Well I've lived in and around Worcester all my 67 years and never once did I hear about the boats being buried to help form the towpath - great video , thank you
@@itzajdmting Sorry for not replying, youtube is being 'amazing' with notifications, as usual 😁 ...I lived there from 2007 to 2016. But I still go back there every year in a summer to see friends. People are really nice there.
I have only found out this year that i'm a decendent of William Hamilton 2nd Duke of Hamilton and i was born in Worcester just over a mile from where he died.
I was born in Stourbridge in 1942, when it was still in Worcestershire, I have lived in the USA for over 50 years. I spent my career working for Silicon Valley companies and have seen almost the entire length of the computer, Internat Revolution. However my wife, also from Stourbridge, and I are still VERY CLOSE to our families and visit often. Although I am a devout ATHEIST I LOVE THE CATHEDRAL and make a “Pilgrimage” to it every time I come HOME. What a beautiful sight it is on the banks of the Severn, long may it remain there.
@@timenow5312 My wife is from Stourbridge also. She went to Halesowen Grammar School. Sadly our Black Country accents have faded. However one of my wife’s nephews, who has a beautiful BBC accent as he was educated in Weybridge, can also do a great job on Black Country dialect. Several years ago we were at the Black Country Museum where I came across a book called The Old Testament in Black Country. I bought it and one evening Matthew read from the book in his BROADEST OF BLACK COUNTRY dialect, we have never laughed so hard in our lives. We were helpless with laughter as Matthew droned on about the BARBOWLERS buzzing around the house on summer evenings. Then described the rain preceding the Great Flood as “IT DAY ARF CHUCK IT DOWN”. We frequently had to stop and TRANSLATE for my daughter who was born in Chicago. Do you remember the words “It’s black over Bills mothers” when a thunderstorm turned the sky black, my mother used to say that but she was a foreigner from BRUMMIJHAM, my Dad was born in DudLAY, how did that happen? Best wishes to you and all those wonderful memories.
Kerswell Green near Kempsey my family’s ancestral home. The none of the Australian family have set foot since my great great grandfather’s last visit in 1888
Great video. I was a cathedral chorister there and a boarder at the King's School in the 70s. Brings back wonderful memories.

When did you live there, if you don't mind? I'm thinking of moving there myself from Tamworth. It's a tough decision, but I do like worcester.

@@pankinyek No worries, thanks for the response. It's all set now I will definitely be moving there. Never thought I would be this apprehensive.

I keep waiting to see one of these videos about Worcester when they spot the two snails carved on the foliage on the Guildhall facade.

The town Center how how long like to remember it
Worcester Cathedral wasn't badly damaged by Henry viii's men - thought to be because his brother's Chantry is here.
Go, Morty, go!! XXXX ❤😂💗👍🤗🎶
How old is this video
MCMLXXXIII translates to 1983
1982
The Roman numerals at the end show 1983
Another city lost, RIP my fair England 😢
Lost? Omg, it was there the other day, I swear.....
The 144 bus doesn't travel all the way to Brum any more, but it definitely says "Worcester"
They don't make them like that any more. Thank God.
Now it would be full of ridiculous music and an annoying, over the top presenter.
Clever though, the way they found the most wooden and lifeless presenter, and then some talking heads who were even more wooden and lifeless.
