I don't think Debra realizes how fast three minutes is. By the time you walk down stairs, get in the car, double check all the things you brought with you to go out to town, the three minute practically vanish in an instant.
Three minutes takes forever when it's the last 3 minutes of your shift at work ha
It’s THREE minutes. Even if she was late, so what, it’s THREE minutes. He got so worked up about three minutes, but never puts the same passion into his kids or marriage. So he IS capable of putting effort in something, just not about his family.
@@lang-ed3bk Uh, what does this have to do with being on time?
@@lang-ed3bk it’s called being professional. Funny Debra never put anytime into kids or marriage either. She was busy assaulting her husband like Ike Turner. He hired a babysitter because she whined and whined some more when babysitter was more loved by her kids
Double check what things? Lol theyre going to a work party....also...shoudnt take tou 3 minutes to walk to a car
Roberts Deep Bass voice saying “He’s gone…” GOLD
This is one of the episodes where I root for Ray. Debra should have been done at least 30 min earlier. She knew how important this event is to him and yet she cuts it so close. Her fault.
It wasn't even the "cutting it close" aspect....it was that last f.u she wanted to give out to him... It wasn't needed, it was her arrogance and disrespect towards him...
Yeah she should have been ready
It’s ridiculous to give someone a time yet expect them to be ready 30 minutes earlier than the stated time.
That’s like someone getting mad because you didn’t wake up 30 minutes earlier than your alarm clock in the morning.
If you expect them 30 minutes earlier, then tell them 30 minutes earlier.
@@lang-ed3bkKnowing herself, she is the one who should set a personal time for 30 minutes early. As Mom always used to say, ‘Be early and you might be on time..!’ 😅
@@lang-ed3bk "It’s ridiculous to give someone a time yet expect them to be ready 30 minutes earlier than the stated time."
It's ridiculous to give someone a time yet expect them to not be ready, anyway.
2:42 “He’s gone.”
Robert was absolutely terrified!😂😂😂
😂”I don’t know what ma sees in him!”~ Robert. 😉
I wonder why Debra waited until the last 3 minutes to do her hair🤷♂️
She also promised Ray that she would be ready on time to leave at 6:30 AIS. I gotta go with Ray on this one.
She was just putting the last finishing touches. She didn’t start at the last 3 minutes. She would’ve been on time if the curling iron didn’t get stuck.
@@lang-ed3bk I understand about the last finishing touches and all that stuff, but how long does it take for a woman to get ready? Really?🤷♂️
Couldn’t had just given herself extra time?
@@lang-ed3bkDon't blame the curling iron Debra didn't need to curl her hair it was perfect the way it was but she wanted to add a curl which made her Late Ray had evey right to leave she should of been on time my case worker can do it and she has to drive around A lot so if she can do it Debra should of been on time and yes I know this is a T.V Show so don't bother printing that out think you to whoever likes to printing that out to whoever likes to do that
@@islanders1329fan how is she going to give herself more time, when she has to run the house all by herself, with no help from ray?
Guys only have to change clothes. Women have to do their hair and makeup; if she didn’t, I’m sure ray would’ve been embarrassed.
@@elizabethrosebell your comment is hard to understand
2:42 *“He’s gone…”*
Gives me chills when he said that.
The look of terror on Robert’s face was hilarious😂😂😂
Then Robert laughs at the fact that Ray is coming home to a shit storm. He’s a very petty person.
I’m with Ray on this one
*"Three minutes to spare."*
That's still cutting it too close; but when Debra grabbed the curling iron, I was actually rooting for Ray to leave her. Ass in seat... a deal's a deal.
@@Kwaj , Ray was most certainly that.
Exactly! She deserved exactly what she got.
Agreed 💯 Especially her bein the one agreeing to the A.I.S detail
Amy: Isn't she like a beauty queen?
Robert: Yes. Like, um... an angry Miss New York.
Honestly I don’t blame him for leaving.
I concur
I Agree😂
I agree. I don't like habitual lateness. She was wrong.
The thing is.... you always wait no matter what, if they arrive late then it's on her, you can use that to your advantage later.
@@22espec Except he reminded her that the dinner is very important to him and would like to be on time to it which is not too much to ask but nope she didn’t care and decided to take her sweet time being and being selfish. Though it’s not as bad as the Super Bowl episode.
The look of doom on Robert's face was perfect. 😂
I don’t blame Ray. This is one of the few times I agree with him.
This is so good to see. Every single man has wanted to do this regardless of the anger afterwards. Dude is a champ. They agreed.
She had a curling iron stuck in her hair. It’s ridiculous to see it as “he’s standing up for all the men” as if she didn’t care about the time.
@@lang-ed3bkhad she been a responsible person, she wouldn’t have rushed and had plenty of time to knit pick her hair. 1. A curling iron takes 5-10 minutes to heat up. 2. She still needs her coat and keys and purse which takes time. 3. If if was her waiting on him to meet her family or something, she’d have done the same thing. You snooze, you lose. 3 minutes early is 5 minutes too late
@@lang-ed3bklol you definitely the one who's always late in your group arent you
@@momomo768 3 minutes is 5 minutes too late? Your math is off.
@@X10AFreedomGundam her hair was stuck in a curling iron all night long. It has nothing to do with being a late person. Even if she got ready 30 minutes earlier, she still wouldn’t been able to get it out in time.
My sister had in-laws like Debra. Never on time to any family event. My sister was expected to hold Christmas gift exchange and dinner for the extended family, which were held 2 weeks before the actual date. There was one family (her step brother and his wife and kids) that never showed up on time. They still expected food and everyone to wait. My sister got fed up one year. The family was three hours late when dinner was at 4 pm. When they arrived gift exchange had occurred and the meal was done and cleaned up. She told them no food was available. They stayed an hour, took their gifts and left. They never came again.
3:26 4:32 Robert is laughing. Because he is looking forward to see Raymond will face his terrible consequence
@@jonathancruz5932 That's the problem with Robert. He's always wishing something bad to happen to Raymond, yet it has a tendency to blow up in his face and then circle around and bite him in his azz.🤣
Ray was right. He was about heaps of stuff.
I love that even the crowd was like "ooooooooh". Lol
“I’ve been saying it for 40 years, he’s a terrible person.” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
One of the times Ray was 100% in the right
80%. He should not have driven off. If he had stayed back and went to confront her about it being late, then he would’ve seen her hair disaster, and acted appropriately. Driving off basically showed he didn’t care, and gave her the advantage
@@Jai137 that wasn’t the deal that Debra made. They made a deal. Ray held up his end and she got pissed. She had no respect for him.
@@chrisastin184 and he showed no respect for her by driving off. He should have stayed behind. Even if here was no curling iron incident, at least at 7:30 he had every right to go up there and confront her about the lateness. And even here, he could at least tell her off for trying to do makeup till the last minute.
@@Jai137nah, respect the deal and be accountable. no excuse for waiting until the last 3 minutes to use a curling iron for an unnecessary touch up. be accountable or stay home. let's take the emotion of of the equation.
@@dlee6014 well, firstly, the curling iron incident was out of her hands. If it worked properly, she would have been on time. This was circumstances out of her control. This is why Ray should’ve stayed back, at least he could see her problem.
Secondly, I am mostly on the side of Ray, but he really shot himself in the foot by leaving her behind. It was a dick move, and he even realised it later. Deal or not, if he loved his wife, he would not have driven off.
And let’s be honest, we want Ray to drive off and not feel guilty because we have partners who take so long getting ready and making us late. And even In the context of this show, we want Ray to have some victory over Debra considering the number of times he screws up and feels Debra’s wrath. The problem is, in this particular incident, while she should not have spent the last few minutes using her curling iron and got entangled, it was out of her control. And had Ray stayed behind, he would have had some standing.
“But they had a deal-“ Barring excruciating circumstances! Is that so hard to understand? If she fell down the stairs and broke her ankle, would you still agree to let Ray drive off because “They had a deal”?
Ray shouldn't have apologized, Debra showed a complete lack over respect for him over and over again and he called her out on it and she couldn't handle
What was she trying to say to prove by getting that last curl? She put that on herself. She’s trying to put her error on Ray instead of seeing how dumb it was.
You act like she got the curler stuck on purpose to disrespect him.
@@lang-ed3bk The point is that SHE NEVER SHOULD HAVE DITHERED with the "last curl." And in CHOOSING to putz with her hair further (especially when it was already perfectly fine and she was thus far "on time -- albeit running close), SHE ASSUMED THE COMPLETE RISK and RESPONSIBILITY for THINGS GOING WRONG -- whether that was a stuck curler, burned hair, twisting her ankle because she was racing and/or tripping down the stairs after wasting the 3 minutes and was now late, WHATEVER. It's 100% HER FAULT, regardless of her "intent" (or lack thereof) to get the curler stuck !!!!!!!!!!! INTENT has NOTHING TO DO with mission success/failure. You either accomplish the objective or you don't. Debra FAILED pure and simple, short and sweet -- and no amount of "But, but, but ... I didn't mean to get the curler stuck" quibbling changes anything !!!! Shocking that some people can't see and understand that basic truth and always look for EXCUSES to absolve themselves of RESPONSIBILITY for THEIR screw-ups and failures. She gave herself ZERO margin for error, and SHE screwed up.
@@wingedbuffalo4670 you made some good points, but you seem so angry, I’m really not interested in continuing.
@@lang-ed3bk Sorry you feel that way. It's not a personal attack at all (It really isn't). And it really isn't "anger" either because it's NOT REAL -- it's a FICTIOUS comedy sketch. Rather, however, I was/am trying to make a teaching moment for all readers because the broader root issues ARE prevalent in our society.
I had a military career -- and if I had a dollar for every person in the civilian world [and to a certain extent -- but a much, MUCH smaller one -- in the military world] that failed simply to "own" their mistakes, genuinely accept responsibility, and sincerely say "I messed up, I'm sorry, and I'll never make that mistake again" (instead of making goofball excuses, injecting irrelevant factors into the fact matrix, and/or trying to quibble), I'd be rich !!! My first boss gave me a great lesson the first time I made a mistake (my problem was NOT one of failure to accept responsibility, but rather that I actually felt worse about it than the situation warranted). He told me that making mistakes isn't per se a bad thing because effort shows you're trying; rather the bad thing was not owning up to the mistakes when they occur AND failing to make sure we didn't make the SAME mistake again. Generally speaking, many military veterans can be spotted by their tendency TO:
a) accept responsibility
b) apologize when warranted
c) NOT quibble or otherwiae make excuses
d) NOT attempt to shift blame elsewhere or to others, and
e) NOT repeat the same error.
And if one has made the military a life career, I guess the tolerance isn't very high for others who respond the way we don't. Sorry about that (but not for our outlook, standards, or our way of responding :))

Don’t worry dude, that was a cop out where they didn’t want to admit they were wrong
I did that once. I complained about being late for the movies and SHE SAID i should leave without her. I did. She arrived after the movie started. We divorced a long time ago. (Not for that alone.)
You really shouldn’t put shoes on the table.
As an Asian, that’s so gross to me.
Everyone talking about Ray leaving but my mind is on them touching that supposedly hot curling iron lol.

In who raymond robert is nothing compared to ray
I mean I get it I am someone who always gets nervous when I am running late to always be held back by another person all the time yeah its extreme but I get the anger.
Ray is an immature, man-child with mother issues. Debra is a spiteful, whiny and will openly shame Ray in front of others. But in this episode, Ray is completely in the right.
One of the many reasons NOT to mess with hair and make up
More reason of I very rarely wear makeup (mascara and lip gloss really all need)
She was wrong, period. When this came out I was a kid but now I have been with my wife for 14 years so I feel comfortable saying punctuality matters. He said they were leaving at this time and she wasn't there.
That being said, if we were in the same situation I would just go upstairs and tell her we are leaving lets effing go. Then we would fight in the car for 5 minutes and that would be that.
Heavy is the head that wears the 👑 crown baby 💯
She should have just unplugged it and and went down to talk to Ray...but plot reasons she didn't.
Women actually WILL do stuff like that tho.
That’s a good point, that would’ve been better.
If quick get out of that, I woulda grabbed scissors ✂️ cut the hair section that's stuck. Rest hair blend it in nobody notice
I got news for you, nobody sided with Debra on this one
Ray was right
I don't care who was in the right, I just loved the fact THIS WAS FUNNY!!!
Patricia acting was TOP NOTCH!!!!
Ray realising how screwed he is, especially with Andy and Bernie and when Frank told Ray he never ditched Marie.
Plus I love the end when Debra made him wait and the end to torture him. Petty revenge mixed with pure comedy genius!!!
Sit my dear. I've got us ringside seats. Hahaha.
Debra was completely wrong here. She's making a bad habit of being late! But I have seen so many husbands have had this same problem. It's what you get for choosing to marry a "prettier than thou" type. 😂
You count your losses....
She a Women all ways late
The only way people who are rude enough to always be late learn is to do as Raymond did…leave them behind. And, keep doing it until the get their act together and be on time.
This is one time I was 100% with Ray.
Oh, vanity!
It happens all the time. Theyre not ready and you are. So instead of just waiting you find something to do. Then when they're finally ready you're in the middle of something and they say YOU'RE delaying them.
This is so damn accurate
Thing is this accurate as F. Best thing to is say the event is an hour or 2 earlier than what it is theyll technically be on time. If not then thats a big problem
Early is on-time.
On-time is late.
And being late, there is no excuse and can be unforgivable.
Regardless, you wait for the Wife.
Why should someone had to lie foe people to be punctual? Being punctual is called being responsible. It also tends to symbolize how much someone cares.
@@charlespeakjr2168Even though it’s something very important he would have to wait. Debra should’ve gotten dressed and ready a hour before hand instead of a few minutes before they have to leave. If one is not ready on time they get left behind plain and simple.
@@kish45 I'm not certain if you read my last sentence, so I will repeat my previous statement.
Regardless, you still wait for The Wife. Happy wife, happy life.👍🏾
Also, IMHO. Debra had already looked hot. She didn't need to curl her hair.😉
@@charlespeakjr2168 I did read it but regardless the night was very important to Ray and the fact that she was very selfish and didn’t seem care. The only other episode where she was even more selfish was the Super Bowl episode.
Ray did nothing wrong..they had a deal. She broke it. He had every right to leave. I wouldve left too. And had 0 guilt about it. She has no right to be mad.
Exactly
Dont get married lol
Typical female, always the victim!
"Bust a deal spin the wheel"
This is the best Debra ever looked.
For me it's the episode where rays parents get kicked out of the old folks him. Debra's wearing brown pants and yellow shirt..she's smoking hot in that episode
@alexmotts When she's wearing mini skirt and low cut top.
@@alexmotts wow, she must have made quite the impression for you to remember that outfit, and to know which episode
Ok.... Ray said that he would leave if she wasn't in the seat she also agreed to that too... She gets mad that he did when they agreed to it it annoys me that she does agree but like thinks that he'll never do it... Like the thought process is astounding, also yeah ray shouldn't rush it isn't nice but still try to be ready on time too being late to things isn't fun because if your going out to a place and like reserved something they will not care if you're late. Somehow I'm sure deb would pin that on ray too somehow lol. There's a lot to unpack there and like to stipulate on but nah I'm lazy lol.
Might fine kicks. Lmao 🤣 🤣
I don't blame him for leaving. I would have done the same
When she said 3 minutes to spare in that condescending tone. I think 99% of people would be with Ray on this one.
And then she puts her dirty shoes on the kitchen table? Ray was definitely right for leaving but has Marie actually been low key right about her keeping a filthy house?
I think ray did the right thing nothing is worse then someone who makes you late for everything.
The way he dealt with the problem was disrespectful. Resolve issues better, not by creating more problems.
He is right, she doesn’t really care for him n this here proves it.
I don’t blame Ray because all women take a long time to get ready
Ray was 100% justified.
Don’t agree. He could’ve told her he was leaving because they had a deal. Instead he chose to do it in a disrespectful way.
@@lang-ed3bk No need to tell her because she knew he was leaving at 6:30. That was the deal. If he had taken the time to tell her he was leaving because it was 6:30, by then it would be after 6:30 and that would defeat the purpose of the deal.
agree with Ray 100% on this one, he did the right thing- I have been married 25 years, I wouldn't have the heart to do it because I would have to come home and see her later but good for Ray.
"Does not care about me."
Says the guy who only thinks about himself.
Yeah he's such a egocentric narcissist
She was basically a married single mother
Like deb doesn't do that
Ray was a hero in this episode. Every husband can relate to the wife who makes everyone wait for an appointment, dinner party, family get together, corporate event, vacation, or date night simply because she is so important and everyone else is not. Men get nervous about women being late since it makes them look bad. Plus it is the polite thing to do to show up on time. Good for Ray showing Debra the way it's supposed to be.
I totally sided with Ray. They had a deal and they shook hands on it. How was he supposed to know she got stuck in the hair thing?
They both probably deserved what they got
Debra for not being ready in time in the past
And Ray for not communicating better and frequently
That’s because when Ray does communicate he sounds like a whiny bitch. There’s probably a reason they’re together, because a more assertive man wouldn’t put up with her shit testing, and she wouldn’t want to be around a man she can’t manipulate.
I don't blame Ray one bit. Debra should have been on time.
I am impressed with Debra's slinky strap dress.
I remember watching this episode for the first time in high school. I knew Ray was in so much trouble.
Good for ray
it's about time they showed the wife being the jerk for a change, it's always the husband but comedy doesn't realize in real life it's NOT always the husband who is the screw up and jerk! Wives often do a pretty good job themselves and if we show husband being horrible why not wives?
I would a left too.
Ray is the maaaaaan
Nope
@@lang-ed3bkBiologically he is the man in this marriage.

Hi everybody loves Raymond official channel!
Everyone who sees my comments knows I'm very much anti-Ray, but this is one of those rare episodes where I really don't know whose side to take.
Being careless with someone else's time, is like a slap in the face.
Ray's side. She was at fault here. If she knew it would take long to get ready she should have prepped before.
@@WadeAlma And it was her fault for being a perfectionist trying a last curl. She had 3 minutes to spare and
instead of being there on time she decided to let him wait until the last minute. She was in the wrong here!
Obviously she was in the wrong. That's the joke. She's in the wrong but Ray has to apologize because he's the weak one. So we laugh at him, but it evens out as his actor is the highest paid one on the show.
Sorry, but being on time is being on time. Usually this only happens after many warnings.
Ray left because Debra take so long
*took so long
I don't get why she's so pissed, they had a deal that they would leave BY 6:30. Gad she not stopped to do her hair (cause it looked just fine) he wouldn't have left her.
I do the same to my wife - if she makes me wait, I leave without her.
Ouch
Legend! Women respect men that have boundaries and stick to them. They lose respect for push overs.
There was a gentleman I worked with for many years. Never cursed, got riled or nothing. Mister ice water in the veins. I was told of a situation similar to this where his wife was talking with their neighbor at the back fence. He told her to come on because they were going to be late. She didn't respect him enough to cut off the conversation so rather than leaving her he broke off a switch and played it across her back end. He got her attention and she came on. I know that's an extreme way to address the situation but she should have respected her husband enough to hush and come on.
Abuse is never ok.
Sorry what do you mean he broke off a switch?
@@teapottanuki5841 it's an old term used when disipline had come to a point where children would not behave after being verbally warned. The parent would break off a thin branch from a nearby bush and strike them across their backside resulting in a little unpleasant sting. The gentleman I spoke of is the most mild mannered person I know. She showed disrespectful behavior to her husband in front of the neighbor which could be very embarrassing. So it ended up embarrassing her. It's all a two way street.
@mikehiers3332 you're comparing apples to oranges and you're justifying physical assault for not finishing a conversation in an instant? What would've happened to her if she just abruptly cut off the neighbor? He can also then whip her because she abruptly cut off a conversation and then she's rude and making him look bad for disrespecting the neighbor?
Sir, let me remind you that women are people and not possessions to be controlled and vice versa. Your neighbor may be outwardly mild mannered but if he considered that acceptable, I very highly doubt that he's as mild mannered as you say behind closed doors. Most abusers and narcissists behave that way.
Yeah, the curling iron thing is on Debra. People are on time when they want to be, and aren't when they don't care or have garbage time management skills, and both those things seemed to apply to Debra in this scene.
I’m like Ray when I was little I worry that I might be late for school or the movies and when Ray hurry up Debra that’s what my mum says sometimes and I’ll say to her don’t rush me!⏰⌚️🕰️👉🏻👈🏻
He should’ve left because there was nothing wrong with her hair. Don’t blame Ray.
I say AIS to this day
After reading so many comments on these clips, I have to ask the question, do you people realise this was just a TV show with actors, who had learned a script? And it was recorded in a studio with a set to resemble a house. And that 'Raymond' and 'Debra' are not married in real life etc etc???
Oh wow, really? Wow, everyone, this guy cracked the code! What's it like having figured out the secret that nobody else has? Has Mensa called you yet?
Damn she looked good though
Maybe she should have been ready an hour in advance so if her damn curling iron malfunctioned she'd have time to fix it. What did you expect. All the adults are screwed up. Even Amy is teetering on the fence.
This is why you don't get married pahaha
