"Amen 🙏to that, we can tell he's very food smart and crafty indeed in the kitchen, I love all his presentations would make a great Culinary teacher👍, Westcoast Listening 🙏🎧,"
Lemmie tell yah... This is THE ONLY beef pot pie recipe I will EVER make. This beef pot pie recipe is a damn miracle. I've made THREE of these. My family RAVED about it for two whole days after I made them. WHERE has this guy been all my life!
When I grew up, all I knew about were Banquet pot pies. We was PO. I didn't get the luxury of eating Marie Calender's until I got grown and was able to afford them. This looks DELISH !
Real talk man, I needed this. It's getting cold in the Midwest and this is perfect to stay warm and stay full while letting that oven heat up the house to save money on that electric bill. Well done brother. Well done.
THANK YOU SO MUCH. This is EXACTLY what I was looking for. I'm on a limited income, 71, arthritis, but, I do love delicious food (and rarely get it.) My 17 yo grandson chooses to live with me -- have his Mom and Dad "on the side". And, he deserves good food. I've been caring for him + his little bro, babysitting, living with -- on & off -- and worrying about them for 17 years. Little bro w Mom, so, we share.❤ Let's see some great cooking!
I prefer buying Marie Calender's frozen deep dish pie crust to make chicken pot pie or beef pot because there's no sweet taste but the pillsbury roll out crust your using does have a sweet flavor and I like using those for cobblers. Your videos are great
Wow, missed a few videos and dont remember seeing this kitchen set up before, absolutely incredible, very classy. On topic, ate traditional pies all the time growing up, made by three different generations. Absolutely nothing wrong with making pies with premade crusts when you can. Yours is gorgeous.
Marie Callender's pot pie fed me for years, best store bought one for sure! I love a homemade pot pie better and now that its colder I am sure I will be making them. AND I like a messy crust also, not trying to win Martha's approval, I am here to eat and share the love of cooking, KEEP it real AB
The bay tree is indigenous to Asia Minor, from where it spread to the Mediterranean and then to other countries with similar climates. According to legend the Delphi oracle chewed bay leaves, or sniffed the smoke of burning leaves to promote her visionary trances. Bay, or laurel, was famed in ancient Greece and Rome. Martina from Huber Heights, OH. Didn't know this. 🙂
I just have say the use of premade dough a plus. The wine added, also. I tried many yrs. ago...this looks good, quick and thoughtful....yeah for beef pies
Very close to my Deer pot pies! I use the garlic, cheddar, biscuit mix that you generally spoon onto the pan, but add All Purpose flour and get it to a rollable dough. That keeps it from rising much and it still has the flavor of the mix. 👍🔥
I have come to love cooking because of you and your videos/cooking lessons!! I am pushing 30 and was never taught to cook (outside maybe 3 basic dishes- spaghetti/stuffed shells, and meatloaf) and made a habit of eating out. My husband will tell you, before trying out your recipes, I could make a he'll of a salad and sandwich lmboooo!😅 you are my go to, I've gotten to where I know my spices/ herbs, their taste, and can alter some recipes a bit to make them in a different way (your way is number 1 though lol) thanks sooooooo much for being such a humble and generous man, chef and teacher! You are soooo appreciated !!
this looks amazing man. personally I'd skip the mushrooms probably substitute them with potatoes but other then that. perfect winter dish !!! keep up the fire content.
Additional tip: brush the bottom pie crust with egg yolk, then stab it liberally with a fork. Prebaking a pie bottom is essential in any meat pie to prevent it from getting soggy. The egg yolk adds another layer of protection from fluid, and stabbing it with a fork keeps it from gaining air pockets that will soak up all of that fluid. If you're really pulling out the stops for an event, competition, date night, anniversary etc. professionals and grandmothers alike will also weigh down the crust while baking it. A layer of tin foil with dry beans will do for the home chef. Professionals buy food safe metal ball bearings for this purpose as they make so many. The added weight on the prebake compresses the pie bottom further to really ensure it remains crisp on the second bake.
I made this tonight, and my husband loved it. I thought it was ok, I loved the chicken one better. Thanks for the recipe. I'll be making them both again real soon.
My hubby always saying I don’t like pit pies. After 36 yrs together I think I will get him on this one lol! YES MARIE CALANDAR IS MY BEST FRIEND!! Cant wait to try. Cheers from Geneva Florida. ✨✌️🌴 🍴 😋
That looks delicious....another win by AB. As for the Bay Leaf, it goes back to Ancient Greece at least. The Greeks used to use the leaves of the Laurel Tree (where the bay leaf comes from) to make the reathes that were given to the winners of athletic events. The leaves were also used medicianlly during the middle ages. I am not sure of the history in modern cooking but given its long history of use within civilization, I imagine its use has evolved and adapted organically over time.
Perfection! The best meat pie I make is with venison that my husband harvests. OMG, so good. And yes, Ms. Marie C. makes awesome chicken pie. One of my sons loves it! Thank you so much for all of your inspiration.❤️
I love Pillsbury crusts. Saves time and they are good. So was your vid!!!!! I getting the stew beef out of the freezer now for tomorrow. I use milk on my crusts. Browns really nice. My mother showed me that and I'm OLD! So a long time ago. (Yes, Marie is still one of my favs but the Chicken Pot Pie - Yum)
I love your voice and I tried your meatloaf and it was fabulous 😍 Keep doing what you're doing I appreciate very much.. I wasn't the greatest cook until videos like this
Looks good I'm going to have to try this out the only thing I would possibly add for richness is a little bit of heavy whipping cream and a couple tablespoons of butter blended into that sauce. And definitely egg wash.
Those Marie Calendar pot pies are hard to beat. As for the pie crusts, if you have an Aldi near you, those pie crusts that they have in the frozen section are incredible.
My wife uses egg wash for her crust. She makes the all butter crust recipe off of Natasha's channel. She makes them ahead of time and freezes them. We like watching your channel as a family. The kids love you.
I think I’ll try this, as I make beef stews complete with bay leaves all winter long! Hadn’t thought to make it into a “pot pie”. Appreciate your video. Watching from Canada.
AB, have to tell you, my wife has had a ruff go this past year. I'm not a cook AT ALL LOL. But I went to shop rite and got me all these ingredients and had a go at it. I'm sure it's not what you made but I did a good job and actually had fun cooking for first time. My wife has always done the cooking but I'm trying to help out so she can rest and you helped me big time!!! Thank you for teaching idiots like me and now I can't wait to cook our next meal. I'll be watching and you got a new sub from NJ.
I was dying when he was laughing, cause he know he wanted to taste but couldn't cause that heat would have whopped him and he'd have to bleep out dem words that would have got him in youtube jail. 😂😂😂😅😅😅
This guy can cook and is so calming love to watch him do his magic...he can cook for me all day every day❤
Ty 🤤🙏💯👍😁
You know, you really love your craft when you don't mind sharing it with the world. Thank you.

I don't eat Banquet anymore..only Marie Callender's..💕💕
I still eat banquet. They cheap and are solid.
Being po should of had you making better ones with flour water and veggies from the garden .
I love the Banquet beef pot pie. Marie Callender's makes one with (and without) meat, and they're both good.
I feel ya on tha first part
Real talk man, I needed this. It's getting cold in the Midwest and this is perfect to stay warm and stay full while letting that oven heat up the house to save money on that electric bill. Well done brother. Well done.
I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did! Thanks for watching!

Yes 🙌🏽 this is definitely a fall 🍁favorite will be adding this to my list this month . Thanks AB 🔥💯
Enjoy 🔥 🤤👏
Those beef pot pies look delicious!!!
The crust at the top and bottom is what makes the pot pie. I like dipping my crust in the liquid.
I just have say the use of premade dough a plus. The wine added, also. I tried many yrs. ago...this looks good, quick and thoughtful....yeah for beef pies
YOU'RE THE MAN , DUDE....MY DAD WAS A CHEF AT A LG UNIVERSITY SO I KNOW GOOD FOOD & YOU'RE THE REAL DEAL 👏👏👏👏💙
The bay between spearmint and Menthol induces the flavor in soups and stews looking good it looks delicious
I always look forward to your new videos..you inspire me to cook and your flavor combinations never disappoint.

I said the same thing lol 😆
You're the man. I love your videos. So simple and authentic. What you see is what you get. Keep it up my man
Ain’t nothing wrong with using a pre-made crust. Those look so delicious, AB.
If u have the time to make the dough that's great....but the pre made it bad at all....u can't taste much of a difference
