    Wow!! That Doug is an accomplished artist/craftsman! I really am enjoying your videos…so much that I haven’t done anything on all the N gauge I was given this year. It’s HOT and miserable down on Mississippi Gulf coast so will start some layout work when cool weather comes🎉🙏🏼😬

    Nice one 👍 just got my new DMU Class 110 metro train from hobby shop in Christchurch this morning running back and forth end to end station platforms about 8meters in length so happy days those boards I got from the hardware store down the road last month for next to nothing cheers from your kiwi mate

    Amazing..I didn't think tomix trains ran on European power supply I observed on an eBay ad for their controller. glad they run and yes they are brilliant runners, not as good as Kato but they are truly second best. Smashing layout yet again keeping the hobby alive.😮

      There are a lot of myths about N gauge power, we just use a standard 12v PWM controller which will run N HO and O no worries

    Great inspiration! I want to do something fairly small, with Kato N scale track, just to make a fairly simple layout with an Inglenook and such along with a continuous run ... that way I can see if N will work for me or if I must stick to HO. Thanks for sharing this great little layout!

    I will have to test my J94 over points, i posted a video yesterday on instagram showing how well it works, but i havent run it over points yet... i dont plan on shunting N, so maybe it wont matter to much to me...saving the shunting to 00, but will check that for sure, thanks for the heads up! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

    Scrapped the OO9 element of my otherwise OO layout as it was proving too unreliable, and difficult to access. But it's all safe in a box and, even brand new, a Kato starter track set is very affordable, so it looks like it'll live again as a stand alone layout. Thanks for the inspiration. Fantastic girder bridge too Doug. Cheers

    You made me get out my box of Kato track, the smallest curves I have are 216, local shops don't seem to have smaller . Might have to use Peco track or go a bit bigger. Inspiring me closer to making a layout.

    A layout small enough to plonk in the kitchen... with standing stones (brilliant idea!) village, station, goods depot, cute stream... amazing job! I just worry a little about getting my car stuck on the crossing. Not that the barriers are ever raised...

    Wow, this is a beautiful, great classic mini layout. It's the perfect shunting, running ànd exposition layout. Great job! You make me getting convinced I have made the wrong choice working with OO/H0...

    Layout has come along is a massive way, loving the look and that mini Stonehenge is brilliant! My first Kato train as the Pocket line train (the same one as yours…even the colour!), and it still performs beautifully. N is so versatile, affordable and compact. That suspension bridge is insane! Fantastic vid and look forward to seeing future updates.

  • @TheJpec361
    @TheJpec361 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Outstanding! Shows all the advantages of the micro. You've got the ability to run a loop or just do some shunting if you feel like it. Those trees from eBay are a good way to add trees to a layout and I've made some look better with a bit of water putty, some spray paint and a little ground foam. Congratulations on another winner.

    Looks like you have found a place on your journey - ie: using N gauge to be small, finding reliable running in Kato/Tomix even over points, finding small radius track to enable continuous running, using C J Freezer type plans to have Trainset model railways that give you operation features and scenery, Freelance, still in a budget bracket new, still able to do a bit of scratch build....Think you've been looking for this for a while . The layout looks great..spent loots of time looking getting inspiration on your channel from the Trainset Layouts and shunting layouts. All the best

    Hey Mike, this layout is coming along very nicely! I was considering N gauge for UK outline but reviews online show that the locomotives are very hit and miss when it comes to quality. So I just decided to build a layout with my 00 collection. Space was an issue while I was working around my country but now I'm back home and I have a whole loft to use! Nothing to ambitious planned, just your typical 8x4 board and a small modular expansion for a reverse loop and a loco shed and turntable. The layout would have been also great without the expansion, but for operations and fun having a small yard to flip your locos the way you like adds a lot of interest! I'll keep you updated on the progress whenever you post

    Greetings from Vancouver Island! Mike I was very impressed with both the utility and the scenery on this layout. It really is the whole package. Kudos to Doug on that suspension bridge it's top shelf! I recently purchased the compact Kato track set and just received the Kato V3 switching set so I am good to go. I also have the steeple cab pocket line as well as the My Tram and they are very smooth runners. If you are able could you supply the link to that lovely Tomix engine? It's just what I am looking for.
    Also, regarding the backdrop discussion, have you considered insetting a couple of magnets in the frame on both sides, then have one backscene with thin metal plates on the bottom so you can pop it off and re-attach on either side depending on your viewing angle? Just a thought.
    Keep up the good work!
