Great presentation along with its limitations “this is not gospel”. Love it! Stories of our existential bewilderment in our collective cognitive dissonance and our problems with communication nowadays.
Both parts of our population “Large and small were not very effective with our communication”.
I’ll add especially when it is purposely by design made complicated to increase its opacity, not to increase its clarity on issues often times, more often recently, by our methods of communication getting increasingly biased, psychology plays a powerful role especially in campaigns of the common good, environmental economic equity for example.
Think about the equivalence of our western culture with independent being foundational to be an American, vs. interdependence. How that is perceived as a weakness rather than strength.
How much is it worth to US our subgroups… Asian vs. European wats of thinking… a disconnect?
A collective disconnect that hinders our progress forward often times.

Save this individual “now before its too late!” Cry we’re all too familiar with…

Save this individual now before its too late!” Cry we’re all too familiar with…”Hurling information at the problem” does not work…
Threatening information makes US feel threatened uncomfortable.
Watch don’t start with any interpretation of a threat out the gate, built trust shore them up first.
“Taking care of your elderly grand mother…” truth and sincerity are key to establish trust.
Be aware of inherent biases…being a victim of bias yourself”.

Talking about injustices-Let’s talk football and its tenets , precedent and rules of law, its parallels to rules of law and justices act like neutral referees to see the laws are carried through for the common good is the ideal…reflecting peoples values.
Framing of an issue often gets sabotaged for a reason…when critical thinking is used. Shankar employs the opposite strategy here.
Multiple of these issues…choose our individual liberties frame and tailored to achieve a common ground. Independent thinking for autonomy is therefore respected, showing honor, is a commonality
Reestablish trust…given a shared foundation spawning a willingness to continue with the communication.
