Sandeep Sir, this video gives the motivation to read and understand NBC-2016 (Part 4- Fire & Life Safety). You explained the basis and background of the code in the most interesting manner. Please upload more of your recordings. I wish to see more of it and learn from you.
thank you for this video i hope the higher officers in fire and rescue dept of Kerala watch this, some comments they provide on site noc/fire plan gives an impression that they dont even know what a fire exit is meant for.
Very nice and great explanation sir. Please make a similar video on Basements and Upper floors Lift lobby, Stairwell and Lift well pressurization system.
Very detailed and comprehensive presentation Mr. Sandeep. Appreciable. A couple of questions are haunting me since a long time. Why there is separate pump for Hydrant and Sprinkler in almost all of Indian fire codes while codes & standards in entire world (NFPA / IBC / IFC / FM /VDS Etc) has 'Main Pump' and 'Standby Pump' only? Why there is no Combined Sprinkler & Standpipe System concept in India? Why can't we have a single pump that can feed Sprinkler Demand + Hydrant with one common System Riser (of course, there is one clause in NBC where we can have sprinklers on hydrant line but there is limitation)? I see some schematics in Indian codes that show separate lines for external hydrant, internal hydrant and sprinkler system from one common pump discharge manifold! I did not get the logic, why separate lines? Am I missing some thing between the lines while reading codes!?
Tenability during a fire can be better explained. It is not the same thing as tenable to conduct business, it is tenable for egress. Tenability during fire is the curx of life safety !
Very good presentation sir and valuable information.
