One of America’s Great Rock & Roll bands. I only saw them once - a little past their prime in 1984. Despite the band being a little road weary (and possibly cringing at the thought of opening for Billy Idol??), they hit the crowd like a sledge hammer. No idle chatter or tuning up. It was “One , Two, Three…. “ and we were supersonic for about 50 minutes and then they just….. left. Joey Ramone was surely the anti-rock-hero in all respects. If you haven’t read up on his story, you’re missing out on learning about how someone struggled with mental illness every day of his life. I’m pretty sure Joey was being fairly literal on this one. RIP
