And that other crazy part is.... Glinda has to sing some really low notes during the show too. The end of the Not That Girl reprise is a low G and she sings a low Ab in For Good. And she has to sing in belt voice for Popular. Both Glinda and Elphaba are INSANE roles vocally.
AND ELPHABA HAS TO SING AN E3 DURING I'M NOT THAT GIRL! the ranges these characters require is insaneee. Thank god both our leads in the movie have that range! Cynthia's most famous song goes down to a D3 and she does it without problems and ariana is known for her high stuff anyways. I think we're in good hands
So very talented. Heard her hit these notes live a few times. Will never forget my first time seeing her in October 2004 with Idina, a brand new college grad. A star in the making.
She actually sang a E6 if you play it alongside the High E at the end of the title song from Phantom of the Opera. They match pitch. Structurally, an Eb6 wouldn’t fit well in the No one mourns the wicked. :D
Thank you so much for posting these!!! I was searching the internet high and low for Megan’s TG with the option up!! I saw it years ago but it got taken down and now to have it back up is epic!! Thank you!!!
The promo for Wicked the Soundtrack 2024 shows Ari doing the high note for No One Mourns the Wicked, but if she's also gonna do it for Thank Goodness, I'm a Munchkin's uncle.
And here are the replay buttons: 1:08 and 3:35
Enjoy!

it’s why so many glindas and elphabas have vocal damage and why the contracts are so short ( compared to other broadway roles)

Yeah and Ariana did the opt up in no one mourns the wicked too!@@alemobra5747
Her belt is so bold and her upper register is SO light, god she is so unreal! I would do anything to see her play Glinda again!
Her ending poses are absolutely everything. Love how cognizant she is of her hand movements. Vocal powerhouse.
I love the way you put it! She definitely knows how to command the stage - her poses are great to look at no matter from a distance or close up
Kristen Choneweth was better at it but this lady is ok too.
@@meltedmarshdaddy you gonna get her dragged stop this madness 😭
And this was a MATINÉE! That’s already ten times more impressive!

such an amazing voice and she is SO well trained, it's so rare to see both of those things at once now these days - she is amazing
the level of joy that this gave me, OMGG
I love musicals so much
I come back and watch this like every day.
In the first clip she hit a Eb6 and in the second clip she hit a F6 all in head voice.
As someone who’s not familiar with music theory, that’s interesting info to know, thanks for sharing!
I'm not good at knowing specific pitches, but i knew that first one was damn close to the E6 in Phantom

@@Joey14Rocks Yes, it is an E6 at the end of NOMTW.
The fact that both of them it’s off pitch 🙊no shade
What a goddess. The voice and acting. Stunning.
I’ve never heard her hit these notes before !! Amazing

This is so goddamn fierce
I wanna be on that stage on day! In the costume and that bubble!!!
Percussion was on POINT at 3:33
what a legend

My FAVORITE Glinda after Kristin Chenoweth.
Mine too! I love her take on Glinda, she absolutely owned it
I prefer Megan
SAME!!! she was phenomenal!!
Dont forget that incredible voice comes out of a gal only 5'3"!
I wonder if the tinier the vocalist, the better the singer they are: Megan Hilty, Kristen Chenoweth, Christina Aguillera.
She'd be a fantastic Carlotta in Phantom
She could totally pull that off - the personality and the vocals!
Ariana Grande is doing the same opt up for NOMTW. although there's no leak of her Thank Goodness, I'd assume they did the opt up too
“Thank Goodness” isnt from part two?
@ yes, there’s been photo leaks but no audio leaks of them filming Thank Goodness
If she did that's how we know she's a real Wicked fan, can you imagine how many Wicked bootlegs she's watched over the years??
here after Ariana did this opt up!!!!!!!!! ariana is gonna eat wicked songs
That one soprano be like
THE WAY ARIANA NEEDS TO DO BOTH. Well at least NOMTW Is confirmed 😭
Oh she totally will- a Wicked superfan like her wouldn't waste the opportunity 💖🫧🎶
Might like her as Galinda over the others oop
What's it's her highest note im mix/cheast????
So much better than Kristin Chenoweth
So you heard how the last note was off pitch right…go listen to Kristin lol
@@iken4469Both of them were off pitch. Kristin landed them both and is the ONLY Glinda to do so thus far.
