    Thank You both for such a heart warming adventure both to you and the children. One of which the children and the two of you will never forget. You brought tears to my 76 year old eyes as you interact with them. I know I will never experience what you have seen, touched, felt and experienced through the eyes of the youth. May God Bless your journeys through life. Looking forward to future journeys. I wish I could help out through the Patron portal but as I live on Social Security alone and have to take care of 2 families that is not possible. Again, God Bless the both of you.

    Little known fact: Bethel is the 1st. and last checkpoints on the annual Kuskokwim (CUSS-koh-quim) 300 dogsled race.
    It seems it's a good day to fly a kite in Bethel, if you don't mind it ending up in Siberia.😀
    That's the kind of wind the mushers can run into up in the Unalakleet [YOU-nuh-luh-cleat], on the Bering Sea) area during the Iditarod--wind chills of around -100F.
    Back in '84, during my 9244mi. solo drive to and from AK, I flew out of Anchorage on a 2-day tour to the "big cities" of the Alaskan Bush--Nome and Kotzebue, and even that was eye opening.

    • @ArtWeThereYet
      @ArtWeThereYet  6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes, can you imagine being on that race? Must be absolutely epic!

      @@ArtWeThereYet, but from what I hear, the sleep deprivation becomes so huge after 4 or 5 days that you can't hardly think straight. However, I've been on 2 dogsledding tours--1 up in Ely, MN near the Boundary Waters, and the other about 100 mi. north of the Canadian border in Ontario, and yes, it was epic. So, I'm not sure I'd want the exhaustion, but it's amazing to watch a recap later on.

    # WHERE Are The POLAR BEARS & GRIZZLY BEARS ???????

    • @ArtWeThereYet
      @ArtWeThereYet  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Luckily we didn't see any. I think it is too far north for grizzlies, and maybe a bit far south for polar bears to be very common. But I could be wrong! Haven't done the research on the extend of different bear habitats throughout Alaska

    This American way of building houses is really depressing. Villages would look much nicer with traditional homes.

      You definitely got a point there, but what's your definition of a traditional home?

      @@ArtWeThereYet That’s a good question, especially because one should ask what is a traditional house in America. But since until the arrival of the Europeans there were no houses in America, at least not in the way that we understand, then let’s say that a traditional house architecture is the one used in Europe between the XVIII and the XIX centuries. That kind of construction provided architectural beauty and tradition to the cities while on the countryside it blended the house with nature in an harmonic way and created villages where people live in contact with its neighbours. The use of stone and wood gives a special character to the village that makes its people inhabitants of a unique place, full of character and different to other villages.
      I’m from Spain and the villages in the north of the country, with an architecture similar to the one in the north of Europe, contrasts with the white villages from Andalucía, the stony villas from the Mediterranean or the black stone houses from the mountain regions. Each region has its own architecture that make each village unique and beautiful. Something that a great country like the USA seems to have given up.
