My 2024 Ford F600 hooklift was $145k. $300k for a new dump truck is not as outrageous as most people think. Everything is expensive.
I wouldn’t air the bags/bellows down when loading to make the truck shorter. Let those machines reach and even beat that board up if you have to. You don’t want to stress your bags trying to air up and pick the load up. They are also made to compensate for the weight difference around the body.

@300k there young feller, you had better have alot of work and hope for zero break downs, i've seen many owner operators go down fast, little things like, payments need to be paid even if not working, blown engines, rearends, fuel, cleaning, permits, oh ya insurance, would have bought a 75-100k, for good top end used, worked from there, but hey what do i know, oh ya did i mention i was a highway supervisor for 30 years now

We have maybe 1 and thats it. But our tippers/dumpers nearly always have trailers too
You don't have 50 different countries to deal with like the US does.
Oooohhh luxury comes in a little heavy. Maybe cut some fancy out and get 21.5 or since we’re “luxury” put an aluminum bed on there and get 23 and you won’t have to haul any big rock

I guess transfers are a thing of the past and big boxes with pusher axles took their place, I've only heard of one fatality where someone walked between a transfer thinking it was a ten wheeler.

How long will it take to pay for the Truck ?
Nice truck, ref the 3 smaller wheels, are they on lift axles? Do you use them to reduce your axle weight? At what weight would have to use all 3?

I've done asphalt before. Never again. I hated it. Sand, gravel, dirt, asphalt CHUNKS I gladly did but I never wanna deal with asphalt if I ever stop driving Semi's and go back to Class B Dumpers (or dump trailer semi work).

Can you please explain why would you need the extra axles Is there roads or laws which requires you to have extra axles ??
Great question. Yes each state has its own bridge laws which effect your total legal gross vehicle weight. In Minnesota 6axles gets you the most gvw and still being able to get into city streets and all. there are also 7axle but they are rare for now

GVW is registered at 69,000. each states has its own regulations and bridge laws

What's the weight rating difference between a quad axle and a quintaxle?
quad is around 17tons, quint 19.5 tons
The words “Luxury” and “dump truck” do not belong in the same sentence. I’ve driven Petes, KW, Volvo and Freightshaker dumps. Some were equipped better than others, but at the end of the day when I got out of them, my a$$ was beat.

Honestly blows my mind you guys spend 300k on these trucks. I'd rather buy a Pre emission, cut and double framed stretch, quad axles with a bed for under 100k. That's assuming your buying new beds and and steering axles. Id rather do that and bank 200k more and buy a house. We tend to run a lot of short end dumps in my area, which you can still get a nice setup for 80k and do asphalt if you want to. Everyone's different when they look at money.
19 1/2 ton on a quad axle . Lol I haul 23 on a 5 axle . Lol
How much revenue did the truck generate that first day with the sand and the rock? I haul Milk in Tillamook Oregon and have a colleague that owns a dump truck, and he like to talk shop quite a bit, but he has done so many different types of jobs with it, its hard to understand exactly what He Generates.

I do what you do son the next time you work with that asphalt crew tell them to load the truck as there ripping out the old asphalt so your not handling the material twice rip and load you don’t touch material twice
sounds good, this was a weekend gig so they had the asphalt ripped out before i got there.

It looks nice to me only problem i have it's an automatic transmission i hate automatic transmission vehicles
I like the automatic because there much easier to drive for paving and plus you CANT find a driver right now that drives manual.
I never cared for them either but they've come a long way.

normally on average about 9hrs a day… we do have 11-12 hr days during the summer
