Hi Chris. I know it is a pain but I take all my cylinders to bondi small engines in innisfil ontario. I have not been very successful in finding a competent shop that is reasonably priced in my area.
Question, I am rebuilding my 951 GTX DI and my crank passes the run-out measurement when still in the lower housing but when I took the crank out. The first PTO bearing is really rough sounding. All of the other bearings sound pretty good. It is time for a new crank or rebuilt crank? thanks.
Probably due to corrosion . The outer bearings are easily replaced with a good puller and the bearings are cheap. New crank can be anywhere from 800-1000.00
really good video thanks
Metal in the crankcase getting bounced around. I don't see any real checks here as far as mechanics goes. Hit or miss. Hopefully hit.
The damage is pretty obvious in this case. Just a few dings and scratches but nothing serious.
Love watching your videos, I have a 2002 gtx DI and was curious what RPM they run at WOT.
They vary but roughly 6800-6900 rpm
I rebuilt my di over the winter, thanks for the videos. Wondering if you have any good break in tips?
Don't run full throttle for first tank of fuel. Drive around varying the speeds. Enjoy.
Hi Matt great video, are you able to recommend a machine shop? I live in Scarborough. Thanks! Keep the videos coming.

Ok, good to know thanks!

Can anyone ànswer my question. Why is there a need of a counter balance in this application?
It balances out the crank shaft. Without it the engine would shake apart. It is 180 degrees out of sync with the crank .
Matt have you ever pressure tested a 951DI?
No I have not.
I wouldn't pay for that.
Hmm. not sure what you mean.
Very sloppy and lots of back and forth.
