Can you please include where to order fabrics. I’ve resumed sewing after I retired from nursing and am interested in sewing clothes for my grandkids. I’m sure I can get great ideas from you. Thank you!
Hi Mary! I am not affiliated with any of these online stores, but I purchased from them for about 10 years and I consider them very reliable and cheap for me. 1. FabricWholesaleDirect.com - My absolute favorite for a very wide variety, prices, good shipping and great customer service - 100% my favorite place and never had issues with shipping or missing yardage. 2. Fabric.com Lately I noticed it takes longer for shipping and also slightly higher prices in the past year. 3. TulleShop.com - everything tulle, or cheap organza you find here!!!
Lots of good tips. Thank you for showing us your setup. I look forward to seeing more of your videos. I’m new to sewing clothes for children and myself. I would like to start with more simple dresses and look forward to seeing more of your designs. When I bought my dress form, it didn’t have a base so I used one of my husband’s old microphone bases. He gets credit for that idea😂
You are so welcome! Thank you for stopping by!I am all for improvising if it helps me achieve my goal 👍. Making clothes for kids is so much fun, I made lots of flower girl dress and birthday/pageant big organza/ tulle ball gowns - Lots of work....Good luck with everything!
6:39 I have a cat, Miss Stripes, she is a tortoiseshell and white cat, too. She just LOVES sleep on and in my fabric. Even when I need some to cut a pattern, she is right there getting in the way laying all over the fabric!
Haha, I feel you! Cats have a way of making sure we never get anything done, huh? Miss Stripes sounds like a real character! I love pets, i would have 5-6 if i could 😁
@@silviasvault Today I am having to cut out some BIG panels for sewing. Normally, I do all that right here in my kitchen. Centrally located, I have my Butterfly JA2-1 sewing machine here, reels of cotton (ACTUAL cotton not polyethylene) and, of course, my iron. But, these pattern pieces are HUGE!!! My cutting table here is just TOO SMALL!!! So...I went to my shop to see...no, that table was bigger, but still not be enough. So, let me check the office...and clear off the draughting able and, wallah! The draughting table is large enough for the pattern pieces to fit! There are SIX MORE CATS in there!!! My oldest cat, Miss Patches, I caught burying herself into my fabric...just like Miss Stripes does! And all the other cats are laying on the fabric. I'M SURROUNDED BY A BUNCH OF *HAMS*!!!!
This was on my feed, I watched, liked and subscribed! You have some great ideas and I look forward to see what else comes along. Suggestion for fabric- wrap onto foam core board, cut to size and stand like upright like a book shelf. I’m sure it would be harder for the bulkier fabrics, but it’s a thought. ❤️😀
Thank you very much for being here 🤗!!!! That is such a great idea .. I am usually going very quick through my fabrics and always looking for ways to keep them clean and organized. Or buying too much is my problem 😄

Omg! My son loves these same characters 😂
They are so fun to make and he loves participating and giving guidance and fill them up 😁.....I get to spend time with him on his terms which is great
You have sewing expertise and have shown viewers that talent shines on a budget! Very encouraging!
In recent years I have learned a lot and also became more and more frugal, so I had to combine both and achieve my dream!
What a wonderful sewing room and your dresses are absolutely exquisite
Thank you so much! I love creating unique things that make me happy and save money.

You keep talking about "sophisticated fabrics". Is that an online shop? Physical shop? Please put a link to where to find this business.
