Brilliant man love watching and learning thank you very much ❤️👀👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
As always very nice work and attention to detail. Much better hauler than the crappy old Citroen based one I have. Mine is a front wheel drive Citroen cab with a custom made bed and two Al-Ko torsion beam axles. Won't win any beauty prizes! The best thing I added to it are secure storage boxes below the bed on either side for straps, chocks, ropes and all the crap you need to carry. One day I plan to attach the rear bed to a more modern cab unit, bit more power and comfort.
I'm not interested in a recovery truck at all.....but..... it's just great watching you work it all out, you work very quick as well, probably quicker than you think, but that is what happens when people are good at there jobs..... just found you (at start of mx5 conversion) and I'm made up.👍👍
i remember years ago a friend had one of these.. he had to make the front bumper from half inch plate so the truck would steer & handle safely ( also came in handy for moving wrecks around his yard )
Build it like you going to use it yourself. Great video. Can't wait to see the first load up. Please film that so we can see if your material choice/thickness was a good call.
Wow build for the start, what about start with running bars from the back bumper below the back wheel to the cab, then drops down building a battery, water tank, water storage, ac unit generated all below the chassis and both side? The would increase the room upside. And help handling as the weight not top heavy. And then you can go 2 stories? A sun deck? LOL . My van I want to move these item under neet but it’s very hard to do now. Can’t get enough of Space so extra planing and double use or even triple use open u p a large living room and seem specious. Mine a Art Deco/ ocean decor, but your right build for lite. Or you can’t add on decor much.
Hay guys and Matt, at minute 8:16 while Matt is talking, look under the truck right below the spare tire. There's something I can't explain what, kinda looks like white smoke gliding from left to right. Was the engine running? To me, kinda looks like a cats head. But it disappears. Weird!
Did I just see a unicorn,I can't believe it that Transit has got a spare wheel. My spare wheel was constantly getting stolen, after the 3rd time i started keeping it in the cab.
Haven't watched it yet, but liked it already! I'm in the middle of building a crew cab Movano recovery truck, done a 30 inch chassis extension on it too. The welds aren't as good looking as yours though lol
How many lengths of box section was needed to make this mate just brought a mk6 transit and want to make my own bed will be using these videos as a guide
What do you do interms of legality ? Do you need to get an engineers inspection prior to mot ? What happens in terms of log books can it still be classified as Ford transit van or ? Just curious as I might do this myself got a transit flat head for cheap with some rotted out parts so I’m repairing the damage
Hummm...this shows up on my recommended feed...let's take a look...nice...me likie likie :) Well, ya just got a sub from me...now, to watch more of your vid's :) I hope you have a great day, stay cool & be safe.
Looking good. Are you going to move the spare wheel hanger back? Be a pain fishing that out of there on a dark winters night. Looking forward to see it finished
hello i'm from indonesia. what I want to ask is, what is the size and thickness of the pipe used ?. with pipes and construction like this, what is the maximum weight you can carry ?. thank you..
Hi mate looking to get a recovery truck, love the build by the way, just wondering what type of licence I’d need for a transit one like yours, would i need a c1 or just in car licence ? Thanks dude
Can anyone help me please just trying to find out the height of the tubes. From chassis to the top of the tube cab side and the same at the back. Looks about 300mm by the cab.
Love the project and all the vids looks great am planning on building myself one soon and I just wanted to know what size box section you are using all round and where you sourced it from?
Nice project. Not interested in a recovery truck per say, but I do enjoy your fabrication vids. Good job. P.s. was that a carton of oatly milk I spied on the bench? Good man!👍

awesome....glad to see you pumping out some content
Cheers mate, taking your advice!
Brother I appreciate your video I'm studying this topic to build a truck
Enjoyed watching you gradually work out the design over the day.

Liked before i even watched. I need to get my skills up always wanted to build a tow truck
Well done boys.
You get a lot done in a day. Thanks for sharing.
Interesting project to work on.
Nice work. I couldn't afford a truck so built a light weight transporter trailer for my classic ford racecar.

the camera was sped up
Very impressed looking forward to more!
Really into this project man. Cant wait for part 2
vosa/dvsa have been nicking trucks like this, not for the overhang itself nor for rear axle overweight but for front axle underweight .
i remember years ago a friend had one of these.. he had to make the front bumper from half inch plate so the truck would steer & handle safely ( also came in handy for moving wrecks around his yard )
Nice! Thanks

Cheers, will do.

We call them dove tails over here. Looks like it's going together good.
Cheers
Did I just see a unicorn,I can't believe it that Transit has got a spare wheel. My spare wheel was constantly getting stolen, after the 3rd time i started keeping it in the cab.
My dad still got spare wheel under his van
looks to be a very pristine chassis.
Dunno about pristine, shes solid though. Cheers
Hi what saw are you using to cut the metal thanks
Haven't watched it yet, but liked it already! I'm in the middle of building a crew cab Movano recovery truck, done a 30 inch chassis extension on it too. The welds aren't as good looking as yours though lol
Sound cool, I wanted a crew cab transit really but couldn't find one. Cheers
How is your truck keeping up?
Nice how much would material and labor cost for this..TIA
Hi well done
what type and what kind of steel use4142 4140 or 4130 on the chassis bed frame?
Hi. How has your ramp truck held up? I'd love to build one myself. How tall are your up rights where it bolts to the body
Thanks for sharing . Please let me know length of cargo before modify. After modified body length 15 ft.
How many lengths of box section was needed to make this mate just brought a mk6 transit and want to make my own bed will be using these videos as a guide
Just for the info you can have only 60% overhang of the wheel base
Quick question for you, whats the paperwork like to register it
What length was th box secrions
I built one of these on my channel as well. Yours looks really nice

This may have been answered but what size of square tubing did you use and what’s the wall thickness? Thank you!!
I like the beaver tail...not much in to dovetail!
Nice work thinking of building one from alloy have you built one from alloy? Any recommendations on thickness of alloy? Cheers
Is that a uni-body delivery truck ?
Would really like to attempt something like this. Don’t suppose you have a more detailed blueprint digital copy??
Hummm...this shows up on my recommended feed...let's take a look...nice...me likie likie :)
Well, ya just got a sub from me...now, to watch more of your vid's :)
I hope you have a great day, stay cool & be safe.

Will you be able to do this sort of thing for customers see if they interested in it give them good prices
Would that help you?
Do I need to tell dvla if I am doing an conversion from pickup truck to recovery truck ?
If I was to use aluminium instead of steel. What thickness aluminium should be used
Nice work as ever ,have you checked for rot on the inner wings front chassis legs??
Yeh, shes solid.
Looking good. Are you going to move the spare wheel hanger back? Be a pain fishing that out of there on a dark winters night. Looking forward to see it finished
No it drops down on a cable so should still be easy to get at. Me too. Cheers

Hi mate looking to get a recovery truck, love the build by the way, just wondering what type of licence I’d need for a transit one like yours, would i need a c1 or just in car licence ? Thanks dude
Just a standard car license as its a 3.5t van
Cool vid mate. What editing software do you use?
premiere pro, I dont know how to use it for shit though.
Great video, going to build my body soon with your help. Were you using aluminium or steel? Thanks
Can anyone help me please just trying to find out the height of the tubes. From chassis to the top of the tube cab side and the same at the back. Looks about 300mm by the cab.
What chop saw are you using mate?
Its an evolution raptor, il be doing a review vid video on it soon because I love it and hate it.
Urchfab Interesting mate! I’m unsure weather to get a chop saw or big bandsaw 🤔
Love the project and all the vids looks great am planning on building myself one soon and I just wanted to know what size box section you are using all round and where you sourced it from?
Looking sweet. Are going to do any rust prevention on the insides of the tubes?
I might get it galvanised. not sure yet.
What's the finished weight
Hello. Where are you based? Need some mods doing...
Nice project. Not interested in a recovery truck per say, but I do enjoy your fabrication vids. Good job.
P.s. was that a carton of oatly milk I spied on the bench? Good man!👍
Sure is! Cheers.
It looks like one of your outriggers is sitting on the tire. I assume it's just the camera angle?
Just the angle mate.
Just make sure you arnt exceeding the rear axal weight or vosa will have you.
Curious, how do you get the money to do all of this?????
I had some savings but there pretty much gone.
How much would it cost for you to build me a recovery body???
Hi where u base I wonder if u interested in building my truck iveco daily tipper with hiab into recovery truck
I need recovery truck bed build
Can u do my truck
Do you have to comply with commercial vehicle regulation nonsense for something like this, or is it okay because it is a bolt on deal?
Il have to re register it but other than that its straight forward.
The body is not safe mounted like that
