    "Walk with me in Hell" is what I recommend next. I liked LoG before I heard that song, but I became a proper fan after that song. It always brings back memories of cramming my truck full of friends back in those days and driving a bit too fast to Slipknot, Mudvayne, Static X, Lamb of God, Tool and more.

    • @remedy9648
      @remedy9648 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I love your memory and rarely see or hear anyone list Static X, I’m still hooked on the entire Wisconsin Death Trip CD and still blasting it pretty much every time I’m driving, it sucks Wayne is gone but they’re still putting out decent music. Peace💜

    • @The_Fat_Turtle
      @The_Fat_Turtle 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Static X was a big band for me and my group of friends. It was pretty common to have "I Am", "Sweat of the Bud" "Push It" or "Stem" blasting in my truck. I also still have those songs in circulation.

    LoG is a very versatile band of many talents....kinda like how Pantera was, always changing with unexpected rhythms and drive. Randy has that style of vocals that screams metal of all kinds... kinda like Phil. To me LoG is like Pantera on steroids 😂. Need to do more of them and it don't matter what you pick its all 🔥🤘😎🤘

    So this song is about the singer himself. He was a raging alcoholic and one of their guitarists wrote this song about him and made him sing it. Kind of a humility type situation where they can laugh at it now but they all kicked Randy (the singers) ass because of how belligerent he would become when drinking. There is video of them on youtube beating his ass on tour lmao

      Thanks for saving me the trouble of jotting this all down myself. Mark Morton, their lead guitarist, wrote this song when he was pissed off at Randy. Randy confirmed it was about him during a 'Wikipedia fact or fiction' interview with Loudwire a few years back. Very funny how it's now one of their most prominent songs in liveshows. They (almost) always play it.

    Mark the lead guitar player wrote this about the singer Randy when he was slipping on tour. “Laughing stock of your own stage” line makes it pretty clear. The band are very serious when it comes to their music, and they want to give the best performance to fans who give their money to see them. He is referring to an invitation to settle this and “try me.” The song goes so hard Randy went with it I guess, and there’s a lot of truth in it.

    On the surface, it's about people who are pricks in the music industry and the need to pop their ego. Randy Blythe defined the whole basis of the album _Sacrament_ on the band's disgust for various subjects. On a deeper level, though, some of the lyrics are calling out Blythe for being "the one true redneck" of the group, as well as a raging alcoholic around that time and the damage that he did when he drank something like twenty to thirty beers a day.

    • @ExUSSailor
      @ExUSSailor 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Mark has admitted that he wrote this one specifically about Randy.

    • @manna6618
      @manna6618 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Randy totally WAS a massive dick around this point of their career, speaking from experience. He would get completely destroyed then start trying to fight whoever was in yelling range, women or kids it didn't matter coz he was so drunk...and when he was straight he would only talk to 'famous' people or other musicians, common people were below him. Apparently changed man nowadays, lets hope for his sake. :/

      @coreyag1 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I saw them a few years back at Rockville in Jacksonville. Redneck was their last song then too. They produced probably the biggest circle pit I'd ever seen. The circle was so big it went from side to side and front stage all the way back. I literally lost my friend for the rest of the day after that pit. I'll never forget that day. That was also when Chris Adler played with Megadeth for a few shows after they wrote Dystopia together. Look up the 2017 L.O.G. Circle pit at Rockville. It's massive.

    The Sacrament album is LoG's most accessible. Their producer Machine really challenged them to step outside of their comfort zone musically and vocally. Watch the Killadelphia DVD where Randy gets laid out by Mark in Scotland. Randy was a nasty drunk and he gets called out for it throughout the video. Redneck was the first song by them I heard but it didn't immediately appeal to me. It wasn't until hearing Now You've Got Something To Die For on a friend's Myspace page(yeah that really dates it) that I started to really appreciate them. Randy is a phenomenal lyricist and a versatile vocalist. Sacrament is where he really started to branch out trying new things. You should check out Contractor off of Wrath to hear some of the best screams pulled off in metal..the guy is an animal behind the mic.
