Top work....I grew up there. Christened in St Martin's Church. Mum worked in Beech's SHop on the corner of Larkhill and I was the first customer for the Seacrest Chippy when in first opened in the late 70's.

This certainly brought back some memories! I worked for Ernie Andrews at The Cross Keys Restaurant around 1967. He was a very hard task master indeed but have to say the food he served was beautiful. I was a waitress there ( the only one if I recall correctly) and one of my jobs was to clean the leaded windows at the front of the restaurant. It was an awful job and took for ever and a day. I wonder if Ernie and Jon Andrews son Paul will see this, if so I had the enamel copper earrings he bought me when he was about 13, for years and years despite them making my ears turn green! Happy days indeed! The little shop next door was owned by an elderly lady and her son owned the newspaper shop on Wylds Lane.

Thanks Ben The London Road is is where I was born, the shops were where I walked past on my way to town as a child. The Fort Royal pub was where my Grandad used to take us to the off sales for a bar of chocolate. Mum and dad socialised there and we all left the carpark on a float for Worcester Carnival in the 1970's..later in life I lived at the Mount Pleasant in the late 80's..Great times!! Would love to see pictures of opposite Fort Royal pub, I remember there was a shop called Pooley's.

Think there was a small shop on corner of Green Hill, London Road. Picture on Changing Face of Worcester web site.
