Total visual immersion - Philips 55PUS7805 TV Review

  • Majority of people looking for their new TV usually have a fairly simple list of demands - decent image and sound quality, good display of cable programs, and that the TV is visible from any part of the room, plus of course, that it does not cost too much.
    Philips PUS7805 seems to be tailored for those kind of users, but with an addition of pretty impressive Ambilight feature, which is something that makes this model a very interesting choice in its class.

    An excellent review and TV. I brought this tv at the end of February 2021 and I like it. A definite upgrade from a Samsung ku6000.

    Here on the good websites they say 2020 model 43 inch has 10ms response time normal mode. Is that correct?

    Great review, have you tested the 43PUS7505 model ? I bought it and I just realized it has an IPS panel instead of a VA, is the image quality still good ? How does it looks on a dark room ?

    • @AmazikGezk
      @AmazikGezk 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      How does it compared to the PUS7805 ?

    • @BenchHouse
      @BenchHouse  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We tested that exact 43" model, and it was one of the best smaller sized TV's, with really high image quality. It won't look ideal in a dark room due to IPS and a lack of local dimming, but it's good for what it is, and panel quality may be even higher than on VA models in that class. 7805 should be similar to 7505, but with Ambilight added, and depending on the size, both may come as IPS or VA.

      U7QF is the most advanced of these models in terms of display quality, though other two models do have better processing.

    • @BenchHouse
      @BenchHouse  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not really, the sides are fine for a proper experience, though you can add some Philips Hue bulbs and position them below or anywhere in the room.

    Philips 7805 or 8505? In Germany the 8505 costs 120 euro more, is it worth to pay more?

    • @BenchHouse
      @BenchHouse  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      8505 is Android, so it does offer more options. It's worth the extra 120€

    Hi. Does the 58" model have VA panel? And it is direct led, edge led or FALD? Best regards from Portugal.

    • @BenchHouse
      @BenchHouse  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately, they do not disclose any details, so there's no way of knowing the panel type without seeing it in the store and checking the viewing angles. There's no FALD for sure, only a global brightness control, but it could be both Edge LED or Direct LED.

    Ill say most people do not have to be too picky, some features many look for will only be useful that one occasion when... Compared to the stress of researching watching too many videos and being overly indecisive. What matters is quality, size, functionality. Most tv serve majority of customers so if you do not have some eye problems then most budget Tv may be ok for you TCL, Hisense, or Philips

    I had a Philips TV, but within 4 years it malfunctioned twice, the first time it was fixed by the Philips company, and its malfunction was Power Supply, and the second time it malfunctioned in the LED, so I had to throw it away. Bad experience with Philips

    • @BenchHouse

      Hisense will give you a better contrast, while Philips has better viewing angles and ambilight. Both are good though in that price range.

    I've purchased this tv a year ago, and i been very disappointed. That's the worse tv i bought in all my life, my older tv has a better picture quality. Black levels are infimous, inconsistent, and not have enough brightness to reproduce correctly a 4k HDR, i advise you to not wasting your money buying this crap, or a Philips appareil in general.
    PS forgive my bad English, thank you.
