He attacks you after the first group of snakes vanishes, you can reposition yourself after being sent flying by his attack thanks to the smooth air control in this game, it’s totally fair and consistent
Great job with this boss! Very clean parries, this was one of the tougher bosses for me, and you did a fantastic job at clearing them out! I’m especially impressed with the red slash down with the two knives in phase 2, that attack gave me an insane amount of trouble in my playthrough. Great job!
Hella clean parry and dodges! GG! Tbh of all the bosses (and minibosses) I've seen, this pair is my least favorite by design (lore-wise), but goddamn absolutely god tier music, like, beat everything else by thousands of miles crazy good. Really wish there were more of it. I actually dont get why the english name of them is the Fengs. Perhaps there's some references that I missed, but I dont remember anything about them related to the name "Feng". Also, in myths they're supposed to be siblings that are (upper) half human (lower) half serpent. All the other bosses' art designs have been decently accurate to their myth counterpart (if there's one), dk why this one is so different. Wish there were more direct interaction between the player and Nuwa as well, rather than her just sitting in the background the entire fight Sorry I rambled a ton lol. I just really like this pair, and Nuwa is in my favorite rpg growing up. I guess i just got too excited
I got your feeling. Fuxi and Nuwa are usually known as respectable gods in lore (than other sols). Maybe Red candle tends to use the ancient references, they are brother and sister, their family name is "風"(Feng), they bring the wind instrument and string instrument to the human.
@@VimgaTW Yeah I didn't know their last name was Feng, or that they invented the instrument that each of them was using in game. I only realized it after looking up wikipedia so it was cool to learn something new! What bugged me the most was that those two seemed to be very dependent on each other, and specifically Nuwa herself only sits in the background and doesn't fight the player directly. It's a big contrast to you know, being the three primordial gods along with Shennong (who has his own questline and all). Especially Nuwa is the first of the three, and creator of humans, which makes me wish that she had more of her own identity. (Maybe just a Nuwa fan's biased opinion idk)
Not having a lot of knowledge about Chinese mythology I can’t judge them from that angle. However, for the game’s lore, I can judge. They feel like the dev team got bored with them and their sector. I don’t feel the tragedy of the city as much as I could, and the Fengs feel completely disconnected from the story to the point where you can just take one of their seals by basically accidentally bumping into it, and you fight them… because. They have nothing to offer if not their (implied) rank and (supposedly) money, because by the point I am in the game, the Sols are made of people who actually have a coherent reason to be here for their space colony project : Yi : The New Kunlun’s instigator Kuafu : Lead engineer Goumang : Farmer and biologist Yanlao : Curator Jiequan : General (so probably acting police chief) Lady Ethereal : Programer Ji : Historian The Fengs : Rich ? So probably the investors They don’t care about anything around them, thus meeting them feels unrewarding (it’s no surprise their boss fight feels so frustrating compared to the others). Given the lore you gave about them, it was so easy to make them the propaganda agents. They could’ve even been the ones who would regularly interact with the Apemen to fill them with lies about the Fengshi being gods that brings them art and sophistication. They can even keep their vain behavior, but give it weight, make them argue and justify their position. And gameplay wise, the fight is not fun. They’re two, but only one counts. When I saw them, I thought you’d have to find a way to kill Nuwa or she would help Fuxi back up again and again (kind of like Goumang with her spawns), but no. Fuxi could be alone, it wouldn’t change a thing.
How can you parry this 2 projectiles and the red attack in a row the charged parry needs so much time. The itemdescription in german is totally wrong that makes it impossible to choose the correct jades
Normal parry the two daggers and when you press the parry button for the second dagger hold down the button to charge your unbounded counter. This will let you parry the dagger and immediately charge the unbounded counter to parry the red attack.
You don't pay much attention to gaming do you? Team cherry has been working on hollow knight silksong for 5 years n9w and there's only 3 of then. Which would make making another game impossible
@@theoldblood3804 no need to be a complete NEET about it. Not everyone pays "much attention to gaming", maybe they have something else going on in their lives.
I especially hate when Nuwa spawns in her daggers off screen and you can't see them. Then again, I especially hate this game, but I'm too stubborn to stop playing. I can get through the first phase without taking damage fairly regularly, but I always get Nuwa's daggers overlapping with his crimson attack in such a way where it is impossible to parry the attack. It happens every damn time. The fire that sticks around is really going too far.
It's pretty consistent in P2 to face the daggers and when you parry the second dagger hold down to start an unbounded counter for the crimson attack. The timing is tight but once you get it down the fight becomes significantly easier. I hope you find some enjoyment from the game or at least you're able to reach the end and be released from your torment. Good luck!
@@CrankyTemplarThanks, I'll give that a shot when I get a chance to play next. I really want to like the game, because I like the story, tone, world, and characters. I just don't like the combat system and the atrocious hit boxes.
You're right, there is just enough time to get the parry off, but I think it's time to throw in the towel nonetheless. I had to of tried over 50 times by now, and it's just ruining my mood at this point. Edit: I beat it on my next attempt lol. Now I gotta fight Ji.
The problem w/ this fight is you don't consistently have enough time to unbound counter his crimson attack in the 2nd phase because of how small a window it gives you in between that and the blades. Bad design tbh.
If you tap to parry the 2nd blade and then hold down instead of releasing you'll always have time to unbounded counter. It's not immediately apparent you can do that though.
“Parry this you filthy casual”
The people in the back look like they’ve been partying a little too long
2:12 i've never seen an attack as unfair as that. love it when parrying fuxi sends you flying directly into the snakes.
There’s a jade that reduces knockback when parrying, helped me a lot with this fight.
position yourself correctly and its fine

Parry both bones er.. knives and hold on second parry to charge parry for red attack.
Yeah they were on acid at this part of the game
I've done this boss with increased attack speed and inner damage recovery on hits. Just chopped him into pieces.
I want to cry and throw my switch out the window.

That parry tech of hold on the second projectile @1:26 was not something I realized you could do 😮

I think Fuxi and Nuwa’s death was the saddest boss death in the game to me
Man I get hit twice in the second phase and I’m absolutely melted 😂
What the Fuxi is this
Cloud piercer arrows at least at S level knocks him to his knees every single time you hit him with one. Surprised even me with that one.
Cloud piercer is great for interrupting bad attacks or to get some breathing room to heal.
You're good. I thought you'd get hit around the 2:30 mark till i saw that parry.. GG's
I was annoyed that purple ball spawned after shooting those two arrows as I could have ended it with a talisman explosion.
Is there a Jade to be able to parry faster? In phase 2 you parry those projectiles then unbounded counter back to back.

When you parry the second dagger keep the parry button held down to charge an unbound counter for the red attack.

Enhanced Qi Blast gives an arrow charge back whenever you use a 3-point Qi Blast.
