I have a piece of his T-shirt! It had been torn while he surfed & as I held him before he turned to go back to the stage the piece of shirt hit me in the face & I grabbed it. Eddie was very aware of me being a woman surrounded by men & was very gentle with me & told the guys to take care of me & make sure I didn’t get hurt. They formed a circle around me for the whole show before he dived on us all anyway, but I really appreciated Eddies concern for me. When he got back on stage he was looking for me & they lifted me up & I blew him a kiss & he patted his heart, one of the greatest human beings ever. I was alone, but made lifetime friends there. I’m 55 now, thanks for reacting to such a wonderful memory.

Pinkpop is one of the longest running annual music festivals in the world with 50 years of history. This very moment where Eddie jumps from that camera rig was voted the greatest moment in all of those 50 years...It just doesn't get any more epic than this...

Eddie Vedder met with the camera man in 2018. Since 1992 he felt bad because Eddie thought the camera man was mad at him for jumping of the camera crane. In fact the camera man was yelling to his crew to jump on the other end for balast... funny story which Eddie told the crowd in 2018. I was there both times, unforgettable.

    th-cam.com/video/7qkg56kYv6I/w-d-xo.html
In that song he also made a reference to the LA race riots that followed the acquittal of the 4 policemen who beat up Rodney king that happened a couple of weeks before this concert:
"There's a 1000 points of light for the colored man
    There's a kinder gentler policeman's hand"

The camera man was totally cool, his seat has a very fine balance, he was pointing to the crew to add counter weight as Eddie climbed on, the counter weight had to jump off at the same time Eddie did. That was insane and they made it look easy. Classic Eddie, he has some epic climbs.

You should also look at Soundgarden, particularly songs like Behind The Wheel Live in Germany '93, or Birth Ritual, Superunknown, and basically any other song of theirs, they killed it back then. RIP Chris Cornell

Lmao I love your concern for Eddie. My band used to get kinda wild like this (much smaller scale lol)
One time we all just flopped on the floor the last note & someone’s grandma scolded us after our set saying we could’ve hurt ourselves lmfao. You reminded me of that show lol.

You gotta do Yellow Leadbetter. Their best. Also Mike had a side project called The Rockfords. The singer was Carrie Akre (pronounced ock-ree) and she also sang in a band called Hammerbox and one called Goodness. I liked The Rockfords' song Silver Lining. I'm an old grunge kid so I'm loving this trip down memory lane. :)

I think that one of the most under rated songs from Ten is Garden. It's my favorite on the album

Last show there Eddie tells a story about recently talking to the camera man- believe he was at the recent show. Grown up Eddie apologized, is on TH-cam

Oh and if you're really wanting to go back in the day, before Pearl Jam there was Mother Love Bone (when the lead singer Andrew Wood died of heroin overdose the band reconfigured w/ Eddie Vedder). Check out Chloe Dancer/ Crown of Thorns, Stardog Champion, or Stargazer. And if you're wanting to go way way back in Seattle listen to Heart and Jimi Hendrix.

I think Pearl Jam were pretty big NBA fans, especially the bass player, Jeff Ament, as they temporarily called the band "Mookie Blaylock" before settling on Pearl Jam. That is also why their first album was titled "10", MB's number.

Eddie did an interview right after this and he said that they're used to playing clubs and then... he pulled out some Polaroid shots of the crowd and showed them to the interviewer and just went "uhhh too many people... too many f***ing people for now... AWESOME!"

Sadly I was too young to go to these sorts of concerts, I was born in 96. However after attending ACDC when I was 13 I realized how much live concerts had changed because I've technology, ever since then all the concerts I have been to I've always went for the moshpits and avoided technology because I'd hate to see the lively spirit old concerts had fade away completely.
