Hi Sarah and Andrew. I loved your garden walk so peaceful and tranquil with some stunning views also. I think it is worth paying the price for admission to get away from all the crowds for awhile.

This was a lovely walk and YES certainly worth £5. It need some ‘magic’ to restore the house and grounds back to it’s original ‘glory’. It certainly has all the ingredients to make this into the beautiful Estate it once was. A lovely ‘Bonus’ Andrew and Sarah, really enjoyed the walk and visit to Port Elliot.

This stroll around these beautiful, tranquil grounds was a real treat to watch. First time I've ever seen a ha-ha! Thank you!

Love the Laurel and Hardy style music in the maze section and the sounds of a ghostly train in the viaduct! Beautiful grounds. Trying to imagine it when it is all in bloom there. Restaurant and food looked fab. Best of all you walked around with absolutely no one in sight...my kind of walk! x J x

If you were to sit on the right hand side of the carriage as you take the train from Plymouth to Cornwall you can see the pampas clumps as you cross the viaduct approaching St. Germans.
Great video as always, keep them coming, kind regards, John.

What a fantastic place to go for the day. So quiet. Ideal for an enjoyable, socially distanced walk.
    Thanks for the video

Thank you so much for this recommendation - I visited with my family yesterday and we absolutely loved it! Such a magical, tucked away place.

It is so secluded and divinely unmanicured, if that’s a word! We loved the view of the viaduct! Sarah :)

Wonderful footage and commentary, I heard of the ha!ha! ditches when holidaying in ‘Bath’ and aren’t those slit windows to prevent you enemies from gaining access but just wide enough to fire arrows out of! these grounds are stunning and will look amazing when in full bloom, I enjoyed the fourth episode of Beyond Paradise, thank you 🙏 both again for such an interesting look around this private estate even though it is deserted 🤗

Beautiful location. I loved how you poked around and found every interesting spot. Peace and quiet, with that feeling of ancient buildings is a rare thing. I wonder if the ground level outside the old boathouse has become higher over the years, as soil washed down toward the river. But yes, people were definitely shorter back in the day. I'm rather tall, so when I see tours of charming English cottages, I cringe at the low ceilings. I can just imagine the flowers there over the coming weeks. :)

I've only ever been through St Germans on the train, but I'm always struck by how pretty it looks from the station 😊.
Edit: I will look out for the pampas next time we head over the viaduct!

Fab video Sarah and Andrew. Love a house architecture/grounds tour...made my Sunday! I've not heard of Port Eliot before...what a hidden gem and a beautifully serene setting. Maybe a steady income from more use as a film set will go towards parts being gradually restored ~ seems a shame that such a glorious building appears mainly unoccupied! I think the £5.00 entry fee for the gardens is a good deal but have just checked online, and it looks like a tour of the house itself is £25 per person...yikes!

Thanks for this video , which is very timely as I will be on holiday at St Germans in June 2023. I was also there in 2021 but did not visit the Port Eliot estate. Should be a bit warmer in June !

If the £5 is going towards the upkeep of the grounds then yes it is well worth it, compared to some NT and English Heritage sites.

Wouldn't it be fabulous if it had a Heligan type makeover?
