Astralis play around their strategy and overall approach which automatically puts a ceiling to the rating that Device or anyone in that team can achieve. We definitely need a better system to choose the best player imo because current way overlooks the context of team structure completely which is a big part of individual ratings.

Before Blastralis I ranked all 5 players in Astralis above every other player not named s1mple, zywoo, elige or electronic. Their perfection as a team dampened the fact that they most of the times just melted tier 1 teams on an individual level. I still think Astralis is slightly more skilled than Vitality, simply because dupreeh is consistently underrated, but it's very close regardless.
I think Vitality have more mechanical skill but I think that the Astralis players are individually more complete and make less mistakes overall. I also think just from watching the two teams that Astralis have better teamplay and they make it easier for their teammates to succeed in each situation.

No team comes close to peak Astralis. There is a lot of individual skill on Vitality but team work makes the dream work. They also rely too heavily on ZywOo, so if he doesn't show up they are in trouble. Particularly against Astralis, they so often lost the round until ZywOo gets a 3k or a 4k
@Luka T. Electronic #4 in 18 and #6 in 19 though.. I think he does more than "showing up here and there". But yeah, that's still only 2 players out of 5 lol
@Luka T. I would agree apart from when Vitality are getting rekt. In that Dust 2 game vs Astralis in the IEM global challenge Vitality were getting shit on by Astralis and the ONLY rounds they got was because of Zywoo doing something ridiculous like running up long without any flashes or something and getting 3 kills. So when they are winning it is not just Zywoo but when they are getting destroyed the only reason some of the rounds are even near is because of Zywoo.
I think its close in terms of skill between Astralis and Vitality especially with vitality's youngers players now. But in my opinion ut really still does not matter that much because Astralis have proved time and time again that they can go against much higher individually skilled rosters and use strategy and teamwork to destroy them.

The difference between him and S1mple and Zywoo is very interesting. Not as flashy but he hits every shot anyways. Something to be said about being the true engine to the Astralis machine.
Lmao, this Astralis vs Vitality debate is so funny to me right now. No one could have ever guessed that Vitality would end up being Zywoo, Magisk, dupgreeh, misutaa, apEX with zonic coaching.
I always think of the notion of "the best player" in terms of individual performance(apart from the contribution he does to teamplay). That's why it is "the best player" and not "the best team player". In football, for example, the Golden Ball(Ballon d'Or) lately often comes down to a decider between Messi and Ronaldo, and since their performance is so on par, the criterion then extends to how many titles they won in the particular season(apart from matches player, goals scored and assists made, and overall impact and crucial plays to win important matches). In this sense, device is not on par with Zywoo and s1mple. And I believe this to be the proper sense, because "the best player" award is individual and should not factor in team merits and achievements, unless contenders are so close in performance, that you need to expand the criterion(as in the case of Messi and Ronaldo, for example).
The award should be for the person who would be picked first if you could pick any players to make a team. That's the most valuable player. It doesn't matter if his subjective HLTV Rating 2.0 is higher or lower than someone else.
I don't think that individually, the players on Vitality can match the players on Astralis. Dupreeh, Magisk and Xyp9x still overshadow RpK, APEX and Shox imo.
They should do top 10 players or something this year. 20 is too much for the variety we saw this year and I feel that 8th through the 20th spot can be in any order.
I think vitality have more skill overall in the lineup, but astralis have far superior teamplay, (they have played together longer) and a more experienced IGL. Idk which is better and i don’t prefer either. Just like watching good cs and these teams click headsss
I think you can cut it down to a simple question: "which player would you rather have on YOUR team?" While s1mple and zywoo are slightly ahead in terms of pure raw skill, I'd rather have device any day of the week
I think vitality has more skill in their roster but glaive uses the skill of his team better and so they get more production out of less. If you play with glaive you will be way better as an individual than if you play with apex. He puts you in positions to succeed. I’d also like to hear why you think the top 3 players right now are awpers. I think there could be so many different justifications or opinions. I feel like it can’t just be coincidence because there a very limited number of awpers compared to titles but I would love to hear what you think.
You're oversimplifying it. All 3 of these guys are some of the best hybrids of all time and would be the best players on their teams even without the AWP. They all have a lot of games, especially T side halves where they just use rifles and dominate the enemy team. Shouldn't also forget that they are insane with pistols. Statistically they're actually the top 3 highest rated players on pistol rounds in 2020 as well. Simple answer - he only put AWPers in the top 3 because they are just the best 3 players in his opinion.
@@lolzoom1 nah they wouldn’t be the best with rifles at all. Electronic is way better with a rifle than simple is. Magisk or Dupreeh is way better with a rifle than device is. But for zywoo they don’t really have another star so he’s probably the best with a rifle. They would not be even close to the best players with a rifle.
I personally think that Astralis has better players. Magisk in shape is one of the world's scariest players, dupreeh is in my opinion a top 3 entry fragger, gla1ve is mby one off the most underrated players when it comes to aim and syp is better then RPK overall😁 Btw great vid
To the Vitality vs Astralis debate: I'd say "skill"-wise vitality has an edge. They have the better aimers. Apex is a better shot than Glaive, Zywoo is better than Device, Dupreeh is imo the best aimer in Astralis and beats everyone but Zywoo, Rpk and shox are in their current form way better than Magisk and Xyp. But Magisk has mechanics that can outclass even dupreeh if he is in form. Niveera and Misuuta are both great aimers but especially Niveera needs a working team around him and I feel he plays emotion-based. Generally its safe to say that Vitality has the better aimers but the Astralis players are more complete and thus on average better. just some thoughts
@@antonk.5087 I was referring to aim only. Glaive only frags in cheesy positions, Apex entries, and is often successful. I was generally referring to their current form. Atm Magisk is sadly underperforming, I really like him.
@@madsnn4222 over the last few months rpk had an insane impact. He basically never goes down without taking one or two opponents with him. In my opinion, he is overperforming atm but one has to aknowledge that he performs.
I think there shoud be rankings only like Top5 sniper players Top5 rifle players Its kinda not fair looking at stats of a guy who plays awp and comparing it to a rifle player, sniper will most of the times have better stats cus he is playing more safe can back more easily, it’s easier for sniper too win the duel and get multifrags! The fact is that s1 zywoo and device are also baiting and saving the most! If there is a rifle player and sniper with almost same stats i would take rifle over every time.
Funny how everyone brings up saving a bit more but no one talks about a star rifler running into the site and killing 10 players over the game who were on full eco. Imo affects players like elige, NiKo way more than saving affects AWPers
I'd agree that Device has better teammates. As of now , Astralis have proved that they're probably the most cohesive team in pro CS, if not the most individually skilled. So maybe Zywoo's teammates are better as individuals, but device has better teammates.
One question to Launders, have you think about creating a video about the cheating in csgo? Seems very popular this days as now gamers are not that computer aby as in the past and don’t understand how easy is to put hardware cheats on a periferic!
Lau: "Is Device the number 3 best player of 2020 on HLTV's 20 players of 2020 is he gonna be in the top 20 in the number 3 spot?" Me: "Sorry, come again? Say that one more time?"
Also I would definitely say Astralis have more individual skill. They have the best support player in the history of the game, the best IGL in the history of the game, device who obviously is the most accomplished player ever, and dupreeh and magisk who are both incredibly skilled and I personally think dupreeh is very underrated and is the 2nd best player on Astralis. Vitality have Zywoo yes but their other players are pretty inconsistent. If we're on LAN then I definitely would choose Astralis. Nivera and Misutaaa are good but I dont think they will perform the same when they go im front of those crowds. Astralis is both more skilled and disciplined.
I think the term skill is so bad - game sense, teamplay, communication are also skills, it is just not skills you easily can measure and assign numbers to. I would say the players on Astralis have shown that their skills is above everyone else.

Intro hitting hard
He was the best player this year, no doubt about it
in raw individual skill i think vitality is better, but team skill in general it is astralis
1, its great! feel like it should be before "whats popular youtube"
I personally think that Astralis has better players. Magisk in shape is one of the world's scariest players, dupreeh is in my opinion a top 3 entry fragger, gla1ve is mby one off the most underrated players when it comes to aim and syp is better then RPK overall😁
Btw great vid
EliGE demo plz against BIG on inferno
they do have a hltv thing for valorant. its called vlr.gg
it aint even close yet
Device 3rd? Whos 1st and 2nd?
I'm trash at cs but I'm a big fan of strats, how do I become a caster lol
yes
Stewie couldn't have been any faster with the "GG" lmao
The thing in the TL astralis series is that liquid would only play good for half the map, for the most part
08:10 the next leonardo da vinci
I comment to help statistics
Device is underrated.
Generally its safe to say that Vitality has the better aimers but the Astralis players are more complete and thus on average better.
just some thoughts
rpk sucks on 90% of the maps he plays, he is worse than everyone on astralis.
Saying that apex is the better aimer than glaive is also pretty daring.
apex is not better than glaive lul, rpk is also not that good. Magisk is also definetly better than all of them except zywoo
I think there shoud be rankings only like
Top5 sniper players
Top5 rifle players
Its kinda not fair looking at stats of a guy who plays awp and comparing it to a rifle player, sniper will most of the times have better stats cus he is playing more safe can back more easily, it’s easier for sniper too win the duel and get multifrags!
I want see ropz #4 or #5 this year. He have a lot of talent when he teamates perfrom to he can do same stats as s1mple or zywoo.
Wouldn't say he's at that level but he's definitely a monster.
Great content as always but that intro music is painful. >x
I feel that launders is not analyzing/reviewing but just talking over what has happened recently and then having the demo as b-roll
too many ct awpers on dust2 haha
the intro thooo

One question to Launders, have you think about creating a video about the cheating in csgo? Seems very popular this days as now gamers are not that computer aby as in the past and don’t understand how easy is to put hardware cheats on a periferic!
launders please please please use dark mode on hltv, my eyes are bleeding at this point D:
fixed for #5 :D
@@launders love you man
Simple is the best cuz Device has dupreeh magisk glave . Even x9p is the clutch king. What does simple have?
I think vita has more individual skill, Astralis just has that gigantic telepathic tier team brain that just wins them everything.
yes.
Lau: "Is Device the number 3 best player of 2020 on HLTV's 20 players of 2020 is he gonna be in the top 20 in the number 3 spot?"
Me: "Sorry, come again? Say that one more time?"
Pretty sure simple has thrown the same smoke dev throws are 19:52
I think BlameF is the number 4. The impact he has on col is insane and on a good day he could win out a 1v1 with s1mple or zywoo.
Yes.
next video is probably titled "is niko/ropz the 4th best player in the world?"
I would say he is the most trustworthy player in any team,u know he will perform always..
next video on kennyS? keep the awpers rolling
another day another deeemo
He’s the 2nd best f zywoo
Ayy he's got the intro, its nice imo
Why does Dev1ce not buy a kit when he can afford it. It dosen't matter if he has 400$ or 16000$ left, he still dosent buy the kit?
devve plays 4 by 3 1280 x 960
another hour another demo
"Is Launders running out of title ideas"
I think the term skill is so bad - game sense, teamplay, communication are also skills, it is just not skills you easily can measure and assign numbers to. I would say the players on Astralis have shown that their skills is above everyone else.
