Noel loves to say he wrote it the same day they recorded it but everyone knows he had that song in his back pocket for years. He had been writing songs forever.
@@infernosdante4557 I want to believe you But how good this song is, the lyrics clearly state that this song was written under 30 minutes under the influence of alcohol or more
if this version or the album version were to come out today, it would crush anything else on the top 40. Missing the days when oasis we kicking blur's ass and taking names.
Huge difference between imitation and referencing. What really grates my nerves is that people keep calling Oasis Beatles imitators because the Sun newspaper said it years ago but if they actually knew how there songs were constructed (which i do) they would realise they are absolutely nothing like the Beatles.
@WaterMelonsXD Not actually, they recorded a demo tape the day Noel wrote it. Because there is a tv appeareance where there are a lot of changes. This is most likely the demo tape they recorded, and the studio version be, well, another one. Noel himself said it, only Slide Away and another song he couldn't recall made it from the original Definitely Maybe sessions.
I understand. what I meant was: Blur has used at least 10 styles of music for their songs: shoegazing, britpop, punk rock, lo-fi indie, gospel, electronica, country (no lie!), possible beginnings of dubstep, disco, grunge. I know there's more. as for Oasis, their variety isn't that small, but theyre not as outgoing and experimental.
I'm pretty sure this version is the one they played at a Virgin megastore in a marquee for or after the release of definately maybe. And I think they were nearly fighting with some moron in the crowd!
on the definitely maybe dvd, they say that noel wrote the song in the studio and they did the entire song (as it is on the album) that night, were they all lying?
It was written in the store room at British Gas before Noel was even in the band - he’s a champion bullshitter and will tell you he wrote the song in 30 mins on the train…truth is it took a long time playing with chord patterns and writing phrases that could be strung together - he didn’t write the sone as much as he wrote bits and pieces and put them together later
This isnt a demo this was performed to Alan McGee at Maida Vale Studios because Oasis didnt really have many songs to show him and he was blown away by this , this was actually recorded after Oasis recorded Supersonic in the studio. x
apparently there's a really psychedelic recording with backwards guitar solos and stuff? According to that girl on the definitely maybe documentary anyway?
I need to be myself I can't be no one else I'm feeling supersonic, give me gin and tonic You can have it all, but how much do you want it? You make me laugh Give me your autograph Can I ride with you in your BMW? look. just because I said Blur was better than Oasis doesn't mean I hate Oasis. they're both great bands, but Blur's variety of styles gives them the upper hand
what did I do wrong this time? did I say something bad about Oasis? oh. sorry. but really, Blur does get a lot of respect, just not as much as Oasis, a band that hasn't made a good album since 2002. and, before you comment, Think Tank was all right (2003).
@adamm919 There's band like that around now who have songs like this. No-one gives them a chance though, It's either "YOU THINK YOU'RE OASIS" or that no-ones into it because of the manufactured pop shit that's getting shoved down everyones throat.
honestly, Oasis has better individual songs, but Blur has better albums as a whole. as for the non-album tracks (b-sides, fan club singles, Whatever, Popscene, etc) they're evenly matched I would put DOYS higher on my list, but the fact that it doesn't get exciting until track four makes it not as good. but otherwise fine
thats your opinion I personally think that Oasis is as good as Blur, but Blur's variety and originality gives them the win and Dig Out Your Soul isnt a bad album. just sometimes boring. SOMETIMES.
Don't get me wrong. I like Oasis just fine, but I don't really see why it's always gotta be a comparison to Blur. They're different, and Blur evolves and changes, whereas Oasis grates on my nerves with all this Beatles imitation/referencing shit. Oasis is good in and of themselves, not building off something else's renown and sound constantly; they don't need it. =/
Mate Blur never made one good album, all one or two tunes and the rest of the album just full of shit filler songs. Albarns best work is easily his gorillaz stuff anyway. And on the Oasis front, I personally thought Dig Out Your Soul was their best album since Be Here Now.
Supersonic was recorded on the same day as it was written, so there is no demo, This is just an acoustic version
That's just what I was thinking about when I saw this on my recommended videos
Noel loves to say he wrote it the same day they recorded it but everyone knows he had that song in his back pocket for years. He had been writing songs forever.
@@infernosdante4557 idk about that man he might have had some it written
This is taken from a radio session not a demo

Liam's voice is so different its great.
Favourite Oasis song.
Supersonic acoustic live at Maida Vale studios in London on 22nd December 1993
such an angelic version!
I love this quarter-step tuning Noel does here, it's the same in Some Might Say
It’s actually just e flat tuning the whole guitar tuned down a half step
I loved that voicee!
This is from American Radio in 1994
BBC maida vale

the album version was the first recording/demo of this song! not on demo tapes!
@StevenHillcoat No, i think this was Maria Vale in London
This ain't a demo, supersonic dosent have one.
***** You got a link? I can't find it anywhere, even on the DM multidisc albums they have other demos but only live versions for Supersonic
***** Fair enough it's a misunderstanding then, I thought you meant Supersonic has a studio recorded demo
Rok Fish it does, maida vale studios mate
This version is for Real oasis fans
There wasn't a demo for supersonic
Ryan Burtenshaw it does, from maida vale studios

yeah!
Though it isn't a demo, it's still great
Guys, I really need a tab for this.
Does anybody has one?
This is from virgin record store gig. Not a demo. As previously mentioned, there was no demo
this is a radio version
I'm pretty sure this version is the one they played at a Virgin megastore in a marquee for or after the release of definately maybe. And I think they were nearly fighting with some moron in the crowd!
biiiim
I know, I was fully aware that Noel ripped off the guitar part and turned it into the lead guitar part but this is staggering.
fantastic song
give me your autograph ;)

Lewis Inglis that's shakermaker
liam is the best
really? i thought heathen chemistry was just alright but the others are some of my all time favourite records.........
Oasis have variety, compare The Masterplan with Acquiesce, same album completely different sounds.
FUCKING AWESOME MATE
You think?! Dont believe the truth is a brilliant album - great in fact! Dig out your soul was merely very good - a very 'cool' album.
agreed
Not demo,It's from Live on Radio 1994
I think there was you know.

noel wrote supersonic in a bathroom

inspiral carpets
Eduardo Bracamonte you what?
