Hate on Samsung but they've had a good implementation of things like multi window for years which has been a big feature request for stock android for years. Theres also a few things that just got added in 5.0 that people love that Samsung has had for quite a while. I don't care how much companies add to their version of Android as long as it runs well, which their newest phones do. If i don't like it then i'll buy a different phone. If everybody used almost stock Android it would make the market pretty dull.
I really enjoy the high quality shots of the phone and then the... behind the scenes shot while you were talking about the phone. I think that shot gives the audience a window into the work it takes for you to produce a video.

Just bought a 1+one even though its almost a year old. Going from a Galaxy Note 4 to the One+one. Very excited as a huge Cyanogenmod fan. I also couldn't believe all the custom roms available on XDA! Looks great!

Well your right but it would have to be done regardless since cyanogen isn't there partner anymore. Think of it as preparing to live a life on your own.
They were forced to do it after cyanogen backstabbed them. They aren't partners anymore. However, cm is contractually obligated to provide updates for oneplus one for 2 years.
Will Carr Cyanogen fucked them, told them they would be the first to get updates, then didn't provide them, told them they couldn't tell the One plus one in some countries because another manufacturer they signed had rights to cyanogen mod in that country. This was after they signed what was called exclusive rights to One plus one and a Cyanogen. Now they are backtracking heavily. One Plus One got some developers from other ROMs, quite a few from Paranoid Android's team and built their own, so they could control the OS as well. Updates will come soon enough. The stock route is a good idea, I think that comes from the PA developers they hired. Over time more features will be added and Oxygen OS will probably take over as the only OS to ship with the One Plus One.

I've used almost every ROM you can think of. My go to ROM has been Cyanogen for quite a while now. When I flashed the Oxygen os ROM for my Oneplus One I had low expectations. I am highly impressed with the ROM so far. Its stability is far better than Cyanogen 11S. Everything is buttery smooth. That screen issue we had that stopped the screen from turning on or working here and there with cyanogen is completely gone. The off screen gestures work better and do not open in the pocket as often. The battery life seems to be on par with cyanogen. Mind blown by this ROM and I really hope updates can roll out on time for this surprisingly great ROM.
Or install another ROM. I currently use blisspop, and it's far more customizable than Oxygen. It works flawlessly and is definitely the more stable of the other 3rd party bunch.
Random Accεss Mεmoriεs CM12 for the OPO has been out since the 5th of January actually :p I've been using it since then. These are Nightly builds we are talking about though, so no official stable one.

I agree with Mathias. Right now CM12 nightly has many more features, and feels a bit more complete than OOS does. I tried OOS out, and it just seemed.... bland. I guess I'm not really a stock person. Hopefully there will be more customization and features with coming updates.
***** If you want a basic ROM that is 100% stable and is similar to an experience you'd get on a Nexus device (since this is Google Certified), get OxygenOS. If you want a more customizable experience and are willing to deal with a few bugs here and there, go for the CM12 nightlies. I flashed this ROM when it came out because I had too many problems with OK Google recognition in my car, bluetooth audio, visual bugs and slight stuttering with CM12 nightlies. OxygenOS is way more polished, but it doesn't have a lot of features.

I am suffering a bug that I can't handle calls unless I open loud speaker or restart the phone and I am not sure if it's because car Bluetooth or WhatsApp calling until now as it occurs after those events. If you meant that bug I am willing to switch to OxygenOS just because of this issue. I will miss [Quick unlock] from CM11 though if I made the switch!
I just ran into an issue with google play services and wake lock. Its a simple fix, but the glitch was just recently caught by Cyanogen and late last month. Basically, SystemUpdateServices, the service that updates nexus-specific software, prevents the phone from going into deep sleep when disabled. What you have to do is install autostarts (google it for the free full APK), search for SystemUpdateServices, then disable everything that pops up. This will fix the issue until OnePlus does. Keep in mind that CM had this problem just until around the 20th of March too. Other than that small, yet extremely annoying bug, this OS is pretty great. Bluetooth works as intended. While listening to music, any incoming notifications will properly dim the music and return the music back to the proper volume without temporarily playing everything over your phone's loud speakers.
Really disappointing, most custom ROMs have more features than this. OnePlus made a whole new title for the OS just to include editable quick settings basically...

I get a feeling that the One Plus Two will come with Oxygen OS by default, over the next few months they are probably going to be working hard on adding more features now that it's released and close to stock Android so extremely stable. Ok guys I flashed it on my OnePlus One. I went from the nightly cm12 to Oxygen OS. Right off the bat it feels very smooth. The only downsides I see so far is that there is no _Themes_ settings like in cm. and you also can't customize the lockscreen quick-launch apps. Oxygen OS is bare bones right now but I like it.
If the screen was turning on inside your pocket, the CM 11s update took care of that by being able to toggle on the proximity sensor to check if the phone was pocketed before turning the screen on if that gesture is detected.
Wow I did not expect for oxygen os to be any good but wow. What a breath of fresh air. Stock with added enhancements. This is how you do it everyone else.
I downloaded Oxygen OS this morning and flashed it. Oh man, this ROM is STABLE. Animations are buttery smooth and everything just works, unlike some of the CM12 nightlies that I flashed (which I flashed every day). I honestly wasn't going to recommend the OnePlus One to any other of my friends and colleges that wanted to switch to the iPhone because of instability with most lollipop ROMs and the outdated CM11s Kit Kat stock ROM. However, this ROM completely changes my opinion about the OnePlus One. If you don't want to pay for a Nexus 6, buy this phone.
1) I'm watching this on a OnePlus One 2) There will be an OTA for Oxygen OS later on 3) What I would want from Oxygen, is theme support, and launcher customization, like how we can change animations and etc. of the launcher on Cyanogen 11S

Already have CM nightly on 5.0.2 which is near flawless so far otherwise I would give it a shot. Great video once multi OS works with lollipop I will give it a go.
I use a nexus.. And I love stock android!! So anyone who has a nexus should be happy with this phone and its OS!! A better phone than a nexus and still the same user experience at same or less price point!!
Google's stock camera app does not support 4K video recording in OxygenOS. So, if you guys are shooting videos with your OnePlus One, in 4K, I recommend you to wait until this issues are fixed. 16:9 aspect ratio is limited to only 2.1 and 0.9MP too, so you are not able to take 9.7MP/8.8MP Wide photos out of the box. I've tested the ROM for a couple of hours and I am pretty satisfied. Yet, the battery lasts the same as on Cyanogenmod 11S, the overall performance is better, vanilla experience. Hope OnePlus will resolve this bugs.
Funny to see how the top comments are just calling it featureless and useless whereas in 4 years (BTW, don't know why it's in my recommended), its now more fluid and full of essential features and the top-selling point of OnePlus Phones. Even MKBHD stated that.
Get Oxygen OS and install xposed framework with Gravitybox [LP]. There's also a ton of other good xposed modules that will add features and cool things to the ROM.
Hey MKBHD, we have OnePlus Ones in our main office in LA! We made a custom ROM ourself, the camera app is able to run 4k at 54 FPS, and we will be adding other features in the next few months!
U forgot to mention ... If people want to revert back to 11s from O2 ... They have to flash CM 12 nightly first and then flash CM11s. Its something to do with Oxygens boot loader not working nicely with CyanogenMod KitKat ... Cheers
My second thought after I saw this was available this morning was "I can't wait for MKBHD to review this!" Flashed it earlier, nice clean ROM but no current XPOSED support, so back to CM11S for now.
Bought the oneplus last week. Can do all of screen gestures on stocks OS, all I can't do is customise the shortcuts from the pull down menu. Don't want to update and be forced to use the Google camera as it seems it takes pictures a LOT slower on the oneplus
The Oxygen os is alright but it took a long time to install and set my phone up to be ready to install. This is pure simple OS. I would recommend it because everything run smoothly only a few bugs but it will be fixed in the next update

If the screen was turning on inside your pocket, the CM 11s update took care of that by being able to toggle on the proximity sensor to check if the phone was pocketed before turning the screen on if that gesture is detected.

Wow I did not expect for oxygen os to be any good but wow. What a breath of fresh air. Stock with added enhancements. This is how you do it everyone else.

I downloaded Oxygen OS this morning and flashed it. Oh man, this ROM is STABLE. Animations are buttery smooth and everything just works, unlike some of the CM12 nightlies that I flashed (which I flashed every day).
I honestly wasn't going to recommend the OnePlus One to any other of my friends and colleges that wanted to switch to the iPhone because of instability with most lollipop ROMs and the outdated CM11s Kit Kat stock ROM. However, this ROM completely changes my opinion about the OnePlus One. If you don't want to pay for a Nexus 6, buy this phone.
1) I'm watching this on a OnePlus One
2) There will be an OTA for Oxygen OS later on
3) What I would want from Oxygen, is theme support, and launcher customization, like how we can change animations and etc. of the launcher on Cyanogen 11S

Greatest thing about is that is so close to stock. I love stock Android. Though I'm a Windows phone user, if I ever were to switch back, I'd go for something like this.

Already have CM nightly on 5.0.2 which is near flawless so far otherwise I would give it a shot. Great video once multi OS works with lollipop I will give it a go.
I use a nexus.. And I love stock android!! So anyone who has a nexus should be happy with this phone and its OS!!

Google's stock camera app does not support 4K video recording in OxygenOS. So, if you guys are shooting videos with your OnePlus One, in 4K, I recommend you to wait until this issues are fixed. 16:9 aspect ratio is limited to only 2.1 and 0.9MP too, so you are not able to take 9.7MP/8.8MP Wide photos out of the box.
I've tested the ROM for a couple of hours and I am pretty satisfied. Yet, the battery lasts the same as on Cyanogenmod 11S, the overall performance is better, vanilla experience. Hope OnePlus will resolve this bugs.

Funny to see how the top comments are just calling it featureless and useless whereas in 4 years (BTW, don't know why it's in my recommended), its now more fluid and full of essential features and the top-selling point of OnePlus Phones. Even MKBHD stated that.
Simple or not, it still isn't an "upgrade" from CM11S if you take away features. The jump in the OS number isn't worth losing the CM11S features imo
Get Oxygen OS and install xposed framework with Gravitybox [LP]. There's also a ton of other good xposed modules that will add features and cool things to the ROM.

Hey MKBHD, we have OnePlus Ones in our main office in LA! We made a custom ROM ourself, the camera app is able to run 4k at 54 FPS, and we will be adding other features in the next few months!
I only use quick settings for two reasons, the first being for adjusting the brightness at night and the second for rotating my screen to watch porn
U forgot to mention ... If people want to revert back to 11s from O2 ... They have to flash CM 12 nightly first and then flash CM11s.
Its something to do with Oxygens boot loader not working nicely with CyanogenMod KitKat ...

Nice video and thanks for showing of the ROM, but I'm keeping to Cyanogenmod, cause this seems more like a watered down version of Cyanogenmod
My second thought after I saw this was available this morning was "I can't wait for MKBHD to review this!" Flashed it earlier, nice clean ROM but no current XPOSED support, so back to CM11S for now.
I hope you will start reviewing the Sony phones at some point , and good video by the way , as always.

Bought the oneplus last week. Can do all of screen gestures on stocks OS, all I can't do is customise the shortcuts from the pull down menu. Don't want to update and be forced to use the Google camera as it seems it takes pictures a LOT slower on the oneplus
The one thing I would have liked is custom shortcuts on the quick settings screen. I always want shortcuts to interruptions and alarms on there.
To avoid gestures activating in your pocket you can just use a tasker profile to prevent that from happening

The Oxygen os is alright but it took a long time to install and set my phone up to be ready to install. This is pure simple OS. I would recommend it because everything run smoothly only a few bugs but it will be fixed in the next update
Stability, smoothness, no crazy battery drain and nearly bug-free. Except those mentioned, more choices doesn't necessarily mean more happiness. =P
