Wanted Dead or Alive was first and the film maker of Young Guns wanted it for the movie and Jon BonJovi said no, but he would do a new original for it and this is the song.
Yeah, slight edit - John Fuso states he was listening to Wanted whist writing Young Guns 2 and wanted it as the soundtrack, Emilio approached him but Jon said it wouldn’t fit so offered to write a new song which turned into the full album and gave him his first tiny cameo which started his try at acting. Black Pegasus add it to the playlist!
"Blaze of Glory" by Jon Bon Jovi was written for the 1990 movie Young Guns II. The song was inspired by a request from Emilio Estevez, who played Billy the Kid in the movie, for Bon Jovi's song "Wanted Dead or Alive". However, Bon Jovi didn't think the lyrics of "Wanted Dead or Alive" fit the movie's Western theme. Instead, he wrote "Blaze of Glory" with lyrics that were more relevant to the film.
This song came after. Emilio Estevez asked John to include "Wanted Dead Or Alive" in the soundtrack of "Young Guns 2". But John thought the lyrics were inappropriate for the movie. So he wrote "Blaze Of Glory". And yeah, this song is a masterpiece!
This song is for the Young Guns 2 about Billy the kid. This is my all time favorite song ❤❤❤❤ My favorite line from the movie is when Kiefer Southerland said You are not a God and Emilio Estevez said Pull the trigger and find out!!! Love that ❤❤❤❤
I am fortunate enough to live near a working drive in theater. So I have raised my children and now grandchildren experiencing that. Rain, snow, clear, it has been fun.
The music video for Jon Bon Jovi's song "Blaze of Glory" was filmed at The Rectory, a sandstone summit in Grand County, Utah. The Rectory is located near Moab, Utah. The crew camped on top of The Rectory for two nights to film the video. The video features aerial shots of Bon Jovi surrounded by castle-like formations. It also includes a projector screen showing the movie Young Guns II, which inspired the song. The video was shot in 1990.
"Dawg... DAWG! Did you see the size of that chicken?!?!" One of my favorite lines of any movie ever! This song is a FOREVER on my playlist; and it's responsible for two speeding tickets 😆 EDIT. The movies made this song what it became. Such incredible actors in their youth all together. To get two of them together 10 yesrs later would have cost more than the whole cast of "the gang" for Young Guns. Naturally; the casting cost went up dramatically for Young Guns II.. Both such incredible movies. Add this banger song as it's headline tune.. The "Package" was completed!
Love this song and the young guns movies. I used to play this for my son when he was a toddler and he would put his hand up when the drums start military beat and drop it down and say "shot down" when the beat dropped! Love that memory!
Ya this is from Young Guns 2. Stars Emilio Estaves, Lou Diamond Phillips, Keifer Sutherland, & Christian Slater. I love the first one & the second one both great movies.
Jones Bon Jovi is friends with Emilio Estevez who was in one of the leading roles in the movie "YOUNG GUNS" and when they wanted to use Bon Jovi's song "Wanted dead or alive " they refused but when they were doing the sequel Emilio asked Jon again and he asked if he could just write a new song and Jon happened to bring his guitar with him so he said he would give it a try and he said that he would see what he could do after asking what the movie was about. Jon said that the song came together in just a few hours and he went to the director and Emilio Estevez and played what he had written and they were both blown away.
Young guns 1 and 2 are flat out amazing!!!! Those are movies you really need to watch!!!! Speaking of... Emilio estevez is working on part 3 right now! No joke!!
@@gingerty9628 Madonna's "Sooner or Later" by Stephen Sondheim from Dick Tracy won the Oscar, while "Under the Sea" from The Little Mermaid won the Grammy (Jon was also nominated for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance but somehow lost to Eric Clapton's "Bad Love"). Tough competition, but this song was also a huge hit all over the world.
Want to feel old instantly? We heard a legit phone (landline style lol) ring and some kids were like .."what is that noise? I've heard it before somewhere..." WHAT?! It's a PHONE! a REAL one! LOL
BP and I have the same movie pop in our heads when Emilio's name is bought up. Maybe because the movie's commercial was on a lot and I was a fan of the Collin Hay band of the same name.
Interesting. I didn’t know they requested the other song, but Bon Jovi has had a cowboy motif in many of their songs, which is peculiar since they’re from New Jersey.
This soundtrack is fantastic. Check out Santa Fe from it. There is still a drive in theater in Concord Ca. Young Guns was based on somewhat reality, while Youngs II was based on rumors.
Another song off of this album was called Bang A Drum. One of my favorite country singers, Chris LeDoux, covered this song as a duet with Jon Bon Jovi.
This was a solo album by Jon Bon Jovi not the band, he was ask to write the songs for the movie soundtrack. Many artists contributed to Jon Bon Jovi's Blaze of Glory album, which was inspired by the 1990 film Young Guns II. Some of the artists who played on the album include: Jon Bon Jovi: Played vocals, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, and piano Jeff Beck: Played lead and slide guitar, including the solo on "Blaze of Glory" Elton John: Played acoustic piano and sang backing vocals on "Dyin' Ain't Much of a Livin'" Little Richard: Sang and played acoustic piano on "You Really Got Me Now" Benmont Tench: Played organ, acoustic piano, and more Phil Parlapiano: Played accordion Aldo Nova: Played guitar, keyboards, and more Danny Kortchmar: Played guitar, acoustic guitar, and more Randy Jackson: Played bass Kenny Aronoff: Played drums and percussion Alan Silvestri: Composed and conducted the album, and arranged strings. A real artist collaboration, produced 4 number 1 hits, lyrics are incredible for all these songs.
I'm 70. When I was little (5 or 6 yo) mom and dad would have my sister and me put on our PJ's and we'd go to the drive-in. We could play on the playground, then share some popcorn and watch the cartoons before the movie came on. We were asleep before long. Great way for parents to have date night without paying a babysitter. 🤣🤣
Omg men at work! Hilarious movie. He and his brother Charlie sheen made that one. Yes brothers if you didn’t know. Emilio is also Martin sheens son. He kept their given name and Charlie went with his dad’s stage name of sheen.
Emilio Estevez was so impressed with this song, and with Jon, he gave him a cameo in the film. If you look closely he's in one of the shootout scenes for a few seconds
7:44 I watched young guns as a child. There was a lot of cursing, killing and there was a scene where they took peyote. I of course had no idea what they were on when I was that young. You should watch the movie, it’s about Billy the Kid
I miss drive-in movies! They were big in the 70’s. Put as many teenagers as we could get into one car…including some in the trunk. We were charged by the car, not the number of people in the car. We would all park on the back row at the drive in and socialize/party. Put some old blankets on the ground and a speaker… Those were the good ole days.
Want your mind blown? There’s still an active popular drive-in theater within an hour of where I live. Grew up going there. It’s been ages since I last went, though, but I got to watch movies like Twister and Jurassic Park there. I was fortunate enough to be able to share that kind of experience with my kids who are now 20 and 21. Fun times.
The Young Guns II soundtrack is one of my favorites to this day. I received it as a gift for my birthday in 1990 and I listened to the tape until it broke. 😂
In our area, most of the drive-ends have been closed. One that was about ready to close years ago was kept open due to ton of area support. Yes it's from Young Guns 2... Fun fact .. this was the first movie Jon Bon Jovi appeared in .. blink and you'll miss it . But it's what gave him the acting bug and he went on to star in 13 other movies, filming when not touring with the band
This song isn't a "Bon Jovi" (as in, the whole band) song, it's a solo project of just Jon Bon Jovi himself. It is both the title track of his solo album, and on the soundtrack of the movie "Young Guns II". This came out in 1990. "Wanted: Dead or Alive," which is a song by the whole band, came out in 1986.
"Wanted Dead Or Alive" came first. This one was on the soundtrack for "Young Guns 2". Jon Bon Jovi was the big winner at the MTV Music Awards for this soundtrack.
Yes, this is the soundtrack that Jon Bon Jovi (solo) did for Young Guns 2. I strongly recommend listening to the rest of this album. Not necessarily for reactions, but just for your own sake. The lyrics and production of this soundtrack has stood the test of time and it's absolutely incredible. Especially if you have seen the movie first and know the world and the story from which the songs are based upon.
The entire soundtrack album is really great. All songs inspired by the movie are lyrically great and Jon had Jeff Beck playing guitar, Little Richard playing piano and Elton John in piano and singing backing vocals in Dyin Much of a Living.
I requested this song on your Wanted review. I LOVE this song. To answer your question, Yes, Bon Jovi is the band and this song is him solo as Jon Bon Jovi. ❤
This song was from Young Guns II from 1990. The cast of Young Guns II was Emilio Estevez, Kiefer Sutherland, Lou Diamond Phillips, Chrisian Slater, William Petersen, and Jon Bon Jovi {who played an inmate and was killed trying to escape}. Young Guns was made in 1988
Bit of random trivia - in case you weren't aware - Emilio Estevez and Charlie Sheen were both in "Young Guns", as well as "Men at Work", and several others. They are also brothers. They have at least one other brother, who also used the Estevez name, who was also an actor, if not as well known. Their father Martin Sheen Americanized his name early in his career to avoid being type-cast.
Such a damn good song! JBJ wrote an incredible song for the movie Young Guns II. Young Guns and Young Guns II are incredible movies with Emilio Estevez, Keiffer Sutherland, Lou Diamond Philips and others about Billy the Kid. So well done! This song just has a vibe. Wanted Dead or Alive was written first. This is Jon Solo but Richie Sambora (lead guitarist for Bon Jovi) helped to write and sang backup and played guitar on. This is definitely one for my playlist. Gives me chills every time.
I was wondering since you've touched on it a couple of times if you are considering having a movie channel too. I know several reactors who have both music and movie channels. They react to the whole movie on Patreon for their patreon members live I believe (it may not be live) and then later an edited, shortened version of that reaction is released on you tube. It would be so fun watching your movie reactions ❤️💯📽️🎧🎬🎞️🎟️
Jon did the entire soundtrack for the movie as a solo project when the band was on a break. I believe he wrote or co-wrote all the songs too. A great album.
My all-time favorite song from my all-time favorite album. He won a Golden Globe for it and was nominated for an academy award. Legendary Jeff Beck on guitar. Elton John was also featured in the album. It’s worth a listen to the entire soundtrack…absolute 🔥.
DEFINITELY watch Young Guns I and II, two of the best westerns ever made. This song was in the second movie, and fun fact, Jon Bon Jovi had a small acting part in the movie.
1986 for Wanted, 1990 for Blaze of Glory. The band took a break and Jon took to a solo project for the movie Young Guns 2 to write the soundtrack, this being the main theme.
You remembered correctly! It is Emilio. The "Young Guns " were, Emilio Estevez, Keifer Sutherland, Lou Diamond Phillips, Christian Slater and Balthazar Getty. With William Petersen (of CSI fame) as the Sheriff. This is from Young Guns II, though, if I remember right. Both films are a lot of fun! Great react as always, BP!
You really need to do Bon Jovi 1989 MTV Music Awards. Absolutely amazing performance and it proved rock bands going acoustic would work for MTV Unplugged
About Drive-in theater, I was 4 in 1954. Saw Peter Pan. Remember thinking I couldn't tell where the screen ended and the sky began when Peter takes the children to Neverland. What a memory.
The video was filmed in Moab Utah. My best friend from high school moved there her senior year. Her mom and her and her sisters got to be part of the catering crew for bon Jovi.
I had a 75 Chevy Impala and it was perfect for drive-in cause 3 people could fit in the trunk, that way they didn't have to pay. Lol I'm surprised we never caught 😅
I loved that movie and the entire soundtrack was Bon Jovi. Both amazing. I had the biggest crush on Emilio Estevez around this time. Had his posters all over my room lol
It's a great movie and yes this is one of the songs from the soundrack. With Emilio Estivez, Charlie Sheen, Lou Diamond Phillips, Kiefer Sutherland, just to name a few.
This song is actually from "Young Guns II" but both are worth a watch. The overall power of the song is formidable but the real kicker, especially in the intro and outro of the song, is that distinct western twang of slide guitar played on a dobro. It is a real attention getter.
THE BLACKBYRDS - ** Walking In Rhythm ** (Movin' In Sound) ** Mysterious Vibes ** / ** Dreaming About You ** / ** April Showers ** // all Classics from the 1970's R&B SOUL JAZZ. All of these are FIRE‼️
second oldest drive in theater in the country is just a few miles from where I grew up. Been there many times. They're great. They run 2 movies back to back. One price for as many as you can fit in your car. Back when I was young they would do a G movie followed by a PG or R movie so the kids would be asleep by the time the adult movie came on. I remember the opening scene of the first Indiana jones movie when I was little, right before I fell asleep. Being up north the place can only run from late spring till fall before it gets to cold and snowy and they close for the season. Great family spot in the middle of summer. Take a van full of kids, some blankets, a packed dinner, and a radio for the audio and you can sit out on the lawn under the stars and watch a couple films. Great times
Wanted Dead or Alive was first and the film maker of Young Guns wanted it for the movie and Jon BonJovi said no, but he would do a new original for it and this is the song.
Well said
Wanted Dead Or Alive was used for the movie Harley Davidson and The Marlboro Man.
He did this for Young Guns 2
Yeah, slight edit - John Fuso states he was listening to Wanted whist writing Young Guns 2 and wanted it as the soundtrack, Emilio approached him but Jon said it wouldn’t fit so offered to write a new song which turned into the full album and gave him his first tiny cameo which started his try at acting. I think this song fits the movie a lot better than Wanted Dead or Alive.
"Blaze of Glory" by Jon Bon Jovi was written for the 1990 movie Young Guns II. This song is fire!! Next should be Bed of Roses by Bon Jovi
Yes yes yes!! And bad medicine is one of my faves too.
This song is for the Young Guns 2 about Billy the kid. This is my all time favorite song ❤❤❤❤ My favorite line from the movie is when Kiefer Southerland said You are not a God and Emilio Estevez said Pull the trigger and find out!!! Love that ❤❤❤❤
Young Guns 1 and 2 and Tombstone are my fav Western movies followed by Mavrick
Mine was "I'll make you famous!" 😂😂😂
I am fortunate enough to live near a working drive in theater. So I have raised my children and now grandchildren experiencing that. Rain, snow, clear, it has been fun.
Hello Bob! Goodbye Bob. Best dollar eighty I ever spent!
Absolutely loved Young Guns it is worth watching and this brings it all back thanks for your reaction!
This is from Young Guns 2….and Jon actually had a bit part in it
This whole album is fire! This album contains some of Jon's best writing.
💯% agree. It's one of my favorite albums of all time.
Great song!! Killer movies Young Guns and Young Guns 2 !! Killer song! Thanks for the reaction loved it!!

“We're in the spirit world a**hole, they can't see us” is probably my favorite movie quote of all-time!!
That whole scene was gold!

Drive in theaters were the BEST. Such a fun thing growing up with.
I actually saw Young Guns 2 at a drive in!
This was written for Young Guns 2 . Both films Young Guns 1 and 2 are really good movies.
Young guns 1 and 2 are flat out amazing!!!! Those are movies you really need to watch!!!! Speaking of... Emilio estevez is working on part 3 right now! No joke!!

I'm pretty sure Jon was nominated for an Oscar for this song! Perfect fit for the movie!!

Thank you for not making fun of the old music. And thank you for doing these songs. I have forgotten about some. And it’s awesome to hear them again.
Jon Bon Jovi wrote this one especially for the movie Young Guns II. They asked for Wanted Dead or Alive, but he didn't wanted them to use that one.

He wrote all the tracks by himself except for "Guano City" by Alan Silvestri from the film's score.
I have always loved this song!

Young Guns 2 and Jon Bon Jovi did a little part in the movie!!!!!❤😊
Welcome to the Late 80s. It went out IN A BLAZE OF GLORY....... 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
LOVE this album/soundtrack🎉❤🎉

1986 for Wanted, 1990 for Blaze of Glory. The band took a break and Jon took to a solo project for the movie Young Guns 2 to write the soundtrack, this being the main theme.
This took me back to good times.. thank you ❤
Young Guns!!!! That movie was so great!! Forgot all about it... Definitely added to my list of rainy day soup and old movie binge.
Excellent movie, star studded cast (at the time). You won't be disappointed.

From the movie Young Guns 2 if I remember correctly! 💙💙💙
This is one of the greatest videos ever made imo.
Im 45 and we had 1 drive in finally closed about 15 years ago and it was amazing took my oldest there a couple times when he was 3 -4 years old
I loved that movie and the entire soundtrack was Bon Jovi. Both amazing. I had the biggest crush on Emilio Estevez around this time. Had his posters all over my room lol
We still have a drive in in Lexington va. And still one in Christiansburg va where i grew up😊
It's a great movie and yes this is one of the songs from the soundrack.
I love the song love the movie! ❤️🔥✌🏻🫶🏻
second oldest drive in theater in the country is just a few miles from where I grew up. Great times
This is my favorite soundtrack ❤️
