Excellent stuff as always Luke. I'll definitely have a go at this. I seem to process other peoples data more than my own these days but really enjoy it.
Great stuff as always Luke. It's been cloudy here in Minnesota, USA, for a couple weeks now, so all I've been doing is reprocessing old data. Looks like it's time for M33! Cheers and clear skies. Aaron
Luke, you have a gift!! Adam Block do not have it as well as many others making tutorials. You distill the Pixinsight experience into a highly usable experience, with great results. I'm screwed if your videos ever get deleted on TH-cam 😅
Damn, Luke. This is almost exactly what I do. I tend to use NXT after I stretch. Have noted some artifacts if I do it earlier. I also like SetiAstro’s Statistical Stretch. Thanks for the hint about masking the galaxy. I haven’t been doing that. Finally, my wife asked me about how you and the family are doing. Cheers.
Hey Jack! We're doing well my friend, it's been a big period of adjustment for us all of course, but that's true for every new parent I guess!! :-D hope you and your wife are doing well! Clear skies my friend
oh man! Did i need this one! I have issues processing M33. Plus my data is kinda rubbish lol. I shot on a new filter and dont think my settings were really dialed in and I didn't have enough frames because I was trying 5min exposures. Only got 2 hours.
Hey Luke, Im new to Pix, and im trying to download and use the tools you have but I think I have a error trying to load them as I dont have blurx. Is there a way to add your tools without Blur? BTW - your videos are amazing.
Thank you so much and I'm sorry about the late reply!! You can open the tools, and select + delete the unnecessary tools, then drag a box over all the rest of the ones you want to keep and save the icon set with the right-click menu :-) hope that helps!!
Nice tutorial. I learned a few new things! Thanks Luke. Do you still use Star Reduction to create a starless image of galaxies/nebulae? I find it handy so that my playing around with the DSO does not impact my stars. Dr B from Manitoba, Canada 🇨🇦
Hi Luke, This looks a great way to process data but I couldn't find the repository for the tools from Bill Blanshan (HT Stretch and Unlinked RGB) - all I got on your Google drive was the icon files. Also for some reason those don't load in my PI Workspace??
Didn’t hear what filter or camera was used on the stack you were working with? Obviously the hydrogen is coming through well, so I am assuming an OSC with a dual narrowband filter of some description?
@@lukomatico Thanks for the info - very impressed with how the hydrogen has come through for you. I did not get nearly such good results with my own OSC and IR cut! How many hours of data do you have?
Great processing tutorial video. When I use the spcc colour correction . I can’t get it to work as it reports no catalog selected and only has one selected . Any ideas ?
Cool! I followed along with some of my own data from 2021. Great result! Thanks Luke, I really enjoy your Tutorials. IG tagged!

Glad to hear it will be a bit of fun for you Pete mate! I hope you are doing well by the way! :-)
Amazing result, Luke! I love M33 and I like your technique of increasing the red.

Good stuff! Thanks for watching mate :-D

Darn that's high praise!! - Thank you so much indeed my friend :-)
Still a novice in PI so this helps a lot! Thank you

Hi Luke great video as always keep up the good work mate
How is your little boy doing
Thanks so much matey!
He's doing great by the way, feeling very lucky to have him! :-) clear skies buddy!
Another great tutorial Luke thanks for sharing your knowledge

Perfect timing. My next target. I'm going F3 600mm. Then maybe a crop and upscale
Great stuff mate, hope you're all well?
Clear skies
Doing ok mate thanks!! Getting used to things still haha :-D hope you are well too!
Very nice tutorial on processing galaxies with a OSC. Curios about which, if any, filters you used.
Thanks mate! No filters used other than just the standard UV/ir cut filter :-)
Hi Luke,
Once again, "Challenge accepted".
I will try to capture RGB data from the Heavenly Backyard.
I love these challenges you provide.

So great to hear that Pat!! I look forward to seeing your result :-D clear skies my friend!!

@@lukomatico oh fabulous thanks. I will have a try later.

Hey Dr. B! I do indeed remove stars still, but not for every processing job these days - mainly just for nebula work!
Cheers :-)

Sorted! Turns out my icon workspace was too narrow. Just needed to right click in the workspace and hit arrange icons.
So glad you've got to the bottom of this mate, - my apologies I've not seen this comment sooner too.
Happy processing!! :-)
@@lukomatico No worries Luke. I imagine you have your hand s full at the moment! Its fun to solve these problems - be boring if if it was too easy!

Actually you can do this with just RGB data. You can add Ha later on, but a lot of the color is already there.
This is from an edge HD 11, 0.7x reducer, full-frame OSC camera (player one Zeus) and a UV/ir cut filter - taken from bortle 7 skies.
Cheers!

Great job! any chance to see the same elaboration using free software like Siril and Graxpert? Greetings from Rome
I can try that at some point mate!

What setup was used to photography the galaxy?

EdgeHD 11, 0.7x reducer, full-frame osc camera :-) no filters.
Hey Luke , did I miss it ??? Are you a dad yet ?????
Yes indeed mate! He's 2 weeks old now :-) cheers!! ❤️
@lukomatico mazel tov... My BD was the 13th... When was he born ??
Thanks Steve mate!! :-D he was born on the 10th!
