I always thought my Mavic 2 Pro was horrible at tracking literally anything. Now that I have tried and flown the Skydio I am blown away with the possibilities. It’s so good.
Last year I canceled my Skydio2 order because I needed a OneWheel to get to work (Jan 2020) ... This year... I have to get my Skydio... There is no way around it. Flawless tech..
If you can make skydio 2 foldable, I would get one tomorrow! The only drawback to Skydio is its portability. You cant easily carry it in your hiking/cycling backpack like you can for example DJI Mavic Air 2
The rigid frame is required for the skydio’s 6 3d scan and obstacle avoidance cameras to be in optimal position two function properly with the software. Even the slight flex in position caused by a folding frame could severely affect the function of those cameras.
Looking for good suggestions for open roads and spaces in Bay Area where I can use my Skydio to the fullest. Wondering where Skydio records all these tutorials.
Please we need to be able to create clips on phone SD card instead of the phone internal memory because in many times we don't have enough space on the phone internal memory. Thanks
Great question! It can’t track RC cars visually because it's designed to only track normal sized vehicles/human subjects. BUT, you can attach the Beacon to the RC car and track using GPS!

Hey Eugene, good question. The best way to get more of the landscape in your shot is to lower the drone as much as possible, you can also extend the range to get more of the horizon/landscape in the shot. If the location you are flying in is clear of people or other moving objects, we suggest turning off the height floor to enable Skydio 2 to fly lower as well. There will still be times where Skydio 2 will need to ascend due to obstacles in the area, or if the subject is moving at a high rate of speed. Generally, the faster the subject is going, the higher Skydio 2 needs to fly to safely fly itself and avoid obstacles, especially when flying in front of the subject.
Too bad my Galaxy S10+ Doesn't fit in the controller with the case on it. I am not sure why they didn't add just a bit more space for phone cases. Also would have put some rubber on the holder. Even without the case the phone sometimes slips out. Otherwise motion tracking works great. I have to duct tape the phone to the holder though. Kind of janky but it works. Duct tape the Canadian fix for everything.
with the FAA's recent ruling on Remote ID, what is the plan to make Skydio 2 compliant? Will it be compatible with retrofitted transponders? Is there currently plans to produce a new drone that will be compliant without modification? this is really the only thing keeping me from reserving a skydio 2 right now. I do not want to buy this one and then you release a Remote ID compliant drone with even better technology 18 months from now.
