  • Need to know how to get a Vietnam tourist visa? What kind you need, and where to get it from? In this guide I go over the available tourist visa options, as well as the 3 ways to get one, and their pros and cons.
    0:00:41 - Before you apply
    0:03:14 - E-visa
    0:04:26 - Embassy visa
    0:06:53 - Visa on Arrival (VoA)
    Vietnam's E-visa website: evisa.xuatnhap...
    Vietnam's embassy visa online order form (Washington DC embassy): visa.vietnamemb...
    CORRECTION: I mention in the video that you staple an embassy visa (loose-leaf visa) into your passport. THIS IS INCORRECT. The Vietnam Embassy informed me that you present it with you passport, but do not attach it.

    Paying the higher price at the embassy is way better than being scammed. Thanks for the vid. 🙏🏼

    Awesome video. Thank you for sharing!! Do you have any videos about extentions once you are living there and I had heard they are not offering anything but 30 days now??

      That does sound similar to what I've been hearing, but now right now due to COVID the situation is pretty fluid and it's likely that requirements and restrictions will continue to change over the next months.

    Currently the one year business visas for US citizens has no requirement to leave during the visa term. I haven't heard anything that would change that.

    You know u don’t have to do border runs every 30 day. There is a visa department in Vietnam major city, that can stamp it for you for $10 usd.

    i might be wrong. But I think you'll get a lot of views if you do a reverse video. Show Vietnamese how to get a tourist Visa in the US (also discussing how complicated the process could be). You'll be the 1st to make that kind of video for Vietnamese. Maybe you have Vietnamese friend that would love chill in the States with you?

    I’m planning on traveling to vietnam this winter and I was wondering what type of visa would I need if I’m traveling/flying to different places in the country. For instance from HCM to Hanoi or to Phu Quoc and other places. Would that still count as single entry?

    • @JoeSpinstheGlobe
      @JoeSpinstheGlobe  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, a single entry is still fine. As long as you are only flying between domestic locations (cities within Vietnam), any visa is valid as long it's not expired. You don't pass through immigration control for these flights.

    Hello. Hopefully you can answer my question. (The US Embassy doesn't seem to have a clue). I have a one year VISA beginning in Feb. this year. It requires me to leave and re-enter every 90 days. But due to the Corona virus, travel restrictions are now in place. Plus I hear VN has stopped allowing foreigners in as of March. What do I do? Sometimes I wonder if I should just stay put and pay the fine or whatever. But I don't want to do that. If I was able to leave and re-enter would I need a new form or anything?

    • @steventaylor8785
      @steventaylor8785 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also, I wrote the VN Embassy but haven't receive an answer back. I'm not sure they understand my question. Thanks in advance!

    • @JoeSpinstheGlobe
      @JoeSpinstheGlobe  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a really tough spot. I'm no expert beyond what's in the video, and if the embassies haven't been able to help then I certainly don't have a clue. Obviously it's an exceptional situation. I did hear rumors from friends about overstay waivers but i have no idea if they implemented those.

      @@JoeSpinstheGlobe Hello again. One more question if you don't mind. You mentioned "waiver". Do you have any information on that from your friends? Like where to go to get one, etc.

    Tourist visa do they still have 90 day or it's going to be all 30 day now?

    • @JoeSpinstheGlobe
      @JoeSpinstheGlobe  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you follow the link in the description for the DC embassy for Vietnam, they still have the 90 day option available on the order form. I'm unaware of anything saying they wouldn't grant it or honor it, but I have not fully researched this topic in a while.

    • @JoeSpinstheGlobe
      @JoeSpinstheGlobe  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      They're probably set back due to Tet, the lunar New Year. It started on the 25th and everyone basically takes a holiday for a week. I'd keep trying to contact them and hope for the best, I feel like odds are pretty good you'll get it in time. If not then you can always try VoA.

      @orfeaskommatas146 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JoeSpinstheGlobe Wow, first of all thank you so much for the fast reply ;)) Well yeah, that`s a solid guess. Although, my last option is a visa from my embassy(i live in Greece) witch i have to apply today if i want to be on time(or pay even more and get it in 1 day,standard is 4 days). I`m very anxious about it still...If i go now and apply for a visa in the embassy i might end up with 2 visas and -70$ euros... It`s annoying ;p

    • @orfeaskommatas146
      @orfeaskommatas146 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah if you have the embassy option and can spare the money, i would do that. 70 euros is your price of assurance then
