake, headers, and cat back exhaust.
I am just missing the headers which are like $600 but got the others!

Honestly, just take your time and make sure everything is okay mechanically. Then go from there!

Not at all, I’m at 175k now and still no major problems! Just keep up with your routine maintenance

I’m currently at 106k miles on my Lancer and it’s running perfectly fine. I have not had one single issue since buying this car back in 2012.

you can put the stock evo x cams into the 4b12 and 4b11 and it'll bump up the power by a decent amount, for my gt it would go from 170 to around 205
