In the end, this benefited both Sheamus and Bryan It gave Sheamus a big wrestlemania moment and began his best world title reign And this apparently got hardcore fans to increase their support for Daniel Bryan, leading to a major storyline and push for him a year after this
@@Kratosx23 He was never a main-eventer. Actually why do you think a match that made him look so strong at the biggest show of the year ruined his career?
@@Kratosx23lol what show did Sheamus main event during that time? Daniel Bryan ended up going to Raw and Sheamus stayed on Smackdown. 2011-2012 did not have Sheamus main eventing anywhere. Daniel actually didn’t even main event that year. He got stuck in a feud with CM Punk and Kane over AJ Lee and none of them main evented either which is why CM Punk turned heel that year 🤣🤣🤣
@@najacipedo6898 He was a 4 time world champion and Royal Rumble winner. He beat Cena, Orton, Triple H. What do you call that if not a main eventer? It ruined his career because all the attention shifted to what a stupid booking decision it was to bury Bryan like that, and Bryan took off like a rocket, Vince probably blamed Sheamus because he didn't want Bryan getting over and he's weird, and he was never a main eventer again. Even after he won the world title in 2015, he just wasn't the same. He never got back there.
I mean his 2015 matches were not great at all. But ever since his run with Claudio as The Bar, which is legitimately one of my favorite tags teams ever, he has really been on a roll, barring that weird feud with Jeff Hardy where piss got thrown
Lol now that you mentioned it and i have the time, i probably will watch it. Remember that being a classic also, overall the Extreme Rules 2012 PPV was freaking good.
He could have a bad match with Will Ospreay. Everyone else does, even people better than Sheamus like Danielson, Gunther and MJF. It's not Sheamus's fault, but there's not a chance.
At the time, that result was real bad. But with hindsight being 20/20, that was a huge moment as far as the people getting behind Bryan, which would eventually lead to Mania 30 Two Years Later.
I was reading the first part of your comment, thinking to myself 'Yeah, that's the catalyst for the whole entire YES! movement, just to basically read my own thoughts
Bryan vs Sheamus was the match I was looking forward to the most and was bummed with the outcome. Could have been worse I suppose, pretty sure Cody took a spear straight to the balls by the Big Show that night. And they had that banger of a 2/3 falls match at Extreme Rules.
That match hurt Sheamus more anything. That was when Bryan was really starting to click with the audience and we were so ready to see him have a great Mania match. Then boom and it’s over. We were pissed! And at that time I saw it as Vince giving an FU to the audience and shoving Sheamus down our throat like he did with Cena. As a fan it made me hate Sheamus for a solid year straight and just made me like Bryan even more. Wasn’t until later on I realized that Sheamus also wanted to have a great match not a 18 second squash.
The real match id love to see with NO restrictions and at least a solid 18-25 minutes in the ring and have Hunter let them go all out........ KENNY OMEGA VS SHEAMUS That has 5 star classic written all over it and it'd definitely benefit Sheamus by showing all the new viewers and upcomers that he isnt just a 'wwe' guy that wrestles 'wwe safe matches'. But instead Sheamus with nothing held back is truly one of top 10 current ring wrestlers that always puts on bangers whether is TV, PLE shows or even live house shows too
God, this brings back memories. I remember HATING seeing that happen in real time because I knew the match could be awesome. It killed the night for me. Then that Monday night happened... I am glad we got the proper match at Extreme Rules. I love Bryan, but Sheamus really impressed me.
At the time Sheamus I think even told officials the 18 seconds match was gonna get despised by the fans Bro knew that idea would destroy is character dead
Met him. He's a super nice guy. Watched him in a house show... crazy the stuff this guy did in that show for my family's entertainment on a $50 front row seat! Dude was hit with a kndo stick about 100 times.. bleeding like crazy!
Sheamus is the first wrestler I ever met in person after WARGAMES in Vancouver outside JW Marriott Parq !! I’ve been a fan of his since his wwe debut in 09’ and it was awesome to meet & get a picture taken with him!!
just dogshit booking it makes sense when someone is injured ala Bruno/Buddy Rogers, but when the entrances last longer than the a world title match, you know the promoter is wasting everyone's time
but it made for such a shocking moment I argue it was justified. Plus they had a super competitive two out of three falls match a month later that got bryan his credibility back.

This didn't help Sheamus at all, lmao. It ruined his career. He was a main eventer and he was never the same after this.

I’ve kind of realized that Sheamus rarely has a bad match… he’s a pretty solid worker. Glad he’s here :)
Banger after banger after banger
I remember when he first started people were giving him shit for being HHHs boy. Good for him for proving the doubters wrong.
I mean his 2015 matches were not great at all. But ever since his run with Claudio as The Bar, which is legitimately one of my favorite tags teams ever, he has really been on a roll, barring that weird feud with Jeff Hardy where piss got thrown
It’s no surprise him and Gunther notched a 5-Star match
He's in the same boat as Orton. It's never going to be a bad match, but it will most likely be a boring match with no heat behind it.
I still remember that 2/3 falls match they had after Mania 28. HELL of a match.
Lol now that you mentioned it and i have the time, i probably will watch it. Remember that being a classic also, overall the Extreme Rules 2012 PPV was freaking good.
That match was way better than 18 seconds
Sheamus legit couldn't have a bad match with anyone even if he tried.
his matches with cena were rough

Even this clip is longer than the match 😂😭
Brock and Kofi was longer
Vince wanting Punk vs Jericho match to be short is a disgrace. I am so glad he is gone
Because WWE is so good now...

My man didn't even answer the question 😂
Uh, yeah he did? "No they didn't give us a time". "The idea was, distraction, finish.".

Hi glad to be here
At the time Sheamus I think even told officials the 18 seconds match was gonna get despised by the fans
Bro knew that idea would destroy is character dead

This match made the Raw after Mania a thing. Just watch it again and how the crowd hijacked Cena and Rock out of all people with Yes chants.
Daniel Bryan never has a bad match !
How can you not like sheamus
If they had given the WWE title match 18 seconds only I’m almost certain Punk would have thrown Vince through a wall.
Sheamus has that idgaf aura about him.
Sheamus is the first wrestler I ever met in person after WARGAMES in Vancouver outside JW Marriott Parq !! I’ve been a fan of his since his wwe debut in 09’ and it was awesome to meet & get a picture taken with him!!
Daniel vs Mysterio. geat match
I was disappointed their only WM match ended like that
I ain’t gone lie I was like 10 years old and WM 28 was my first ppv I ever watched so when I saw this I got excited lol
@JJeffer2020 WM 28 was pretty solid ngl bro. This is the only thing that fumbled imo
I forgot about that match
just dogshit booking
