As always, every time you stick a video up, there is something to learn. That is why I truly enjoy watching your videos, you explode the myth that you have to pay lot of hard earned £ to enjoy playing trains. Keep up the good work, it’s very much appreciated by this old fool.
You need to show us how your going to carry this layout on your motorcycle. LOL!! Love your layout; simple and beautiful. Your backdrop is very effective with the layout. Good luck!
Another excellent layout, Mike. I've found with ballasting, that less is more, especially on a branch line. A trick I picked up for ballasting points is to set them on a piece of packing or similar sticky tape sticky side up and ballast them before you put them in place, trimming around the edges of the ties. If the tape interferes with the throw of the points, you can trim that bit away. Lovely thing about Peco is with the detail around the points you can't see if there's any ballast there anyway. I love those Gaugemaster backscenes. Unfortunately, the local vendor who dealt solely in British railway items I used to visit at the local shows has taken retirement and shut his business.
It really is amazing how a simple small layout can bring so much operating potential. You don't need a marshalling yard with multiple kickback sidings in order to have fun shunting.
i love your layouts. I had never considered doing one that size until I saw yours. Now I'm slowly acquiring turnouts so I can. Thank you sir for the inspiration.
Well done Mike, this looks great and has a prototypical feel to it. Meanwhile poor Mrs Budget has been sent to the local tip shop to hoover-up secondhand track for your project 😮 As regards transport to exhibitions I think that you could go the way of Wallace & Gromit (or George & Mildred!) and get a sidecar for your motorbike. With a little ingenuity the layout could easily run off of your motorbike battery via a couple of long leads. Whaddya think?😊 Thanks for sharing and best wishes to you, Dudley
@@daviemaclean61 would be funny though. Many years ago I used to sell equestrian gifts. One of my samples was a 4ft long plush cuddly horse. I used to sit it on the front passenger seat with a seat belt on and it's head looking out. I could then unobserved wave it's leg. I used to get some great looks in stationary traffic on the M25 lol
Again a great idea and simple and space saving, the no fiddle yard is an idea that I have not thought about. I am thinking of a US layout similar just a shunting yard. Again keep up the good wor.
Lovely, as always. I do ballasting on my layouts because it helps me switch my brain off after a busy day. The glue does get in the wrong places, though, so this negates the calming effect 🤔. 2nd radius helps with coupling too .
Your more recent small layouts have given me hope for my 13'x41' loop layout I'm making right now. Using a mix of Kato unitrack and random bits of n scale track I had. Will be running both n scale and 009 on it. With 6' radius curves I'm going to only be able to run small train, but I'd rather run small locos than no locos haha. Keep making vids!
Love the layout and the simple concepts. Looking behind the layout, I wonder if the bracing could be used as cupboards for the rolling stock while transporting. It would make it look more finished too. What do you think?
As always, looks great, the Gaugemaster photo backscene works really well. Any further updates coming out soon on the recent 2 level layout you were working on, the one based on the Cyril Freezer track plan? Thanks for the videos & the ideas. Ride safe when out & about on the bike.
I tend to use Kato unitrack and normally add ballast for a more realistic look. Nice that I have a lot of fine grade sitting on the shelf - no additional cost. Most of my shelf layouts have 40’ wagons on them and the curve with a long enough head shunt allows me to add one extra wagon to the mix. I’ve never purchased or painted a back scene. I’ll give Gauge Masters a look. And again, nice video presentation of your concept.
What we need to see next on a layout is a chap on his motorbike with a super-tiny model strapped across it! Enjoyed today’s update. Thanks

Thank you Mike for sharing another great looking layout. The medium radius points and ballast make this layout look really good.

Always chill these videos to listen to in background :)
Thanks for the video Mike, love the back scene, the ballasting and grass looks very good!!😎🚂🚃🚃🚃🇬🇧

I'm hoping to do a video showing the operating potential once it's finished

It only needs two which is the beauty of an inglenook
I love these Inglewood scenes 👍🏼
Thanks for sharing and inspiring 🫡
Thanks
Always interesting and informative. Excellent channel.
Thanks much appreciated
Have to say, this looks good! Those extra details, ballest, track paint etc, just lifts this to the next level 😊 Good job!

Great idea but it's only a slow 125 so a sidecar would bring it to a standstill lol
What a smart layout, the setup and the back scenery is brilliant, great work so far.
Thanks
Super beautiful 🤩 Very good ballasted and weathered rails!
Thank you very much!
Looks great Mike as they always do.I have been on the TrainTrax website looking at an American starter set.I hear great things about Kato☺️👍
Kato are great. Smooth reliable quiet runners at good prices compared to UK outline
Traintrax are good prices and great service
Very neat little layout. I can just imagine the look on the face of the driver behind you as you transport it down the street! Cheers ;-)
It's only slightly longer than my panniers are wide, and will just look like a large box once the other two sides are on lol
@@BudgetModelRailways A loco running on a shuttle off a battery would mesmerise them! Ok, it's not very budget, but....

Great like all of your layouts.
Thanks
It looks wonderful and auganic being on a curve rather than all straight lines
Thanks
It's again a simple concept that i really like nice to see what you can build with a small budget
Fantastic, genius at the small layout genre. Brilliant some great ideas. 👌Have a great weekend Sir.
That's very kind thank you

It’s a very good looking layout, the ballast and static grass are very effective.

As you say any trains are better than no trains
Blinking heck Mike! Ballast?
In all seriousness, great work. Looking very good already!
I know, I was inspired by yours and other similar layouts. Just not sure about doing it on my larger double loop layout?
@@BudgetModelRailways no it would be a mission!

Strange right now, I was just thinking no news from Budget...and lo and behold ! Simplicity and budget thru' and thru'.....

I'm hoping to do an update on that one soon now the top layer is on and track down. Bike is currently off the road waiting for a spare part😭
@@BudgetModelRailways Cool, look forward to seeing that. Hope the bike is sorted & back on the road soon. 🙂
Nice work! I wonder if your controller will overheat given how you've covered it up with the foam?
We have never had any heat issues. Some power adaptors generate heat but not the controller
Mike, your "motor bike" Central is a very pleasing layout. Do you have a weatherproof cover for it?
It will have two more wooden sides and a waterproof bag, I guess I should have mentioned that lol
I like the realistic look of this one, looks like Ross on Wye on the background?? 😊👍
Correct well spotted, it's one of my favourites

Very nice layout and the curve makes a difference. What glue did you use to attach thebackscene?
Good quality glue/pritt stick as I find everything else cause bubbles and creases
Thank you ! I had the same problem with my backs centre.

Yes I tried most things and always ended up with creases and bubbles but so far this seems to work
Hi, Off topic a bit. What motorbike do you have?. I have a Triumph T100 and Honda Deauville.
Just a Sinnis Terrain 125, bit slow but does 100mpg. Sadly off the road waiting for spares from china
Sorry to hear it is off the road. Hope you get your spares soon. Thanks for another entertaining video.
Amazing as usual, I do N scale. Is there really that big difference between N gauge and n scale?
It's the same I just tend to mix my terms lol
@BudgetModelRailways Thank you very much I appreciate it. I know HO and 00 Are different?I just didn't know if If the same was true for the former.
@@1TruNub however UK N is different to euro, Japanese and US N
Hi Philip here me and my girlfriend like your layout in n scale the latest one as Iam doing my own one the same but in 00 scale is that ok let me know
