  • Wing Chun / Ving Tsun hand combat was originally reverse engineered from double knife fighting.
Being in receipt of the full system is to embody the knife skill.
This is more than just form practice.
It is the capacity to operate the blades as an extension of the body imbued with power from the ground.

"Wing Chun / Ving Tsun hand combat was originally reverse engineered from double knife fighting." I'd be interested in a source for this claim. I understand that the hand when using the knives has the same function as the elbow in the empty hand system and so there are simmilarities. But to claim the whole empty hand system came from there, I'm not sure.
I am under the impression that a lot of Kung-Fu came from weapons systems as the transition from Ming to Qing dynasty had a huge impact on martial arts. However it is hard to ignore the simmilarities between Wing-Chun and White Crane for example or other hakkanese systems.
