Yeah, now it's time to add some type of double-click command from the beacon to enable and disable floor height or give us the option for and if then then that command to be able to duck under overhead objects (below floor height) then return above 8 ft (above floor height).
Love Flight School, and just ordered my Skydio2 as well. Can Skydio track an object outside of the view of the main video camera, enabling me to get shots of the scenery without me/some one else in it?
Okay, I had some confusion on that. Would have used that dirt biking in Utah I just filmed with my Skydio 2. It worked FLAWLESSLY! My editing needs some practice. “Utah 2021” is my first TH-cam event. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Should I put Skydio in the tag line? So new to this. Thank you in advance.
I thoroughly enjoyed this and all the previous Flight School episodes. Please continue making more. Any recommendation of video editing software to use that is user friendly?
OK - this is helpful. I have a question... At 01:25 in the video it shows "navigate to fixed track," but the beacon indicates "hovering." Is "hovering" the same as "fixed track?" If so, does the pilot initiate "fixed track" capabilities by engaging the "hovering" selection when using the beacon? Spent some time today on the Oregon coast - we had a break in the weather - getting in more flight time with my new Skydio 2. The video output is awesome - the piloting skills ... a work in progress. Be well.
Hey Ed, when navigating through the Beacon cinematic mode selector, Skydio 2 enters the Hover skill. Once you select the cinematic mode of choice by clicking the blue Skydio button, it will enter that skill.
so great, love to see me skiing in there, even if it's just a few seconds :-D . fixed track was a game changer for me, once i found out that it's superior to motion track.
I was trying this Fixed Track this weekend and I was having problems getting the drone further away from me. Is there a limitation on the range (I was able to pilot the droner further away but not to set the drone in the same place with fix track on)?
I've tried fixed track, with height floor disabled, to try to follow me at a low altitude. I've tried with the beacon alone, and the beacon combined with a phone. No matter how many times I decrease the altitude, my Skydio 2 gains altitude when I start moving. Any idea why it keeps gaining altitude?
Skydio drones gain altitude the faster they fly in order to safely protect itself from obstacles. Also, there are physical limits to how fast a quadcopter can descend in a controlled manner, so if you are skiing or doing another activity that requires steep and quick descent, it might feel like the drone is ascending, when in reality you are descending too quickly for it to follow you in a controlled manner. Reducing your speed, or allowing Skydio to catch up by stopping along the way will allow you to keep the shot lower.
Sounds great in principle, but the minute I activate fixed track the drone moves to a completely random position. Changing the angle on the app does nothing to alter this position, and then the drone is all over the place during flight. Pretty much anywhere but where I want it to be.
Easily the most enjoyable videos for learning the Skydio2!
coolio tutorial! Thank you
We are glad you enjoyed it!
Excellent as usual!! Now get rid of winter in New England so I can fly my S2, lol
Are you going to the Florida Drone Meetup in March?
@@RonaldBrown59 I wish.......no, traveling and working in a pandemic do not mix smoothly
I just ordered my skydio 2 for my motovlog! hope it lives up to the hype or arrive in time!
So much powerful potential 💪
Amazing
Cant wait to buy mine
Fixed track looks very useful, thanks for a great tutorial.

That is a fantastic idea
You're definitely having too much fun at Flight School 😋
Bonk is best‼️ 💛🙏🏼
(But Bonk was bleeped!)
That intro was fire ... lmao. Soon enough I'll track my drones with a Skydio 2
I enjoy your jokes Nicole!! and of course the video's are Awesome!

We would love if you put Skydio 2 in the title/description, it helps us find your videos. Also add the #Skydio tag to your metatags!
Done ✅
any tips on the seagulls?
Skydio 2 is GREAT!
am interested for a GREAT “follow” (Fixed Track) mode - that I like the most of all...
Uh I should have used this mode for snowboarding 🙏🏼
Can you get the Skydio to circle on a fixed location?

iMovie/Adobe Rush for your phone, iMovie/Final Cut X for desktop. The GoPro app also works great as a mobile editing platform.
Lightworks is a fantastic option if you have some time for the TH-cam tutorials. Once you get used to it, it's easy.
@@TverangerTrent I will give that a try! Thank you kindly.

I just left a comment above about not being able to get my Skydio to follow me at a low altitude. Have you had any luck with this?
@@tallpaul1269 depends on how low. but i use the more further away persepctive, which also works better for me when flying lower &crop in afterwards

Were you using the phone app or Skydio beacon?
@@Skydio using the app. I tried with and without the remote.

I decided to hold off on a Skydio because i couldn't get anyone to tell me if it could do point to point navigation with camera angles, etc.
You can use the CableCam feature to do point to point nav with camera angles.
Did you see that U-turn on his OneWheel??? Holy shit. That isn't easy without eating it.
Delivery to EUROPE when ?
Great joke to kick things off LOL
