So when should you take them to the calming corner after that they act out or you can tell that they're starting to get very overwhelmed with there feelings. He's 2 and he's starting not to nap so much but his emotions get very overwhelmed where he needs a nap but he takes a nap for an hour so he can sleep at night

I have utilized a calming corner in my classroom for years, but my kiddos are ready for their own calming corner at home. I have been so picky and havent actually created one yet. Thank you for your ideas, maybe I can actually make a decision and set it up.

Love all your videos Kaleigh, thank you for the very useful information!
How do we encourage children to use that space for calming down, or does that come by practice ? Just wondering if there's anything that they can think of when they are having a lot of big feelings.

This is soooooo good! I was very good at the social emotional stuff with my oldest kids and have lost touch with it in the hustle and bustle... My youngest three are 3 and under. I am just beginning to realize what they have been missing out on. I will be praying for healing around that Mamma guilt later... Thank you so much for sharing this with the world. We need it. Whether it's a first time hearing it or a fantastic refresher, you have nailed it! ❤️🙏🏼🥰😘
I have a question... What if a toddler wants to be in the calming corner alone for a bit and doesn't want their doting younger sibling in their space for the moment... But the calming corner is accessible to everyone 😬

How early would you say to introduce a calming corner? I have a 9 month old and don't know when I should set ours up. Thank you!
P.s. love that dog stuffy 💙

Honestly having noise cancelling or minimising headphones could be a game changer as a parent to a baby or toddler. We allllll know that crying or screaming babies and children is one of the most distressing sounds to a person, and one you cant really turn off or turn down. But you can control how much of that you have to hear yourself.
I dont currently have kids but i know my own sensitivities, and I'll definitely be using headphones or earplugs when i have young kids and babies. I want to be able to be the best parent i can, and i cant do that if i get overwhelmed and feel like im gonna lose it every time the kids cry for more than four seconds. Obviously use with caution and make sure you can still hear well enough to know if something is going on, but blocked enough that you can cope better

Where is their bed from? Is it full size or twin sizes? I’ve got a 27mo and a 15mo sharing a full size floor bed but I’d love something like your setup, especially because we’ve got another joining us late November so I’ll be in the 3 under 3 boat 😅

Do you have a video by chance of an example of using the calming corner in action? I feel like I need an example of exactly how to use it during a meltdown.

Would having a ball pit being a calming space be a good idea?

Can you share what that couch is in the calming corner? And where we can get that classical musical object you shower in this video? Thanks!!’

would it be confusing for the toddler if I would put the calming corner adding in with the book nook area? or do it need to be separated?

What do you do if multiple children want/need to use the corner... I don't have any extra space and trying to find a place is going to be a struggle as is.
