    The 6700 and 200-600 is my main wildlife set up and it does not disappoint.

    That 200-600 seems like lots of fun to use. So crisp. Love that sparrow shot at 8:07!

      It’s a great lens! And now Nikon finally has one like it. Canon tried to one up them and released a 200-800 but it is not as sharp as the Sony and Nikon budget 600mm zoom lenses.

    Nice video Phil!
    I know you've already blown your camera budget this year but if you ever get a chance to borrow a Sony A7RV and try it with the crop mode on that Sony 200-600 I would love to see the results. Seriously considering that setup in place of my Canon R5/R7 & 100-500mm kit. The 26mp in Crop and 61mp FF all in one camera is attractive, just wondering how the AF works in comparison to the canon setup.
    As always looking forward to your next release! Thanks for sharing.

    fill you always take beautiful shots of burns and I love how you talk about your experience getting them. I’m curious do you ever play song calls on your phone to attract birds or do you just use your eyes to find them? Thanks, Karen.

      Thank you! Yes, I do occasionally use audio to help with bird photography. The birds in this video do not respond well to audio, but some do.

    Love the colors in the background of those tufted titmouse shots. Great contrast. I still haven’t gotten a shot of one of myself. I hear them all the time but they’re very shy.

      If there are any local parks feeding with bird feeders, you can cheat a little and get some shots of the birds staging in trees near by. They usually gather, wait, then swoop in get a seed and go back. Also winter in OH. We have some local parks that can you can take unshelled bird peanuts and hand feed chickadees and titmouse. Find the bird, hold your arm out and be still. They will come in and land on your hand. Only works in winter when food is scarce.

      @PhilThach  25 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Thank you! Kelly’s advice is good although I did not use birdseed myself for these shots.

    Do you find the a6700 and 200-600mm has better autofocus than the Nikon z50ii with the 180-600mm?

    • @PhilThach
      @PhilThach  23 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yes, I think it does, especially for perched birds.

    • @nevmedeiros1822
      @nevmedeiros1822 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @ thanks Phil, I was torn between a6700,Nikon z50ii, and the R7. I think the R7 has the best autofocus but the worse lens selection in terms of price to performance.

    Hi Phil,
    Do you shoot the a6700 with electronic or mechanical shutter? I don’t recall a specific video on the subject and I searched titles and couldn’t find one… any feedback or recommended videos would be appreciated. I love your shots and I shoot Sony FE, it’d be so cool to put it on my 200-600 and just leave it on as a bird-only setup. Thus- I’m curious! Thanks!!!

    • @PhilThach
      @PhilThach  24 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Thank you! I use electronic shutter for perched birds, but for birds in flight, I switch it over to mechanical to eliminate rolling shutter in the background.
