Megan Hilty performs No One Mourns the Wicked with the Broadway cast of Wicked. May 28th, 2006. This was her last on Broadway. Includes the optional high note.
Some might say I'm crazy, but I saw Megan in Wicked (Los Angeles) 30 times! And each time, she got BETTER and BETTER and BETTER! NO ONE can ever top Kristin. However, Megan TRULY made it her own, and she's number 1 next to Kristin! Because they TRULY made this role their OWN! LOVE YOU! It's ME, DOLPH! (Ok, ignore the above, I had time to think, and it does sound very stalkerish! )
Nah not crazy, maybe a little obsessed but I get it. I just took my wife to see Wicked in Philly over the weekend and I’d go back again in a heartbeat. Olivia Valli as Elphaba and Celia Hottenstein as Glinda and they were both absolutely amazing.
@@HSMfanatic17 She does the standard note on the cast recording. She was capable of doing the higher option, but they wanted the standard one for the album. I think if she'd optioned up on the recording, audiences would've then expected that note to always be used in the show and might've felt let down when it didn't happen.
I wonder sometimes that when Elphaba had her vision about the celebration of her if she saw Galinda/Glinda's path and she did what was best for the people and Animals of Oz.
I had the great pleasure of seeing her at the Pantages Theater in Los Angeles in 2008. Eden Espinoza played Elphaba. It’s one of the best theater experiences I’ve ever had. I still laugh at the fact that my boyfriend went temporarily blind during the introduction to the One Short Day number. Those green lights! 😂❤
doesn't the Broadway Glinda bubble have a long rod on the back for her safety clip? the tour is the one that uses the small loop in the back of the bubble. I'm just very observant lmao
They have used several different methods for the broadway bubble over the years. Small loop, vertical rod, horizontal rod. Good eye though. You're clearly a mega fan like me haha.

That e6 at the end is NECESSARY - it brings the number to such a dramatic close!
I love that note - I've only heard Kristin, Megan and Alli Mauzey do it so far though - are there other Glindas that did it?
I still find it astonishing for them to reach a note that high AND have vibrato. That's incredible range and technique.

I’m surprised that Kristin Chenoweth didn’t think of that during her run in the OBC. That would’ve been pretty badass

My favorite Glinda. Megan rang everything out of this role. Just milked it for everything it was worth. The gold standard for me.
