- I used the Sony a6700 and their 200-600 Telephoto lens for bird photography in Dayton Tennessee. I found a family of Killdeer there as well as several other birds including a Kingfisher in flight with prey.

Nice video Phil! I use the same setup as you for bird photography, and for birds in flight, I've customized the side button on the 200-600mm to SS 2000. It's a game changer for me
That's a great idea!
Another great video Phil! It makes me laugh that I have EVERY single bird in this video here in Arizona. Amazing how much range certain species have in the United States. I especially loved the Killdeer pictures because they have such beautiful eye's and those babies were adorable!
Thank you, I had no idea that these birds were also common all the way in Arizona! Wow!
Nice to see a sparrow getting some screentime. Great photos, all.
Thank you, Leon!
Great shots! The background on the ducks were great. I really liked that baby Killdeer!
Thank you, Stephen! I was happy to find that killdeer family. I photographed them again in my latest video that came out Saturday morning.
Thanks so much for sharing another wonderful video like always Phil 🐦👍
Thank you!
Beautiful images Phil. Such a great variety of birds in this video. Thank you for sharing the adventure out 👍🙏
Thank you, Adrian!
Hi Phil! Nice photos of the baby killdeer! I liked the shot of the blue heron in flight as well. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you, Patricia!
Phil that is the aflac duck , I love the baby Killdear photo that is precious .
As always Phil great videos .
LOL Thank you!
@@PhilThach Phil I had the name of course it should have been baby Killdear , NOT killer .
It was interesting to see the variety of bird photos you was able to get at Dayton Point Park. It seems like a great location to visit for bird photography!
It really is!
Nice video. I still haven't gotten around to replacing my Tamron 150-500 with the Sony 200-600. I like the light you had on the redwing blackbirds. Always hard to bring out the gradients on the blacks, also loved the light on the song sparrow sitting on the side mirror. Also loved the baby killdeer photo.
Thank you! :)
Great pictures!!
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing this video Phil. My a7CR is in the shop so I have been getting back to my a6700 with that 200-600. I add the 1.4x tele for a little extra reach and it does pretty well. You made some awesome images with this combo. My local lake has very similar birds to this spot it seems. I have had great luck with Kingfishers and I believe there are Killdeer nesting as well. I saw a tricolored Heron there the other which is rare this far inland. Your Kingfisher shot was pretty darn good. Those Killdeer shots were precious. Cheers.
Thank you! I've only ever seen tri-colored heron in Florida.
@@PhilThach I'm not sure how long it will be there so I took hundreds of shots of it 🙂
Nice to see you in my backyard.
I enjoy going there, I haven't been in a couple of weeks, I need to get back up there.
Awesome pictures
Thank you!
Hi Phil! Have you tried that combo in low light!
Thank you so much!
Yes, and just like any other combination, it doesn’t work as well in lowlight, but if your patient, use electronic shutter and weed out the motion blur shots, you can get some good ones even in low light.
Nice video❤
Thank you!
How would you compare the Sony 200-600 to the Canon 200-800? Is the Sony sharper? Which one has the better Autofocus?
The Sony is sharper and, when both are on APSC cameras, the Sony focuses better too.
Nice video 😁
Thank you!
I love to see domestic ducks out in the wild! We call them escapees! I bet the mallards think they are exotic! I’ve wondered if they ever get a chance to breed.
That's an interesting thought!
Not set up for birds in flight? Surely you have set up another autofocus button at a set fast shutter speed like on your Canon’s?
I haven't but I should!
