Zenyatta is really good IMO, it's just that like you said he relies on other supports to heal and protect them from divers. This list is pretty solid, but I do suggest people shouldn't necessarily be using this list to force or be forced to play certain heroes. I do love your explanation, and I hope people use your explanation so that more and more people would have a better understanding of the state of their support.

As a Ball-flex, having a Zen on my team is both a bless and a high responsibility. I can even overextend a little if he's not being dived, but I really need to help him if he is.
Ideal gameplay bends the rules on tier lists 🤔 Meta is meta for a reason, but there are also plenty of times to change your hero pick to counter your enemies or play around your team
Great vid! Appreciate hearing how the game is at high level coz im a low level player but I have one minor correction. Kiriko healing was not nerfed by 18%. She used to do 130 every 1.65 seconds (0.8 to shoot ofuda and 0.85 recovery), now it is 130 every 1.8 seconds (0.8 to shoot and 1 sec recovery) so the healing per second went from 78.8 to 72.2 which is about an 8.4% reduction. Without getting technical the healing nerf is even a bit less than 8.4% because the recovery nerf does not affect the initial heal burst, only heal bursts that come after.

I think Mercy still has the general support passive (just not the 50% extra) so it's not like if she doesn't heal anyone she just doesn't heal herself
Pretty sure he’s talking about her ult changes when he says that. If you’re not healing teammates while in Valkyrie you’re not healing yourself while she used to constantly heal when in Valkyrie.
Yep, she does. But it doesn’t activate during Valkyrie permanently anymore

Doesn't make any sense to me that Mercy's state should leave her as a throwpick into a divecomp meta. Surely the character who's entire design is to be a literal floating angel should not be struggling vs a funny monke/hampter led comp because of her own kit.

I get ya 🤔 but she’s not actually supposed to be undivable, if you look back to her original state she wasn’t supposed to be able to manipulate her jGA momentum to go up in the air. Then they buffed it a bunch in OW2 by making it part of the cooldown and giving every use a second directional jump. So she had over 2x as much movement as she was supposed to before
I'd move mercy and zen up one tier coming from a high level all roles player
Just shoot the mercy and you'll see how shit she is. The changes are pretty bad. A support shouldn't be perpetually afraid of healing people.
The problem with zen is that his hitbox is too big, also he has a low heal. The only thing that he absolutely needs is a movement speed buff to get behind cover faster and ad-ad spam faster.
As for his healing, it may be fine as is but i get flamed every game i pick zen because i have the lowest healing than any other support and people usually believe that more heals equals win more games. Maybe let him heal multiple people or make it at least heal at a faster rate but with a cooldown like moira orb
I think the devs want to keep him as a glass cannon so the speed buff may be out of question, while a healing buff may require a discord nerf.
That being said, I don't think he is in a bad spot, none of the supports are (maybe Brig arguably, but her ult is being reworked). He's more situational and damage oriented.

Zen is best support because he has best in role damage. If you kill the enemies faster than they can kill you, your healing output isn't an issue.
I’ve never cared if mercy is good or bad. I care a lot that she’s fun, and after these guardian angel changes suddenly she doesn’t feel fun anymore. I will never give blizzard another cent of my money unless the guardian angel changes are put back the way they were.
They should’ve just reverted to how she was in ow1 tbh

mercy is imo better if u already knew how to play her. i positioned myself correctly before (i did notice the nerf don’t get me wrong). but i 180 regardless for that change and the healing herself survivability up a lot IN team fights. the healing beam change p brutal tho cuz the minute someone that low people already gonna focus mercy cannot out heal 4 focusing them
I agree, and if mercy is pocketing a hero, it is so hard to kill that hero because of her new under 50% healing buff. The only people the changes will affect are the lower rank people who don't know how to position themselves, like you said. I agree that overall, she was buffed.
I disagree, I feel like mercys skill is mostly defined by GA. I feel like she kinda has to stand still and hide behind stuff way more now so it kinda promotes playing her as a hard pocket when I usually like to play her to fly around and help everyone but that playstyle feels extremely nerfed now, and yeah I pretty much hit GM1 solo que with that playstyle. If you have good dps though she feels fine but before she could fit into any comp way better even if the dps sucked.
@Dank:Dilly it's literally 1 second slower. It's not like they nerfed her into the ground. She needed the movent nerf she was so hard to kill when she could just instantly fly away. Yeah, you have to change your playstyle a bit. If anything, it promotes you get better gamesense because she doesn't have a get out of jail free card anymore.
