2:44 "That's impossible" My thoughts exactly: A single fighter with strong enough shields to deflect multiple lasers from a cruiser before taking it down in one shot. Not to mention its speed.
"It's a Prototype It's a Prototype" Jesus H. Christ all of you fangirls say the same damn thing but leave it at that. Why not put the mini death star beam on a frigate if the B-Wing can't properly use it? It's such a terrible plothole it makes me want to puke.
If it was a prototype, why didn't they make more, obviously it's effective lmfao Spoiler alert, it's the same reason we don't see more hyperspace collisions *DISNEY*
+warhawk9566 It's possible that they had them, they just didn't like using them unless there was no other option. In the episode proper, it's mentioned that the big gun drained the B-Wing's hyperdrive, making it impossible to go to lightspeed.
Me: "Hey! A B-Wing! Finally something from the original material that makes some sense! Those things were designed by Admiral Ackbar himself to have ridiculous shields and whole banks of proton torpodoes to allow it to do bombing runs on cap ships! Finally Disney really got some of the starship lore right! Good on ya Disney! Good on-" **B-Wing fires mini Death Star laser array** ...*siiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh*
+RockMan If it is a prototype, why did they not make more? That is the point of a prototype. Or did they decide: "You know, this super B-Wing is pretty god, but totally unfair. We better put regular guns on it."
+MegaMadman64 They actually stated in an interview that all imperial officers have the same model and faces. They put the hat visor so low to try to make it less noticeable.
+MegaMadman64 well it's more of disney's fault i mean they are a multi billion dollar corporation and they can't just hire enough animators to make different faces for imps
+Zane Fasel Empire put a lot of focus into the inner rim planets, but the outer rim and beyond wasn't their main concern until they got their first Death Star. And true, 3 Destroyer-class ships and a squadron of TIE Fighters can hardly be called a blockade. If it was 6, then it's a problem.
+Zane Fasel Why does everyone think that space is a very limited 3 dimensional area? Broadcast false signatures (which seems easy enough to do) or static damping (EU but could easily be canonised), have them go in several directions, thus forcing the blockade to do likewise, and you can sneak in with relative ease
Mads Larsen propably to not make every face diferent... atleast in clone wars same looks were explained by crew being clones and droids, why everyone is same here?
Do you remember when space battles were intense and serious, when lots of pilots were unsure whether or not they were going to survive and weren't cracking jokes all the time. And the casualties were real and very catastrophic? I miss those days.
Waaaahhhhh you don't like the fact that the empire can never land a single laser and the rebels (when the heros are with them) can do anything? PSSSHHH
Yeah or the days when attacking a imperial cruiser or destroyer in a puny Little fighter or bomber was considerd a suicide Mission? I miss them as well.
+frost tango Probably too expensive to manufacture on a mass-scale, or maybe Imperial tech adapted/advanced faster than they could advance the b-wing's laser. That'd be my guess at least.
+Jonathan Gunn (NaleX85) We have no proof that B-Wings didn't have those Composite Beam Laser Cannons in their mass produced state. We have never even seen B-Wings in Combat before (In Canon).
The CIS were fighting a massive civil war against the Republic, which had numerous capital ships of its own accross the Galaxy to fight their blockades. The Empire is at this point dealing with small rebel cells that occasionally work together. It didn't make sense to waste capital ships on every blockade, especially in outer rim and unimportant systems.
Three light cruisers with two cannons each: 6 cannons to deal with, plus three imperial freighters with 4 ties each, which would add up to 6 cannons and 12 TIE's. Compared to Phoenix Squadron's minimized fleet from Vader's recent attack, would pose a great challenge to the rebels.
+snakes3425 this planet is obviously a backwater planet that nobody cares about I see no reason to blockade this planet with a huge force btw : the imperial light cruisers have 4 turbolasers each 2 hanging below the ship and two on top of the ships hull you can see that at 00:00 if you look at the first cruiser
+snakes3425 I know right??? the empire has been in power for what 15 years? if your new navy is that small that for a blockade force to be given 4 escort cruisers not even real cruisers more like massive fighters with 2 turbo laser batteries instead of guns and you know for a damn fact there is somewhere deep in a imperial system for ships from the clone wars hundreds of Venator-class Star Destroyer, AKA a Republic attack cruiser or A Jedi Cruiser Acclamator-class assault ships not to mention all the captured and surrendered droid warships and everything from the separatist there is dozens of fleets worth of ships there in sure enough to keep the territory you have under control as you slowly shift your navy over to your own built ships because it is a boost to enemy moral to see a mix of ships showing your enemy isn't strong enough to have only their own ships but it would also hurt their moral because instead of a few ships of the empire and that's it there are those plus!! a couple dozen old republic ships and droid capital ships as with hundreds of droid starfighters
+christopher terry the problem with that is that all droid ships were retired after the war, this was to get rid of the idea that the republic gave up on the war and joined forces with the CIS. The venators on the other hand, they were mostly reserved for defence as their large hangers suited them for that. Their hangers are the only reason they did so well.
Ok that's fine use the venators replace the arc170s with TIE fighters intercepters and bombers and see how well a enemy does with hundreds of them and should they make it past they mounted hundreds of older turbo laser batteries enough weak powered shots can wear down modern shields and armor
Yeah, all Rebel ships had to be able to mount a hyperdrive because they need to be able to operate without fleet support for extended periods of time if needed, and they couldn't get the hyperdrive and the main gun working on the thing, so they scaled back the armaments and mounted a hyperdrive. That, or just like with the Death Star, the focus crystals were impossible to mass produce in sufficient numbers to render the prototype design more than an interesting toy and to put them in the front lines in enough numbers to do any good, a more ordinary weapons package was adopted.
+Hartzilla2007 Nerd Alert!!! It wasn't a Star Destroyer, it was just a light cruiser... I think the weapon would do far less damage to a real Imperial Star Destroyer...
+Lt Tumbleweed I think he's talking about the star destroyers said to have been destroyed by B-wings in Endor, while we don't see that on screen, some art was created by the studio... vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/7/71/BWingsKillISD2-ST.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20151109015327
+Luigi999 this "Heavy B-Wing" prototypes' laser array caused too much of a drain on the ships power; leading to the ships' personal Hyperdrive rendered inoperable, luckily for Hera and Sabine, the crazy Mon Calamari engineer decided to put a Hyperdrive onto the Phantom and have the B-Wing essentially piggyback on it.
Why did the cruisers keep missing those shots? Why did Rex stop shooting after three shots? What happened to the TIE fighters? Why did the B-wing shoot for half a second and then shoot and destroy that cruiser? Why did it take so long for the Rebel ships to travel a few kilometers? Unless the video uploader made edits, which seems unlikely because of the soundtrack, this show seems pretty poorly done.
Okay just to clear this up, the reason that in every single space battle ever in star wars the attacking side doesn't use their infinite possible attack routes is because of hyper space lanes. E.G the battle of Hoth. There was only one known hyper space to escape Hoth and the empire blocked it Therefore the imperial ships needed to be shut down. Space is extremely vast and not all of its dangers are chartered and Hoth has asteroid fields. if the rebels tried to escape from another direction they could be torn apart in hyper space by asteroids, if they just decided to go through space, navigating manually the empire would be able to catch up. Same logic applies to clone wars battles, seps or clones only have to guard a few entrances, so they don't need as many ships. Also the defending force can see all the attackers moves. think about it like a goalie in football. if you go close you can potentially stop the goal straight away as you cut of most of the potential angles but the striker can slip past. of your at goal you can see all the strikers moves and react to them although your leaving a bigger angle. however since ships have ranged weaponary it would be very hard to go around the defending force as they could just make chase and most likely shoot you down. This is where the corellian corvette also known as a blockade runner comes in. its fast enough to get past enemy forces and get out of range of their cannons quickly. it's shields are enough to shrug off any attacks. One last example: phantom menace, Queens ship escaping naboo. They can't just go on a Z axis as there are no potential hyper space exits instead they have to quickly fly through the blockade and hope the shields hold as past the blockade is the closest/ only available exit. There's more chance to get killed if you take more time to get to an exit
+TR-8R for next Mandalore I'd also like to add a couple of points: 1. Most models of imperial ships had the ability to fire turbolasers from orbit and bombard the planet below. And even if these specific ships weren't equipped with them the Tie fighters would still have a field day with the now lumbering transports because they would have to slow down from being in the atmosphere and the repulsorlifts being straight up slower. 2. In this specific case they were trying to reach a very specific location on the planet with relief supplies and this "blockade" was directly blocking access to it. So if they came in from the other side of the planet not only would they have to go slower because they are in the atmosphere with wind resistance, but they would still be getting shot at with less room to maneuver. And the cruisers would have detected them anyways and gotten into position to fire.
I will acknowledge that the entire reason the whole 'hyperlanes' thing exists is because early on someone realized that space battles have to work in 3 dimensions, not just the two most people operate on in most cases, and that it's kind of hard to encircle an entire planet, so they needed a plausible excuse for why, on Naboo for example, supply ships didn't just jump to the planet's poles and then fly to the rendevous site under the radar. Personally, I think that shows a lot of foresight
The empire would have made him into an assassin or shot him. Besides, they have Jerec. But really, all the crew members have the same animation model and have the caps pulled down so that the audience can't tell.
They didn't see the Rebels as a big threat (Along with the fact that they didn't have that ISD's in the outer rim) , besides things got more serious when Thrawn was put in charge of destroying the Rebels in season 3.
mansa shaka Right now, the Rebellion is just building up. It's disconnected, each unit still kind of on their own, doing their own thing with mild coordination. They're not even officially the Rebel Alliance yet. When they officially become the Alliance, the Empire recognizes them as a legitimate threat they need to put some actual effort into
fightingfalcon777 Yeah that is called guerrilla warfare. Despite that my point was that it is obvious that some of the story elements they use cheapen the empire. It doesn't seem to be very intimidating nor does it really make me believe the the rebels are really struggling. lol
The clone wars tv show (not the drawn one) was better than this garbage. It is a shame it was cancelled as they were about to get to some cool story arcs.
+putbye1 They would have lost quickly if not for that experimental B-Wing; in fact, their first run earlier in the episode led to the loss of a Correlian Corvette.
Hyperspace lanes mean you usually only have ships coming from a few directions at best, and on isolated rim worlds like this, usually only one. So you station the ships you need facing that way. And without a real opposing military, three cruisers should be able to handle anything a bunch of rebels can throw together, right?
panda gaming44 Hyperspace lanes make that difficult. Systems out on the Rim tend to only have one or two, so all you have to do is sit a significantly-sized fleet where it terminates, like guards at the gates. The only way to come from the other side of a planet is to come from a Hyperspace lane on the other side of the planet. And if the Empire is blockading that world, they'll just put another fleet there, too.
Okay, so I've heard the "they had to take the superweapon out for a hyperdrive" argument, but that just begs the question of "why didn't they just mount the superweapon on a bigger ship that could provide power for both?" Or "why not use a hyperdrive ring like the Jedi starfighters did?" Or "why not just transport this in a big carrier like the Star Destroyers transport TIE fighters?"
It's a simple matter of doctrine, st this point the rebels don't have any ships larger than a corellian Corvette, and even when they did, they preferred to be able to have their fighters jump separately for various reasons
@@TytonidaeIndustries that and here’s the thing with the hyperspace rings. Those are use by fighters that can’t have one unless heavy modification, and those fighters were often a-wing size, but without the thruster’s those have Plus, the hyperspace rings are less reliable for hit and run missions than needing a Corvette for transport Since a Corvette can resist some fire, the rings don’t, and if it’s destroyed……you are basically screwed unless your ship is fast.
+Cooper Terrell Remember Obi talking about how precies Stormtroopers where when they destroyed the Jawa crawler? Yet couldn't hit Luke and Leia on a grapple in the Death Star?
lars 7500 No they let them escape in the Falcon! The Storm troopers didn't let them escape. So there was a station wide alert to intruders oh but you must let them shoot you so they can escape? Yeah right!
+Marián Markovič Well, if they had missiles in the SW universe, it wouldn't be a problem. Sure, space is big, but in the other hand, there is nothing preventing you from scanning the area and blowing up any hostile; you would need only one or two ships if your ennemies are not sending a heavy fleet but just tiny fighters. the, given that in SW the primary weapons seems to be lasers and guns with a limited range, then yes it's a pretty stupid blockade...
Kallus: ''Commander, focus all fire on the Ghost'' Commander: ''er....ok....um.....Agent Kallus, what buttons do I press? I can't see shit for this hat!!!''
The Empire was a bloated police state crushed under the weight of its own corruption. The only time it was truly dangerous was when someone competant, like Thrawn or Daala, got at the controls of it. And it's notable that when Daala did so, she murdered literally all but one of the other high ranking officers to get rid of the idiots who were fucking things up. Then there was Han's epic verbal bitchslap to the Empire with the whole 'Nostril of Palpatine' thing.
@@raygiovanno8657 Considering the Battle of Scariff was a colossal defeat for the Empire, and the Aftermath of it cost them the first Death Star...yes, Scariff was a joke
Didnt you know? Vader cant choke people, the officers just pretend so he is satisfied and they can live another day. He would just chop them up if he found out
If you wanna give a lore accurate reason to why they kept missing, they missed a lot bc they were firing at them with turbolasers instead of laser cannons. Turbolasers are really hard hitting, but are notoriously slow. And since the ghost is more of a light frigate rather than a capital ship they were made to fight, the turbolasers have a have a really hard time hitting them.
I just wanna see a railgun obliterate a ship here lol. Obviously they use lasers and plasma because it’s Star Wars, and they wouldn’t use kinetics because it’s too close to real life, but any modern soldier would wipe the floor with their guns
I would like to pay tribute to the Imperial Servicemen and women who where ruthlessly cut down just for loyally doing their duty in service to the Galactic Empire. May they rest in peace.
does that prevent them from exiting sooner, I always had thought hyperspace in StarWars went based on the story, like in the the new movie they came out nearly on top of the planet. Perhaps the hyperspace lanes may not be in operation anymore?
Eagle Man Completely depends on the planet. Basically if you don't travel through one and you go to light speed, you'll end up really far out in the middle of nowhere.
It’s weird to think how technically the rebels had a laser based super weapon of the same general design of the empire before they even knew the Death Star war a thing.
also laser beam technology is not new republic gunships republic stun tanks and homing spider droid's all have laser beams things like the death star are just the next step in laser beam technology
Anthony Rodriguez blaster bolts are just small bursts of plasma concentrated into an elongated shape. Laser beams (like the one on the Death Star) are focused blasts of energy running through Kyber Crystals, which is why they can cut through anything; it's basically a massive lightsaber punching through everything.
+eNDMyLifE bOi yes but I was not talking about blaster bolts I was talking about pre existing laser beams before the b wing and death star(laser beams that are not powered by kyber Crystal's I might add)
Look. There is one thing about Star Wars, all of it the really bothers me. No it is not Jar Jar. It is that EVERY SINGLE PLANET IS COMPOSED OF ONE BIOME. Only one planet had more then one biome, Naboo (Grassland, swamp). Every other planet has only one biome. It bugs me beyond belief
***** No, but those planets are lifeless. Many planets in Star Wars have life. Though they all don't have to be like that, there should be more then just the one
***** Kashyyk is all dense jungle. Mandalore is a human interacted surface. The planets ground is hazardous to humans which is why Mandalorians live in biodomes. The planets surface would be considered wasteland. Yavin 4, I'm not too sure but every time we see it from space, it doesn't look like it supports a wide range of biomes. Endor, the forest moon. Utapau, I don't remember
I know that they use B-Wings in Episode 6 but they are not this useful, they don't have the power to bring down a warship like in "Rebels". That's what I meant: it's another "Rebels"-story that doesn't really stick with the canon.
personally I don't like the rebels series, I thought the old canon with Starkiller (Galen Marek) was perfect and I preferred the Clone Wars series too. So I am a little bit unfair when they show known ships like the b-wing with plot-convenient powers
If they had Intridictors with gravity well generators, I'd understand the blockade being formidable.....but this.....absolutely no damage done by TIE fighter's shots or the the command ships.....TIE turbolasers were formidable, feared even. They only lacked shields. Unlike Stormtroopers, these guys were trained elite pilots - even Han Solo piloted one if I remember correctly. ....the B-Wing....does it have a central core capable of producing a micro- death star laser? I'd like to see where they managed to fit that on a B-Wing
mysticdragonwolf89 Kids-Show?! No seriously, why didn't they give the B-Wing some proton torpedos or a rocket launcher? No, they needed a mini Death Star laser. >:(
The Stormtroopers are elite units too. Oddly you never see the Empires normal ground troops... ever... even though they exist in the books (even the new canon ones).
+Eric Graham Kallus's days are numbered if he doesn't get results fast. Kallus has personally lost numerous Storm Troopers, 3 AT-ATs , Approx 30 Wookiee Slaves, 2 Hover Tanks, 1 Gunship, 2 TIE Advanced Prototypes, and now a entire Imperial Cruiser.. The good news is, Kallus is about to make history as being the first Imperial Officer to be Force Choked by Darth Vader.
+Eric Graham He didn't even make any bad calls. His tactics repelled the first rebel attack with minimal losses. He was just outplayed by something nobody could have forseen
I think its an imperialised (if thats a word)venator from star wars episode 3 just like how the empire uses gray acclamator cruisers (the ships the clones entered in episode 2)
This is a unimportant, backwater planet in the middle of nowhere; why waste resources with a massive fleet? They were holding up just fine until the Rebels brought in a experimental strike-craft that they could not predict.
I understand it’s a kid’s show, but you can still write a kid’s show while also having an actual sense of tension! Kids are smarter than a lot of tv writers give them credit for.
+survivor686 The Helmets apparently... Someone in development really should get on that shit... If they all took off their helmets then they would be lethal... Not like that armour protects against shit anyway....
One of my favourite episodes especially since they paid great omage to The Rocketeer during all the plot and sequences leading to the building and testing of the b wing, it had so much happy nostalgia feels and it's nice to see the B-wing get time to really shine.
Michael Kossin Does cost of having to replace a hyperdrive if cruisers got in to trouble and they had to get out of there! But since we never saw the B-Wing in action in the films we don't know what it could do!
+Michael Kossin Firing that superlaser is like the rebels gambling they're going to win the battle because there is no RELIABLE way to get the ship out of there if they need to withdraw. The Imperials would quickly learn all they have to do is destroy the transport, and drive off the rebels. The taskforce would be forced to leave the expensive B-Wing behind, and the rebellion would hemorrhage money like no tomorrow. The laser was removed from the final model because it doesn't fit into their hit-and-run tactics.
Not only that, Grievous ordered to redirect power to the forward shields. So the mass drives wouldn't even matter that much. They were going to hit them massively anyway.
No that was quite smart. The Republic fleet was highly outnumbered, so they positioned themselves on the other side of an asteroid ring around a planet. Their backs were therefore shielded by the Planet and the Enemy had only 2 choices: 1: fly around the Asteroid ring, which is the safer but also an more time consuming method 2: Fly through the Asteroid field and force the Republic fleet in a head on battle. Grievous chose option 2 because he felt there was no risk "knowing" where the enemy fleet is. So they flew through mentioned Asteroids with all their shield energy faced foreward and therefore towards the republic fleet. So their backs were basically unshielded and their engines exposed. The AT-TE´s hid on some of the bigger Asteroids and blew their cruisers to shreds with their massive cannons.
You are right sir, that is impossible. One B wing could not do that to an imperial cruiser, and they never had that weapon. And that was not how a b wing was flown
Hydrogen Peroxide remember that this is a prototype, and there was a good reason (that perfectly fits the story) why it never had the superlaser in the films. as for how it's flown, you have a point.
They keep repeating this stupid answer that "oh it drained the hyperdrive, and the rebels need to do hit and run, so they got rid of it". Okay. Well they have corvettes and Nebulon Bs with a lot more horsepower, why wouldn't they mount their death ray on those instead? The writers of the show opened a can of worms in an attempt to give their characters a macguffin
John Spradley the thing had to be at point blank range before they could fire so would have made zero sense to put it on anything other than a fighter. Also it probably would have been costly and difficult to mass produce
I'd guess because Rebels doesn't have that many important characters that they can kill off. In TCW, they had armies of clones to kill off, but Rebels only has a small rebel cell.
You should actually watch the series, especially in the later seasons that despite being Disney and Ezra being such a Gary Sue, are pretty dark with Imperials doing their job right.
We interrupt this holonet broadcast of the Toy Story to bring you a message from Leia Organ: Citizens of the Galactic Empire. Today our scientist have created a weapon powerful enough to destroy starships with a single shot. Upon realizing that the empire has lost the weapons race, Emperor Sheev Palpatine contacted me an conceded defeat, and control of the Galactic Republic to the Rebel Alliance. However, upon realizing that this would mean the cancellation of the Original Star Wars Trilogy, we severely weakened the weapons system and denied Palpatine's request for surrender. For his part, Palpatine promised that he will honor our nerfing of the weapon by canceling the Imperial Government's plans to create a similar device. The war continues!
Mike Jones It's actually explained or implied rather, why the superlaser on the B6 prototype was removed from the final B-wing design. It was fueled from the ship's hyperdrive, meaning it had to be transported in and out of missions. with that in mind, if it's transport were destroyed after the attack run, the B6 would have no hope for escape. That's why they gave up on the laser. bombs and torpedos are just more reliable in hit and run tactics if it means keeping your hyperdrive alive for an escaping chance.
Escape from what?!? Against THAT B-wing I think even the Death Star would be clawing its way out of a system if it was up against that... Especially if there were more than one--say a whole squadron of B-Wings... That would be devastating.
Mike Jones escape from further engagement thats what. With a limit to the amount of shots to be fired due to it needing the hyperdrive to fuel it, it won't be able to escape any straggling ships that survived the attack run . it also went against theirbhit and run tactics. Being a small rebellion meant that they couldn't just stay in battle for long .
Robin The Master tactician Granted. Good point. At the end of the day however, I think this is classic Disneyfication of something that was explained pretty darn well in EU canon. Put another way: WE GO TO SELL SOME TOYS! TOYS! STORY BE DAMMED, TOYS! Smh. At least the movies are good.
Since Rebels is a kids show (Clone Wars is a teen’s show at this point) they had to give ezra and the other spectres special plot armour (although kanan’s armour broke) Also that proto-B wing is op as frick, it shouldn’t even exist
My guess is the Rebels won't make much use of this specific B-Wing variant due to problems with the beam cannon. Probably too short ranged, hard to manufacture, etc. Thus they'll switch to Proton Torpedos.
also how long you do think it would've taken for the imperials who surrived incounters with this type of B-wing to realize they have to take out its transportation ship
My thoughts on the B-Wing prototype's big gun: There is no way that system is reliable enough to fire multiple times in a single sortie without a catastrophic failure of some sort. Even that one shot would likely result in a lengthy list of required maintenance tasks that would *have* to be carried out before you could even think of another sortie. Proton torpedo launchers with deep magazines are much cheaper to field. Further, the prototype is apparently way faster than the production model, which I put down to the prototype having finicky, unstable hot-rodded engines that *need* a mechanic on Quarrie's level to keep from exploding. Again, Rebel high command decided to use simpler, cheaper engines that were much easier to acquire. It's a balance between having a damn good anti-capital ship design, and making it so complex you can barely field it in the first place due to not having techs good enough to keep it working.
You are correct. Toxic SW fans, as evident in this comment section, love to complain about it, and are ignorant to the reasons and justifications for such a weapon to be on the prototype B-Wing. It's the prototype, so it doesn't have to be the exact same as the original B-Wings. The laser can only fire once and it can't use its hyperdrive because the power draw is so high. Hyperdrives consume a lot of power, not just fuel. Also I doubt that laser could take down anything larger than a Light Cruiser as shown. Certainly not a Star Destroyer.
By all means, i love star wars. Alway will be a fan and will never waver in my love of this universe. But for the love of god, why, when there is ALL of space from which to enter a planet's surface, are they limited by a small space where 3 small escort ship block?!? It is a reoccurring idea in star wars. A ship can easily swing around hundreds of miles in any direction and approach a planet unopposed. Even if they are limited by the entry point of hyperspace, they can jump in, and go in any direction and then head towards a planet where no ships are. But time and time again, they only push where there is a blockade.
Last Shadow Blockading ships sit at Hyperspace Lane entrance, and most pilots stick to known Hyperspace lanes. Calculating your own jumps ain't like dusting crops, boy.
Not to mention that you dont just take the risk of getting lost if you dont follow hyperlanes but also to end up in a black hole, jump out in an asteroid field, a sunstorm or some other bullshit that tears your ship to shreads.
As far as my star wars knowledge goes, The B wing was more or less a rebellion like tie defender (Which if you watch this show at all, you know what I mean) and traditionally was a very powerful support fighter. It was used for mainline star ship attacks as a bomber craft while being able to hold it's own in a dogfight if needed, which wasn't it's purpose as the X wings did that job amazingly. This version of it specifically is a much more powerful prototype similar to the tie defender elite we see much later into the show, and it's firing at a smaller light cruiser that can barely be compared to a star destroyer if you're aiming for scale. Probably has an equal crew compliment to a Blockade runner the rebels use all the time, so in star wars term's, this makes sense, and is just kind of silly is all.
You know what would have been a smarter tactic for the Rebels? Spreading the supplies among their ships so the Imperials would not have a single target to focus on, and increasing the likelihood of supplies reaching the planet. OR they could have tried coming at the planet from a direction which DIDN'T put the "blockade" directly in their path.
The blockade was stationed right above the drop zone. If they came in from a different direction. The imps aim their turrets to the zone below, and barrage. Rebels die, and the citizens submit. End of story lol
+Whoami691 It's called diverting fire. If they can trust one ship to take the punishment then why wouldn't 3 dealing with less fire be able? Also even if the Empire are above the dropzone it doesn't change the fact that the Rebels could easily go to a different side of the planet land the supplies and use speeders to transport it while the fleet fights off the cruisers. If anything the cruisers would detect that the fleet doesn't have the supplies and want to pull away which would lead to the rebels having a huge advantage without showing their most powerful weapon. It's called tactics but it's a fucking kids show, so it really doesn't matter. The Good guys will always win even against oppressive odds, they will find a victory.
The B-Wing was made by Admiral Ackbar in between episodes 5 and 6, never before episode 4. The B-Wing never had a laser like it fired, otherwise it would prove to be literally better than the Tie Defender, plus you think that at least ONE of the B-Wings would have this kind of special laser ability in Ep 6, but no, this is Disney's magical *INSERT CANNON HERE* ability. At Episode 7, when the First Order had a single star destroyer, even though it was a modified version and was about twice as large, you would think that the New Republic would go attack the First Order, having a superior number of capital ships, and possibly a super star destroyer or a ship of that destructive caliber, espicially after the First Order have made a numerous amount of invasions on many planets, capturing babies and training them as if they were clones, cloning those babies, and more. You would think this would reach the ears of the New Republic, nope. Disney had to make them a defenseless target for the First Order to destroy with their *cough cough* impossible to build *cough cough* mobile death planet. (Which actually killed stars, take that Death Star) And just wondering, WHY THE FU#K DID THEY NAME THE BASE AFTER A CHARACTER THAT WASN'T CANNON?! I thought Disney HATED the forced unleashed due to if it was cannon, it would mess up its Rebels series. (At least they made Grand Admiral Thrawn cannon) Now I am hearing Starkiller being resurrected in Rogue One. Disney better not pull any bullshit like they did with Han Solo in that movie.
Starkiller was also the name Luke was supposed to have, and, well, the weapon in Ep7. ate stars. It killed stars. PS: Rebels didn't have A-Wings before Ep5 either. Eh.
PetersaberHD Star Destroyer, Death Star, Starkiller... The dark side doesn't like stars, do they? And Disney is adding more bullshit. I would've liked it if they used Z-95s like they did before they got the X-wings. As the A-wings were a need for a new intercept craft to counter the Tie Interceptor.
The B-Wings' laser ability shown in the clip puts huge strain on the hyperdrive, leaving it inert after that cannon is fired. That's why they don't use it in Ep. 6. Starkiller Base isn't named after Galen Marek. Why would you think that? It's called Starkiller Base because it destroys a Star to fire. Also, unlike the Death Star it can't move as far as I know.
You mean like Ahsoka surviving Grievous twice? Like Obi-Wan surviving Maul several times? Like Han being kept alive after being captured even when Harrison Ford explicitly wanted Han to die? Star Wars has ALWAYS had plot armour. There's nothing here that makes it any worse than elsewhere in Star Wars. Just relax.
america's got cringe because all planets have coordinates that the ships automatically hyperjump too . in order to go around the planet without being seen they would have to turn around and hyperjump again but it is very dangerous to just randomly use hyperspace in a random and unmarked direction
Honestly, I started to like this show once Thrawn appeared. But up until him, it felt like everyone they faced were incompetent military leaders who constantly underestimated their enemies, setting a trap for them and then kind of just not trying. Not to mention, Thrawn actually managed to feel like a capable villain by manipulating the Rebels in the long run, and not just trying to kill them every once and a while.
Whole heartedly agree, but Seasons 5 and "6" of The Clone Wars made Revenge of The Sith worse by accident. The Jedi (and Yoda especially) had SO MUCH information about what would become order 66 and how they could prevent it but they did absolutely nothing about it. Rather than even just investigating it Yoda chose to cover it up and ignore it, but they still all acted stunned when it happened.
How in the hell do either of those statements make sense? Star Wars The Clone Wars does not by any means make the prequels better movies, and Rebels doesn't make the originals worse. If a freaking cartoon ruins your love of something then you probably didn't like it all that much to begin with
JesseCarminati It doesn't matter if it's a cartoon or not, what I care about is if it is canon or not. Both the clone wars and rebels are canon. In my opinion the clone wars really makes up for some of the mistakes in the prequels because it really showed me many different points of views on the war that occurred during that era, which of course makes me feel different about the prequels. Rebels didn't really do that for me. Sure they have some great characters and a pretty good plot line, but in my opinion the character development doesn't fit into the original trilogy to me. They would have to kill off the two jedi in that show in order for it to make more sense later for things like Rogue One and A New Hope.
JJ Gaming The reason Rebel's doesn't do that for you is probably because the OT was great to begin with and doesn't have many mistakes to remedie. Because of where it is placed in the timeline it will always pale in comparison to the original movies, especially since The Clone Wars took a lot of storylines and I doubt the Rebels writers want to rehash those storylines, limiting Rebels even more.
Cassian Andor You can say, there were some crappy things in EU (like Trioculus or Emperor's clones), but you can't say EU timeline made no sense. On the contrary
In the new stupid cannon yes. In EU they were essentially a lot like an f/a 18 (fighter/attack) in which they were a hybrid meant to fill both the y wing roll and the x wing roll. Essentially a ship that could compete for air superiority, while still carrying a missile/torpedo complement to counter capital ships. But fuck it... lets just make it a death star amirite.
juntakyle In EU there also was a starfighter size Death Star (Sun Crusher). One of the worst parts of EU. That makes me hate Disney even more, because of deleting the bad stuff, and making good one, they deleted everything, and are making bad stuff
When they use that beam attack, they can't use the hyperdrive. It only works here because it has the Phantom to carry it around. That's why they didn't use them in RotJ.
If B-wings are so useful then why were none seen for another 8 - 9 years? Not one deployed at Yavin or Hoth that we saw, and it specifically said they could carry proton torpedoes. Although the torpedo bit may be an allusion to the the games where the B-wing is the Rebels' rocket craft, each one loaded with 12 torps next to the X-wing's 6
+NeidalRuekk Dave Filoni actually explained this in a Rebels Recon where he said that the Rebels were made up of scattered cells and such. So, the groups at Yavin and Hoth probably didn't have those ships, while others did. I also think that the Yavin fighter groups were probably the garrison while the more active parts of the Rebel fleet had the A-wings and B-wings.
+Grand Admiral Thrawn Not to mention that the B-Wing used by Hera and Sabine is a PROTOTYPE. It's literally the only one of it's kind, and manufacturing more of them would take a lot of time and resources to be done correctly the first several times.
+NeidalRuekk Because this one's a prototype. You have to realize that moving something from "prototype" stage- from an independent designer, no less- to mass production takes time. Additionally, in this case you'd likely have additional years of further testing to see if there was a way to make the heavy cannon work within the constraints of a power supply that could be mounted on the ship. Eventually, the decision was probably made to discard the cannon and overhaul the B-Wing's other weapons systems to try and supplement the loss of firepower as best as possible. Then you'd still have the years it would take to construct a significant enough number of them to ensure that they could make an appearance on the front lines attached to multiple fleets. Not to mention the time that would undoubtedly be spent on the Rebel's side coming up with enough money to fund the production of so many. All told, 8-9 years sounds pretty reasonable.
Junior Ogun Why would they be incinerated?! They could have used the same hyperspace route, but merely have come out of it a little earlier and then have gone around the blockade!

Oh wow.. big brain gunners....
im starting to wonder how the empire stayed in power for 23 years because they fail at absolutely everything
At the beginning, they had no opposition and absolute support. After years of oppression, people forgot why they were in power.
23 years isn't very long as Empires go.
RW2996 Some Empires don't even last that long.
+Trollerjak, the all powerful Troll of Khaos (Xaeon) probably like a year or 2 xD
LatinWolf13 Maybe 6 (You know what I'm talking about).
No wonder they have terrible aim! Their hats are blocking their eyes!

You tried.
I think its because they didn't take their naps during nap time.

2:44 "That's impossible"
My thoughts exactly: A single fighter with strong enough shields to deflect multiple lasers from a cruiser before taking it down in one shot. Not to mention its speed.
prototype, LOL BSitTYPE, that what it is.
"It's a Prototype It's a Prototype" Jesus H. Christ all of you fangirls say the same damn thing but leave it at that. Why not put the mini death star beam on a frigate if the B-Wing can't properly use it? It's such a terrible plothole it makes me want to puke.
If it was a prototype, why didn't they make more, obviously it's effective lmfao
Spoiler alert, it's the same reason we don't see more hyperspace collisions
*DISNEY*
Same thing with the tie defender in this show, idk but it was just as op as the b wing
An inspiring animator The tie defender was originally from legends
I don't remember B-wings doing that shit!?
Prototypes.
remeber its a prototyep they dint have the stuff they had a prototype but it wasent udsed in the battle of endor
well if history is any indicator, the prototype is usually worse than the production model. Odd to see one that's better...
+warhawk9566 It's possible that they had them, they just didn't like using them unless there was no other option. In the episode proper, it's mentioned that the big gun drained the B-Wing's hyperdrive, making it impossible to go to lightspeed.
You don't remember B-Wings doing that shit because you've never seen B-Wings fight before.
Also, this is pretty much non-canon.
Me: "Hey! A B-Wing! Finally something from the original material that makes some sense! Those things were designed by Admiral Ackbar himself to have ridiculous shields and whole banks of proton torpodoes to allow it to do bombing runs on cap ships! Finally Disney really got some of the starship lore right! Good on ya Disney! Good on-"

...*siiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh*
Its a prototype, and the B wing is still made by a Calamari, perhaps Ackbar assisted in their construction, like removing the beam weapon.
RockMan {Richardblue1963}
Oh you beautiful, optimistic soul. I sincerely doubt it, but here's hoping you're right.
Anony Mous I said perhaps for a reason, we still have yet to find out how the Rebels got X-wings.
RockMan {Richardblue1963}
Oh if they retcon the espionage/theft by the designers of Incom of their prototypes to the Alliance I swear to Christ...
+RockMan
If it is a prototype, why did they not make more? That is the point of a prototype. Or did they decide: "You know, this super B-Wing is pretty god, but totally unfair. We better put regular guns on it."

ScrubasuarusRekt "DAMN ANIMATOR LAZINESS"
+MegaMadman64 well it's more of disney's fault i mean they are a multi billion dollar corporation and they can't just hire enough animators to make different faces for imps
I wouldn't call three ships and a few TIE fighters a blockade.
+Zane Fasel its probably an outer rim planet the empire keeps its destroyers more in words but i cant wait to see huge space battles in later episodes
Same here.
to be fair the empire hardly thought they needed a defense the rebels had no heavy ships
How can the imperials see anything with those ridiculous caps over their eyes?
Because they use the Force.
Because they don't want you to know they only animated one face for the Imperials.
they got to keep the trend of not being able to aim i suppose
Mads Larsen propably to not make every face diferent... atleast in clone wars same looks were explained by crew being clones and droids, why everyone is same here?
@@spartanpawn007 and how exactly is clone wars is different? They had the same face everywhere
Do you remember when space battles were intense and serious, when lots of pilots were unsure whether or not they were going to survive and weren't cracking jokes all the time. And the casualties were real and very catastrophic? I miss those days.
I still remember those days...
G-green Leader...
no...
Waaaahhhhh you don't like the fact that the empire can never land a single laser and the rebels (when the heros are with them) can do anything? PSSSHHH
There have been a lot of rebel deaths in this show.
Pepperidge Farm Squadron remembers.
Yeah or the days when attacking a imperial cruiser or destroyer in a puny Little fighter or bomber was considerd a suicide Mission? I miss them as well.
Since when the fuck did B-Wings have tiny Death Star beams?
+rambo john It's said in the episode that this B-Wing is a prototype. It was most likely removed later on in the Star Wars timeline.
+Warregory ™ and for what reason did they remove it for???
+frost tango Probably too expensive to manufacture on a mass-scale, or maybe Imperial tech adapted/advanced faster than they could advance the b-wing's laser. That'd be my guess at least.
+Jonathan Gunn (NaleX85) We have no proof that B-Wings didn't have those Composite Beam Laser Cannons in their mass produced state. We have never even seen B-Wings in Combat before (In Canon).
Kevin Horstmann Yes we have, not in detail but we have seen b-wing fighters in the assault on the Second Death Star above Endor...
Imperial blockades are jokes xD the separatists had better blockades than this
Antaqua R So True I look up on the wiki and those imperial ship are only Frigate...
The CIS used capital to blockade planets...
Arcaden not always, almost everytime Munificient-class frigates were the mainstay of the blockade
Yes but there was at least 1 or 2 Capital, now if you watch the video imperial used only two frigate
I mean shit, Munificient classes were heavily armed. these ships might as well be large corvettes...
Is B-Wing a miniature flying Death Star here or what?
it's a prototype.
No, it's not.
yes it is
Remember when b wings were simple blockade runners with more guns and no super lazers?
"I member, member Chewbacca ?! Oh yeah and member the death star ?"
"Oh I member"
Three light cruisers what kind of Blockade is that?
Three light cruisers with two cannons each: 6 cannons to deal with, plus three imperial freighters with 4 ties each, which would add up to 6 cannons and 12 TIE's. Compared to Phoenix Squadron's minimized fleet from Vader's recent attack, would pose a great challenge to the rebels.
+snakes3425 this planet is obviously a backwater planet that nobody cares about I see no reason to blockade this planet with a huge force
btw : the imperial light cruisers have 4 turbolasers each 2 hanging below the ship and two on top of the ships hull you can see that at 00:00 if you look at the first cruiser
2:45
well, you sure got that right Kallus.
he must be thinking "HEY! THAT WAS _OUR_ GIG!"
This B-Wing Model Is A Prototype
Yeah, all Rebel ships had to be able to mount a hyperdrive because they need to be able to operate without fleet support for extended periods of time if needed, and they couldn't get the hyperdrive and the main gun working on the thing, so they scaled back the armaments and mounted a hyperdrive.
That, or just like with the Death Star, the focus crystals were impossible to mass produce in sufficient numbers to render the prototype design more than an interesting toy and to put them in the front lines in enough numbers to do any good, a more ordinary weapons package was adopted.
I'm don't remember B-wings being that powerful in Rotj...
That's because they cut the scene of them using that miny Death Star weapon thing to blow up a Star Destroyer.
No this one is a prototype remember these were not available to purchase yet. This is made before the ones you see in the movies.
Damn you Disney! B-wings were suppose to have been developed with the help of Captain Ackbar after the battle of Yavin!
+Aleckael It's a side affect of Disney's overtaking of the IP. They get to re-write things not in the movies...
+Streetkillz13 I know, they pretty much have gone deathstar on the expanded universe.
RIP Kyle Katarn
+Aleckael I'm pretty sure they excluded Ackbar's involvement to reveal him later.
+Aleckael And now it's a lot better lol
+Quantum Leap Admiral Ackbar, A. Ackbar... Allah Ackbar? Subliminal Jihadist plot detected to corrupt the minds of youth.
You noticed everything I did. Clone Wars was way better
Nathan 'Dethron' I agree. Hopefully this show will pick up in quality.
but disney editors have made many animations already
not to mention the animation is atrocious, those TIEs look like boxes
maybe they missed because the guy there has his cap over his eyes?
+TR-8R for next Mandalore I'd also like to add a couple of points:
1. Your name is awesome 2. I understand now, thank you.
Right under your comment is a person asking, “Why didn’t they just go around the blockade?”
Irony much?
I will acknowledge that the entire reason the whole 'hyperlanes' thing exists is because early on someone realized that space battles have to work in 3 dimensions, not just the two most people operate on in most cases, and that it's kind of hard to encircle an entire planet, so they needed a plausible excuse for why, on Naboo for example, supply ships didn't just jump to the planet's poles and then fly to the rendevous site under the radar.
Personally, I think that shows a lot of foresight
Why not just go around the cruisers ._.
Imperial officer: sir, what's happening? I can't see with this ridiculous hat on.
Admiral:...Uhhh...we got em!!
Imperial officer 2: ...we missed.
The empire would have made him into an assassin or shot him. Besides, they have Jerec. But really, all the crew members have the same animation model and have the caps pulled down so that the audience can't tell.
They always missed
Ben Geiger
Ben Geiger m
Why is the empire so incompetent? Didn't they over throw the Jedi and Republic/Senate also destroy the CIS?
Because it's a dumbed down clone wars... I mean come on they missed every hit that mattered! AND THE TIES JUST VANISHED!!
It doesn't seem to be very intimidating nor does it really make me believe the the rebels are really struggling. lol
mansa shaka Rebels has a smaller budget, hence the use of filler episodes.
There is like, no tension. The rebels win too easily, it has too much of a "kid's show" element, the Empire is treated too idiotically.
putbye1 in clone wars you could lose even with better fleet. And a creator was : that how real life works son. Not always good win
Have you watched season 4
The clone wars tv show (not the drawn one) was better than this garbage. It is a shame it was cancelled as they were about to get to some cool story arcs.
+putbye1
They would have lost quickly if not for that experimental B-Wing; in fact, their first run earlier in the episode led to the loss of a Correlian Corvette.
Lord Yamcha in what world?
Does the entire blockade only consist of 3 rather small ships?
Hyperspace lanes mean you usually only have ships coming from a few directions at best, and on isolated rim worlds like this, usually only one. So you station the ships you need facing that way. And without a real opposing military, three cruisers should be able to handle anything a bunch of rebels can throw together, right?
Damien Hailey
that is a good point indeed
Damien Hailey there is something to that what if they came from th other side of the planet
panda gaming44 Hyperspace lanes make that difficult. Systems out on the Rim tend to only have one or two, so all you have to do is sit a significantly-sized fleet where it terminates, like guards at the gates. The only way to come from the other side of a planet is to come from a Hyperspace lane on the other side of the planet. And if the Empire is blockading that world, they'll just put another fleet there, too.
nah it just consists of a SMALL ANIMATION STUDIO BUDGET
Those are use by fighters that can’t have one unless heavy modification, and those fighters were often a-wing size, but without the thruster’s those have
Plus, the hyperspace rings are less reliable for hit and run missions than needing a Corvette for transport
Since a Corvette can resist some fire, the rings don’t, and if it’s destroyed……you are basically screwed unless your ship is fast.
because this is a VERY terribly written and horrible show made for tumblristas
Plot,nothing else.
This show makes the empire seem totally inept. In reality the Empire has the best trained soldiers, and the best trained pilots
+Cooper Terrell Remember Obi talking about how precies Stormtroopers where when they destroyed the Jawa crawler? Yet couldn't hit Luke and Leia on a grapple in the Death Star?
lars 7500

Oh yeah space blokade,... 3-4 ships,.. for entire planet, and they has to go right trouth them......
+Marián Markovič Why does no one is Star Wars realize space is really really big?
+Marián Markovič It's an outer rim planet
+Marián Markovič Well, if they had missiles in the SW universe, it wouldn't be a problem. Sure, space is big, but in the other hand, there is nothing preventing you from scanning the area and blowing up any hostile; you would need only one or two ships if your ennemies are not sending a heavy fleet but just tiny fighters. the, given that in SW the primary weapons seems to be lasers and guns with a limited range, then yes it's a pretty stupid blockade...
Like they actually care about this planet....
in this terrible show this is a right thing. They are in the place where the hyperlane ends
Kallus: ''Commander, focus all fire on the Ghost''
Commander: ''er....ok....um.....Agent Kallus, what buttons do I press? I can't see shit for this hat!!!''
Nothing apart from the expanded universe ever did the Empire justice...
Battle of Hoth be like
The Empire was a bloated police state crushed under the weight of its own corruption.

Or Ina nutshell it's like trying to shoot a deer with a 1800s cannon compared to any other guns
@@skybot7091 More like trying to hit a bird with a trebuchet with a giant rock as ammunition.
Except the Ghost gets hit multiple times, which shouldn't be survivable
I just wanna see a railgun obliterate a ship here lol. Obviously they use lasers and plasma because it’s Star Wars, and they wouldn’t use kinetics because it’s too close to real life, but any modern soldier would wipe the floor with their guns
I would like to pay tribute to the Imperial Servicemen and women who where ruthlessly cut down just for loyally doing their duty in service to the Galactic Empire. May they rest in peace.
Why not go around the planet instead of going right towards the enemy.
Glatzkopf Umhang Mann there called hyperspace lanes...
does that prevent them from exiting sooner, I always had thought hyperspace in StarWars went based on the story, like in the the new movie they came out nearly on top of the planet. Perhaps the hyperspace lanes may not be in operation anymore?
Eagle Man Completely depends on the planet. Basically if you don't travel through one and you go to light speed, you'll end up really far out in the middle of nowhere.
Eagle Man You must be a very skilled pilot to pop out of hyperspace this close to a planet. (TFA)
He's talking about just going around the blockade, I mean it's a fucking planet and you literally could just go around them.

oh my god disney is infected by dabbing too

Phantom4Flyer yes he did
Phantom4Flyer Yep he did
He didn't dab, he did the Rebels version of the Usain Bolt
It’s weird to think how technically the rebels had a laser based super weapon of the same general design of the empire before they even knew the Death Star war a thing.
3 Tie fighters ?
The empire must have had some serious lack of military budget

Nice Ship... why it's not so useful in the Trilogy? Oh wait, it's a "Rebels"-story, never mind
starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Prototype_B6
I guess you're wrong.
I know that they use B-Wings in Episode 6 but they are not this useful, they don't have the power to bring down a warship like in "Rebels". That's what I meant: it's another "Rebels"-story that doesn't really stick with the canon.
New canon. Though yes, I get what you're saying.
personally I don't like the rebels series, I thought the old canon with Starkiller (Galen Marek) was perfect and I preferred the Clone Wars series too. So I am a little bit unfair when they show known ships like the b-wing with plot-convenient powers
ersonally the Force Unleashed version of how the rebel alliance formed is 100x better then this version
TIE's did not have turbo lasers, but laser cannons. But your post makes sense.
Furthermore, the rebels did not had acces to B-wings at that point
F4Wildcat According to the new cinematic cannon they had access to at least one experimental one.
The Stormtroopers are elite units too. Oddly you never see the Empires normal ground troops... ever... even though they exist in the books (even the new canon ones).
mysticdragonwolf89 cmon guys they are wearing plot armor with plot shields on their ships that make people miss them! You must know this

The good news is, Kallus is about to make history as being the first Imperial Officer to be Force Choked by Darth Vader.

+Michael Kossin Have you wtached the show?
+sw1000xg Yes. Buggy hyperdrive. Apparently the rebellion had ways to ferry it into battle so that doesn't matter.
Michael Kossin
Does cost of having to replace a hyperdrive if cruisers got in to trouble and they had to get out of there! But since we never saw the B-Wing in action in the films we don't know what it could do!
+Michael Kossin
Firing that superlaser is like the rebels gambling they're going to win the battle because there is no RELIABLE way to get the ship out of there if they need to withdraw.
Alestiiidae [no_last] I see. Good answer.
I love how Rex is part of the main cast in both good Star Wars animated shows
I cant believe I just watched this
RDubya73 oh just go with it, I cringed so hard when in the clone wars a couple shots from some AT-TEs brought down a Maleficent cruiser
"That's impossible" yes it is, Kallus. Pure bullshit
@RevanTheFireMage that was a whole company of AT-TEs, and there mass drives would bypass the Munificent-class frigate shields.
Their backs were therefore shielded by the Planet and the Enemy had only 2 choices:
1: fly around the Asteroid ring, which is the safer but also an more time consuming method
2: Fly through the Asteroid field and force the Republic fleet in a head on battle.
"that's impossible" .... my thoughts exactly.... screw you Disney.
Robin The Master tactician well that is the thing, if it doesn't have the super laser in the film, they have to explain why it isn't in the film
@@hattedsandwich2415 the laser is short ranged, going that close to a star destroyer is suicide.

Kinda like the OT right?
We interrupt this holonet broadcast of the Toy Story to bring you a message from Leia Organ:
Citizens of the Galactic Empire.
Mike Jones
It's actually explained or implied rather, why the superlaser on the B6 prototype was removed from the final B-wing design.
Clearly it got its real life inspiration from the Sun Crusher
Since Rebels is a kids show (Clone Wars is a teen’s show at this point) they had to give ezra and the other spectres special plot armour (although kanan’s armour broke)
Also that proto-B wing is op as frick, it shouldn’t even exist
Apparently, the Death Star plans ARE in the main computer.
"That's impossible..."
Yes, yes it is.
Fuck that bullshit.
"Sir, there is absolutely no way I can see my control panel with this hat on"
My guess is the Rebels won't make much use of this specific B-Wing variant due to problems with the beam cannon. Probably too short ranged, hard to manufacture, etc. Thus they'll switch to Proton Torpedos.
From what i read on the wiki, the laser also drains the hyperdrive, which is another reason they switched to missiles/torps
Will there IS something to be said about being able to salvo off torpedoes by the truckload. So not a total loss.
also how long you do think it would've taken for the imperials who surrived incounters with this type of B-wing to realize they have to take out its transportation ship
An nice Idea. A one off Prototype concept B-wing probably very expensive and never considered for mass production.
Love the moment and the music where the b-wing destroys the cruiser, thats pure star wars...
+Shadowkey392 "Nah don;t focus on any one ship, just destroy the lot of them..."
Much better, don't you think?
SuperKnalxz Grey
Kinda like the rebels in the OT right?
+Whoami691 Well, it WOULD force the Imperials to split their fire among the ships instead of focusing all of it on just one.
3:01 Hit the dab.
And the Zeb.
Kallus: I would hardly call that reinforcements
Thrawn: Agent; victory and defeat are often determined by the smallest detail.
Alduin the Anti-Dragonborn
Pretty much. Eh, Disney kicked EU into the curb and then proceeded to rape it's corpse with Ep7 and Rebels...
Alduin the Anti-Dragonborn none taken
The B-Wings' laser ability shown in the clip puts huge strain on the hyperdrive, leaving it inert after that cannon is fired. That's why they don't use it in Ep. 6.
Starkiller Base isn't named after Galen Marek. Why would you think that? It's called Starkiller Base because it destroys a Star to fire. Also, unlike the Death Star it can't move as far as I know.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Made the okay prequel trilogy way better.
Star Wars: Rebels. Made the already great original trilogy worse.
JJ Gaming pretty much.
Star Wars The Clone Wars does not by any means make the prequels better movies, and Rebels doesn't make the originals
worse.
They would have to kill off the two jedi in that show in order for it to make more sense later for things like Rogue
One and A New Hope.

Finding it very hard to believe that a alliance that small could afford to build a ship so powerful
So B-wings are Death stars on wheels
And they have less power...

In EU there also was a starfighter size Death Star (Sun Crusher).

When they use that beam attack, they can't use the hyperdrive. It only works here because it has the Phantom to carry it around. That's why they didn't use them in RotJ.
Hijynks Imperial Captain: Shoot them, they are docking to go to lightspeed... Tie pilots: No Sir, that would be unfair!
+NeidalRuekk If you care to notice B wings WERE present at the battle of Endor.
