Thank you sooo much for these great video classes. ❤️❤️❤️🙏 As a young child I watched every tap dancing movie that was shown on the television. Gene Kelly was my hero. 😁❤️ Raised on a sheep farm in the country I had no real idea of what Tap dancing was and, with no internet, no readily available information or classes, plus the stigma in a macho farming community, I never learned to dance. From the age of six, I did however insist that my mother only buy me black patent shoes for school under which I attached tin-taks. I spent my school lunch breaks hidden away in the boys toilet imagining myself dancing with Gene Kelly. 😂
Having lived a varied life, travelling and eventually living in areas where classes were available I often considered tap classes. For years, with work, family and commitments time passed but eventually, for my 54th birthday, I bought myself a membership to a school that offered adult tap classes. I told the teacher that I would pay for a private class each week and also the group class which was offered once a week and that within three years, I wanted to be able to dance the opening to 42nd Street. I bought some beautiful Jason Samuels tap shoes from Bloch and did a total of eight classes. Sadly Covid hit and everything closed down. 😞
Now living in a wooden floored apartment in central London I have not been able to find space to practice. My neighbours below were patient for a few days but eventually, with all the pressures of lock down and an apartment full of kids, they asked me to stop. Desperate to find a solution I eventually bought a portable tap board on line which arrived last week. I also found your videos which thrilled me because they have that earthy, street feel to the way you tap which I love. Now, on dry days, I plan on walking with my tap board and my shoes to a quiet corner of the local park so that I can fulfil my life long dream dream of tap dancing. 😁 It is my 55th birthday this week so the body is not as young and flexible as it was but I believe that I can still, with practice and because of my life long live of tap, accomplish the goal. 😁👍❤️
Questions....is what you refer to as a Spank in this video the same as a pick up? Also, how would you spell Parra diddle? Is that what you are saying?
With HUGE thanks and gratitude and a hug. 😁🙏

I've been told that not wearing socks w tap shoes makes them wear out faster, so what u just said doesn't make any sense

She mentioned to not do what she does. She said that it DOES wear out tap shoes faster and showed in the video what happens to the inside of her shoes due to lack of socks.

@@tracyhiltbrand8381 no, it's not clear - her emphasis is on shuffle ball change, but the spring step is not mentioned as part of the step. Plus way too much talking...
