Nice DIY repair. As these cars a age they don't warrant the cost of pro repairs. You repair is about the best possible result using the basics and attention to detail. My only suggestion is fog the interior of those rockers with an anti corrosion oil. This will greatly prolong the return of the rust. Great job.
Word of advice, when painting a car. You need to account for "Blending" .... so what that means is that you will "overspray" onto an area that has already been previously painted, but it'll be a 'light' coat. This will help blend the new colour into the old. As the old colour is UV damaged and age damaged you can't get an exact match.
I'm not a bodyman, I have just gained experience from Bodymen.
Either way, great job, just minor mistakes, nothing that I'd ever worry about as a DIYer over all, but blending is a very important part of the job as it'll hide any 'differences' in colour!
This is especially important for metallic paints as the metal filings in the paint from the can will be entirely different than those from the factory, since it's all usually either "DIPPED" or Multi-arm sprayed
now that you can weld and paint you can start doing "rebuild" series! that's the trend on internet now! you've done really good on this golf!

On 10:29 you mention you can’t use your hamd like factory. Next time get the small roler 5cm and after applying that protective texture go very very slow with roller and you will get those results.And line I think you know that use the yellow tape. You done a very good job on that golf. Greetings from Croatia.

Hi, I think was 0.9 welding wire, the exact setting not sure now but test on a metal with the same thickness before you start welding

where did you get that rocker panel piece? i can only find the whole piece for the front and back
As you can see in the thumbnail I bought as well a hole piece front to back and I've cut it to length.

What kind of welder do you use in video? Flux core or gas shielded?
Flux core. Something really cheap but works just fine If is set right.

Yes. It is part of the under structure. I didn't cut in there. The rocker panel is just the exterior part.(shell)

how long did the whole project take start to finish? I'm about to start this lol
After I had all the parts I've cut the bad part welded the new one, use some epoxy and waited till next day to dry out. After that bondo and paint all in the 2nd day. But if you want to do it all at once you will need at least 6 hours and nice weather to dry the bondo and the paint.
What was the blue stuff you used called
Automotive Pannel bond. You can Google it and you will find from different companies
