- Just a few months ago this car was still a mess! im extremely happy with how its turning out, lots of effort but shows what you can do if you put the effort into something.

I have never seen an Astra G OPC in a such perfect condition, it's just like a brand new car, everything is new. Hats off! I have stock Zaffy A but still I find a lot of useful informations here.

Astra is looking mint Aaron. In my personal opinion i wouldn't do the window strips black. It looks good the way it is. Great video. 👍.
Nice car, love the red on this astra, these were good old astras my dad had one he bought it in 2010 and sold it in 2017, so he had it for 7 years, great cars made, simple and better looking then the new ones.

Personally, I don't like these cars, I don't like the shape at all, and thought they were lame, slow, and bad build quality, but I can appreciate your hard work, skills, and sheer creativity.

been watching these videos for a while.. back at the beginning of lockdown my arden blue zaf was written off outside my house in a hit and run.
i was pretty much ready to throw in the towel. until i watched a few more of your vids, Now I've sourced another (albeit in black) with a dead engine, Making a good one out of the two. If i can get the quality anywhere near yours i'll be happy haha.

That car is looking amazing Azz such a transformation from what was basically and empty shell. If the insert is vinyal i suppose it would be nice to see both but I think it will look better all in red.

Personally I'd black out the B pillar with gloss black vinyl. Gives it a cleaner line.

I also need to do the arches on mine cuz have also 20mm spacers laying around for the rear. But why do you recommmend to cut the arches, and not roll them?
Btw you should add some genuine shark eyes and headlight washers :-)
Fit a X20XER inlet cam... would also be a really nice upgrade (and oem). As with the stock cam you loose the power at about 5500rpm. With the XER cam it holds the power till the redline.

im not a friend of the black insert at the front bumper. but you should get the b pillar stickers. on the german website ebay-kleinanzeigen there is a set of original GM ones for sale atm. search for: "Opel Astra G CC OPC CARBON TÜRFOLIE NEU TURBO ORIGINAL"

Get the whole bumper red, then put some black vinyl in the area you were considering. If its not to your taste then just take it off.
Nice restoration! One question about the diverter valve you use...it’s the stock one with the membrane or you got installed the forge dv? Nice sound of little fluttering I heard at the opening of the video
I LOVE THE ASTRA!!!!! I have one, TS or G model here in Australia. The best one they made. Would love to upgrade my 1.8 LTR with a SRI Turbo like the 2.0 Ltr SRI Turbo model. Any advice would be great. Also where can I get one of those Splitters that stick out????

Personally i think a bit of black around the number plate area would look good, but you really have to see it on the car to be sure, or color in a mag photo,lol

Ppl laqure solid colours so they dont fade its good practice solid colour is old news even non matalics are painted base and clear not solid now even the few weeks of sun we get in uk fades solids and thes only so much material u can keep cutin bak and polishing it to get that shine bak #base&clearevrything . Solid colour is ✊💨

The old Astra is my favorite looking car...classical, strict, nice lines and mass, fits both a sporty and a more familial look. Can't stand the japanese looking, horrible angles etc on the Astras that followed...unfortunatey rusting in the arches is a plague in the mid-late 90s - early 20s Opel Astras and Vectras even more.
Do you ever rebuild Astra Coupes?
One mistake i see many people doing when fitting new springs and thats clamping a vicegrips to the shocks and causes the shock to rip the seal
This looks exactly like my astra.
For me in my humble opinion this car should of been a restoration back to oem/standard fresh, and kept the silver one as a modified one as slowly but surely this is becoming the silver Sri/turbo.
