73 pts with 76 % . Close to triple Double. With an impact on the game of over 100 points, playing away and against a mid-table team, it's one of the most important and outstanding performances in NBA history, and he's only 24. For instance, Embiid, at 30, is having a great season at the peak of his career, but his 70-point game had many free throws, was at home, and against the worst team in the West. What happened last season? Embiid was MVP, considered a steal as Jokic was the true deserving candidate. What will happen this year? Embiid deserves the MVP so far, but if Doncic continues like this, it won't be a theft; he'll deserve the MVP, just like Wemby for ROY, despite their teams having worse records than Philadelphia or Oklahoma.

0:05 is ridiculous. People talking about how defenders don't want to touch him, I don't think it's that at all: I think he just slows the game down at will in such a way that defenders can't react properly. Completely takes them out of their comfort zone. It's like when you learn a fast riff on guitar, then try to slow it right down to show someone how to play it, and realise your muscle memory is all wrong and you keep missing notes or playing a weird tempo.

I don't know if you watched the game but there's no rational argument for saying there was no defense played on Luka this game. Guys were doing everything they possibly could and it didn't matter. Overall year scoring is up but a lot of it is just how efficient offenses are. Sure you can change a rule or two to allow what rightfully are fouls to be considered "defense" but that doesn't change the fact analytics have completely revolutionized the game's offensive potency. Defense needs to adapt next to keep up, they're lagging behind the curve compared to the offense.

If you watch every single bucket he got you can argue 8 of those points were easy ones, the rest was all defended well

In skills and size, Doncic has the profile of a near-perfect NBA offensive player and perfection might just be a few percentage points of long-range accuracy away. With a 6-foot-7 frame, the vision of an owl and a magician's sleight of hand, Doncic can demoralize a defense any which way from any spot on the floor.

Behind the back pass doesn't mean any pass to someone behind you. It's also very telling that not a single defense play for the mavs was mentioned. Just goes to show that defense is non-existent these days. Just more of the curry era; No defense, all offense.

It's very simple why players are scoring 70 points within the same week. It's because of rule change to the defense , no hand checking anymore. ITS GETTING TO THE POINT YOU CANT EVEN TOUCH A OFFENSIVE PLAYER ANYMORE.
