Justice for Jamie and jail for Beth. She killed Jamie who already asked her forgiveness for what happened when they were YOUNG but still it wasn't enough for her?? And John who never loved Jamie despite all he was doing to please him. Why adopt him then?? John and Beth turned Jamie into how he is.

Well Taylor I think, especially if you’re planning another season, this was an interesting and revealing episode. I liked the last three episodes especially the last one. Hopefully we will get more episodes in the future, you sure have created some “ open issues “ . I also would like to see a timeline continuation from 1883, that particular series had great acting and storylines!
This show was epic through mid-season 4. Then , it started leveling out. But, season 5 was awful especially the second half. The storyline/writing was really bad. I felt bad for the cast. I feel they gave a great effort to give the fans a good show. But, the storyline really did look like it was jotted down on the back of a napkin. For me, it was almost as bad as the series finale of SOA. So, disappointed.
A 3 or a C in your rating system. The disconnect in scripts, Sheridan constantly inserting himself, focusing too much of taking down the ranch, the Summer thing and once again Beth gets her face smashed in. Too much of that kind of scene again. I was disappointed, but after 2 years, I really didn't care. Beth, the kid relationship just left hanging "You get to sleep in." Really. Glad it's over. Not getting super hopeful on 1923 Sheridan had too much on his plate with other shows and that came across. It's like he gets bored and starts writing another prequel or a completely different show.
I give Season 5 a B. I quite enjoyed the scenes in part 1 of going out in the field or up the mountains with the herd. The part 2 "murder mystery" had aspects to it that were quite interesting. Seeing Kayce step up was good. But overall, there were so many moneymaking plans that Beth came up with that were just forgotten and never employed. Much was just dropped. I do appreciate you folks talking about the scene with Lynette and Clara, where Clara was going to spill the beans about what she knew. I kept waiting for that to happen... So I appreciate your take that when Jaime hears on the news about his relationship with Atwood, that that info supposedly came from Clara. It should have been more overt... The funeral was well done. I figured from S1 that the land would eventually return to the Native Americans, although I thought it would be specifically through Tate somehow. Some of the details were forced a bit to get to the goal, but OK. I remain ambivalent about Jaime's death as the "villain". I would have gone in a different direction with him in the end, but that's all I'll say. The endings for everyone else left them in a fairly good place, and I was thankful for that.
Jaime drives home and does not see the Bentley parked right across the street. He also does not either get a Ring notification, have some sort of camera system set up in the house that would let him know there’s someone inside, have another type of security system, or have a security guard near him after Beth said she would murder him. After Jaime closes the front door, he doesn’t even lock the deadbolt. It’s a good thing the detective and the several officers didn’t realize that the big hole in the wall when Rip slammed him into it wasn’t from 110-pound Beth slamming Jaime’s shoulder into it with all that force. It’s also fortunate Rip didn’t leave a partial footprint in all that blood in the area. It is also lucky no one that saw Rip and Lloyd take off like a bat out of hell after Ryan said his gooodbyes get asked anything by the police. Also, I guess no one on the street caught anything about a giant Yellowstone truck on camera. Finally, I guess no one thought to follow up with Beth and her husband once the car turns up burned. Overall, I enjoyed the show, but this climax scene ruins any suspension of disbelief and made me laugh out loud. The only thing I found equally absurd with this show was the idea that a company that stands to make billions from someone’s death would not be looked at closely right away when that person appears to commit suicide out of nowhere right after the surveillance cameras go out.
The end ranks up there with Game of thrones for major flops for world loved tv phenomenon. It’s just trash. I’d go so far as saying the ending of Yellowstone killed any interest I had in the prequels and I was SUPER excited for 1923 s2. Everything we watched these characters going back (in show timeline) 7 generations. All the blood, pain, death, and sacrifice for NOTHING!!!
I completely agree! I love 1923 but it almost feels pointless to watch now. As soon a John died, his kids sold out amd left. What was the point of fighting with everything they had to save a ranch that the next generation just gives away.
I enjoyed your takes on Yellowstone, and I, too, gave it a C-. I'm realizing I don't care much for Sheridan. Too many unanswered questions and plots. Lastly what happened to the beloved cook? 😒
I generally dont like getting wrapped up in TV. I only began binge-watching seasons 1 thru 3 becsuse I was down with Covid. Luckily, season 4 came out soon after I finished 3. I was really put off it took 2 years to produce and drag out 5. I eventually realized I didnt really like any of the main characters. Jamies death was unnecessary. Beth has been so full of hate for him. I waa really disgusted in her last scene walking out onto the front porch of her new ranch and seeing her murderous husband working in the field. The look of peace and contentment on her face was disturbing. I cant see a spinoff series on these two. Too much baggage for them both to have a realistic normal life.
I absolutely love Yellowstone..I've watched every marathon of the show..in my opinion it's the best show on TV along with 1883 and 1923..I give the show an A+
Maybe a B, mainly because of Reilly's acting in the last episode. I think Costner messed the whole process up. When I saw 1883 I figured out the end, because that was the only thing the government could accept and sell to someone as powerful as Market Equities.
D- did not like it at all. It was all over the place and the last episode was totally boring and predictable. They were just running around like a chicken with their head cut off after Costner left just throwing what they could at the wall to see what sticks, and nothing stuck.
You telling me that Kayce sat in the back of his father’s killer car and walked away , know what was missing after 150 years of fighting for that land ? Rage ! Some punk just murdered the man himself and nobody did anything about it . Kevin I have to say I think you saw this coming , no wonder you bailed.
The whole point of the story was the Dutton’s keeping the land and the ranch at all costs and they failed. They gave the ranch to one of their enemies to be destroyed. It was a complete failure.
He said he would treat the land as Sacreed When he is talking with Kayce He says Your people and my people are buried in that Land so the graves will remained untouched That was the Point of the MO scene Scolding the kids for messing with the Tombstones and why MO put them Back as they were
The Chief at the funeral said he was his protector now when he laid the ceremonial pouch on the casket. Mo stopped the desecration by the kids as part of that promise that the Duttons protected the land.
and i give pt2 a B-/C+. it didn’t pull me in like past seasons or storylines. nothing happened that was super climactic. like the beck brothers storyline, or the even that first episode with the shoot out and death of lee and monica’s brother. nothing crazy happened.
Spoiler Alert: I give season 5 an F-. Don't think I've ever been as disappointed in a series before. The stark contrast between the first couple of seasons and the fifth is just mind numbing. That whole Jamie/beth beef came to an end with a damn fist fight in his kitchen after which she stabs him with the help of Rip. I was hoping for a grand scheme of some kind, but no. The incredibly stupid way the John Dutton situation was "solved" is another huge bummer. At first I thought they tried a different approach, what with the entire situation already being over as that episode starts, but then I find out that Costner left the series, which is just fascinatingly bizarre. So they wrapped the whole thing up with a thoroughly disappointing second half of a season that could have and would have been so much more under different circumstances. Such a humongous waste of time, having sat through all those episodes only to wish i never tried it in the first place.
The last season was awful. The writers made every effort to make the Duttons into the heroes of the story -- especially John Dutton-- and they shouldn't have. Are we supposed to forget all the awful, despicable things he did as a father? And forget all the murder and corruption the Duttons committed all for the sake of their land? Are we to forget that John TURNED Jamie into what he became. Jamie did everything to please his father - including going into politics when he didn't even want to. But it was never good enough and John never loved him. Jamie did wrong by bringing Beth to that clinic, but let's not forget how TERRIFIED both of them were of what their father would do finding out Beth was pregnant. Jamie was a teenager himself. Beth was evil incarnate. She made Jamie's life a living hell and is he not supposed to retaliate? Is he supposed to lay down and die? Beth basically forced him to kill that reporter and his birth father. I mean, this show has NO redeeming characters except Kacey. The only thing I'm happy about is how Kacey's story ended. His last words to his father were "I forgive you" and that makes total sense.
Even though the original Yellowstone series has wrapped up, the franchise just keeps expanding, making the Dutton family saga even more intricate. By the way, have you heard about Radiant Reservation? It's been generating a lot of buzz lately.
Yes, I’ve heard about Radiant Reservation! It’s this service where you can actually book reservations to meet celebrities, right? It sounds almost too good to be true, but it’s such an incredible way for fans to interact with their favorite stars on a deeper, more personal level.
Absolutely! It’s like creating a bridge between celebrities and their fans in a way that wasn’t possible before. The technology behind it is so smooth, too-it's tailored to make the whole experience feel uniquely yours. Just think about getting to chat with someone like Rip, or even Beth, that tough-as-nails character. It’d be amazing to see them outside of the show’s storyline and understand what makes them tick.
Exactly. Beth’s intensity would probably come across even stronger in person, right? She's bold and unapologetic on-screen, but I imagine there’s a whole new side to her when she's not in character. I love how accessible Radiant Reservation makes it. In the past, meeting a celebrity always felt like a matter of luck-being in the right place at the right time. But now, you can make it happen, and it feels so much more intentional and meaningful.
That’s exactly what excites me the most. It would be fascinating to see how the actors show their true selves versus their on-screen personas. With someone like Beth, who’s such a powerhouse, it’d be wild to witness how she balances her real personality with her character. Radiant Reservation offers incredible experiences-backstage passes, private dinners, even exclusive one-on-one meetups. It’s perfect for superfans who want to make that unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime connection.
Worst! I loved every episode up until the finale. What a dumb way to end the show. Beth will end up in jail(the detective is already suspicious having seen where Rip threw Jamie into the wall). Once the police look at the cell phone data and neighborhood door cameras they will tie Rip to the scene. They will also likely track him to the train station and where they left Jamie's car(unless he and Lloyd ditched their phones). Also, estate tax is based on the value at death, not what you sell it for. The IRS will come for the billions owed and Kayce and Monica will be bankrupted. But thankfully for dumb Kayce, the sale to the tribe will be reversed in court anyway as Montana will challenge it. You can't sell land to avoid eminent domain, which has apparently already been initiated. So in the end the state will condemn the ranch, pay Kayce market value for it and he will be a billionaire even after paying estate taxes. The state will sell pieces of the ranch and the airport, resort, and housing and other developments will occur. And it all could have been avoided if John Dutton had done proper estate planning.
B-...i was disappointed in there not being a big battle with the reservation and Rainwater at the end. Thought it was a huge miss oppurtunity. Beth felt more like a Marvel superhero. She walks out of an exploding building, sits down, and smokes a cigarette. Gets raped and smokes a cigarette. Kills Jamie and smokes a cigarette. Lol wtf! Was smoking her superpower? What happened to the little boy at the side of the road that John Dutton was helping his Mom and him out when John got shot? The Summer side show was a joke. Really, she ends up living at the ranchl. Lol and Beth forgot about her. Lol Just lowered my grade to a C-
Season 5 part 1 was fine but part 2 was botched. I give it part 1 a C, part 2, a D. Part 2 was full of unanswered plot elements, wasted airtime (looking at you on a horse Taylor Sheridan) and when it did get to tying up plotlines... PREDICTABLE. If the thing in part 2 that I got most excited about was Elsa's epilogue near the end... that's pretty bad
I give it a B. I was satisfied with the ultimate outcome, and the finale was good, but it could've had alot less filler and a few more plot holes tied up
Season 5 part two, very sad, one dimensional, zero calories and the worst writing of the entire series, more like a first year film students first draft in film school. How fast were you writing this? Two years to come up with this? What dreck!!! Inexcusable because you clearly are a great writer, but you stopped caring!!!. Clearly if you would have given Kevin Costners project respect and consideration and collaborated with him, like he did with you, he would have stuck with you and it would have been a trifecta win for everyone, you, Kevin and the fans. A cautionary lesson on overextending oneself. If you're going to delegate find people that are better than you not worse..
Spoiler alert: Not everyone in this video agrees! What letter grade would you give Yellowstone Season 5 in its entirety?

Yes, and that knife belong to Spencer as well. I think we’ll see that knife several times if we get to see more prequels.

Gator never got his storyline wrapped up. I think he's the only one.
Very far from the best ending, but not the worst, only because Lost exists
I absolutely love Yellowstone..I've watched every marathon of the show..in my opinion it's the best show on TV along with 1883 and 1923..I give the show an A+
They turned Jamie from this polarizing character into a complete villain
This season had to much filler and not enough story content. They could have wrapped this up succinctly in 4 decent episodes, sans TS’s ego riding.
The tearing down of the Yellowstone Ranch was shitty move on the Indians part !!!!!
I’m still waiting to see who stole Tate’s dinosaur bones.
Same.
Maybe a B, mainly because of Reilly's acting in the last episode. I think Costner messed the whole process up. When I saw 1883 I figured out the end, because that was the only thing the government could accept and sell to someone as powerful as Market Equities.
Colby died because they needed Teeter’s character popularity for the upcoming 6666 show. Period.
If there's a spin off of beth and rip, they should name it, "the rise of beth and rip: natural born killers part 2".
Perfect assessment
Atwood was suppose to kill Beth. Continuity is a real problem.
Absolute garbage after waiting all this time. Sheridan is a toolbox.
The whole point of the story was the Dutton’s keeping the land and the ranch at all costs and they failed. They gave the ranch to one of their enemies to be destroyed. It was a complete failure.
Jamie was killed in broad daylight. Didn’t someone see Rip and Lloyd carrying the body to the truck?
“ my people” I thought the Northwestern tribal people and the Indians of the north east were different tribes?
When did Rainwater promise to respect the graves? I don’t remember that. Or is it one of the various unanswered questions……
Rainwater never did promise that. That was Mo that enforced it.
Anticlimactic and disappointing for sure. C-
i watched season 5 pt2 yellowstone the same exact way - early af on mondays after paying on amazon lol
and i give pt2 a B-/C+. it didn’t pull me in like past seasons or storylines. nothing happened that was super climactic. like the beck brothers storyline, or the even that first episode with the shoot out and death of lee and monica’s brother. nothing crazy happened.
Sheridan did Jamie dirty.
Fantastic ending. Masterpiece 👏👏
It was better than the ending of The Sopranos.
C-plus
Well it certainly wasnt a great ending
No wonder Costner left...
Great
Great series finale! It was the perfect mix of heartfelt and thrill!
This is the only tv show that i despise all the protagonists.
I'm giving season 5. 😢 an A❤
If Costner was never in the show, it would have never lasted. Costner was the show. The last season was shockingly bad. It's worse than GOT bad.
I think it was a great ending.
I give Season 5 an overall grade of C-
D at best to much plot armor and not very realistic everything wrapped up way to easy could have been done in 2-3 episodes
F for sure . Horrible
I give it a B. I was satisfied with the ultimate outcome, and the finale was good, but it could've had alot less filler and a few more plot holes tied up
As much hype as there was about Yellowstone, I wasn't impressed. At all.
AS much as I love coming to this channel and viewing news of country stars etc....this is turning into a YELOWSTONE PAGE!! 😒
@tasteofcountry anything on Lloyds name change??
If you give this anything better than a C- you’re a bot
F it is .
B+ as a series ending. Not Justified quality. THat was the GOAT. BUt it was good, not great.
Lost intrest.after season 4
Season 5 part two, very sad,
one dimensional, zero calories and the worst writing of the entire series, more like a first year film students first draft in film school.
The entire season was actual dog shit no matterhow you try to spin it or make excuses
